      • Yeh they said they had none. Also asked at Coles Stud Park but as there were none (not even $250 or $50) so I assumed they were taken off display. The service desk person had no clue and said just to check the end or else they don't have any, but not sure how much I believe them haha

  • +1

Plenty of $100 cards at Coles Town Hall in Sydney, just need to ask at service desk.

    • Just like my local Coles store, there were only $50 ones on display, people might just assumed it is all gone. Lucky I did go to the service desk and ask about the $100 one, she asked how many do I want then she took exactly 5 cards out from the drawer below.

  • Coles Tamborine Oxenford Rd had plenty of the $100 & $250 cards for those on the Gold Coast

  • Could anyone shed some light on how long it usually takes for the Flybuys Points to show up in my account?

(I am more of an Everyday Rewards person.
I went through this tread and did not find the answer.)

    • +3

It is usually credited around 5pm Sydney/Melbourne time on the day after the transaction. However, it can sometimes take a couple of extra days before the points show up.

The standard and bonus points from the two Coles Mastercard gift cards I purchased yesterday appeared this afternoon.

      • +1

        Cheers, mate.

I can confirm that the Flybuys Points corresponding to my purchase last evening have been awarded to my account around 5 pm Sydney/Melbourne time today, as you suggested.

Besides, concurring with another previous comment, I can also confirm that buying gift cards per se is rewardable, i.e., 525 points will be allocated on top of the bonus of 2,000*5=10,000 points, given five $100 gift cards is purchased.

Combined with this current deal, $60 worth of the Card Network Gift Cards could be redeemed with 10,800 Flybuys Points, despite an expected prolonged delivery window.

        Edited typos

  • I know someone who bought these and have not received the bonus points, nor does it show in their transaction history. Has anyone received the points?

    • +2

From experience, any flybuys points appear at least one day of waiting sometimes two.

I wish flybuys would be as quick as Woolworths in recording and confirming transactions. Sometimes at Woolworths the receipt tells you that you immediately got XY bonus points. Flybuys is usually a wait and see scenario.

    • +1

      Update.

Bought card yesterday. Got points just now.

      • Thanks for the update. Their unusual delay doesn't inspire much confidence in entrusting your cash with them to gain some points. In addition we have had targeted offers as well as previous gift card points promotions not apply at all until followed up with FB weeks later.

  • +2

This is a first time with me, went 8 coles yesterday, 5 coles are way to home from work and 3 coles are within 5 kms radius from home…none of them have $100 ones…ver disappointed with coles this time….

    • I admire your persistence.

    • Come back on Wednesday. There will be plenty :)

  • Finally found some and got the last three. Does anyone know if I can use those gift cards to purchase another? Transaction for the final 2 gift cards (if I can find them) would be $210, so if I split it across three cards then I'd be fine, but does Coles let you do that?

    • +1

Does anyone know if I can use those gift cards to purchase another?

It worked fine for me last month, but it is Coles policy to not allow you to use a Coles Mastercard gift card as a payment method for any gift cards at Coles. I have not tried more recently, and there is always the chance that Coles have implemented checks where upon swiping the card on the EFTPOS terminal, they check the BIN and see whether it is permitted to use as a payment method for the item you are purchasing. Coles has blocked the BIN for the old Coles Gift Mastercards as a payment method for Coles Mastercard gift cards (and probably all gift cards) at Coles, so there is precedence.

Transaction for the final 2 gift cards (if I can find them) would be $210, so if I split it across three cards then I'd be fine, but does Coles let you do that?

At a self checkout, no. The only form of split payments you can do at a Coles self checkout when purchasing a gift card is to pay via cash first, then pay the remaining amount owed via card. If you press the Mixed Payment button on the self checkout, you'll trigger an error message that you'll need to go to the service desk to complete the transaction if you want to do split payments.

At a standard checkout (including the service desk), it depends on the staff member operating the checkout. There were instances during the previous 10% off Coles Mastercard gift card deal where a very small number of staff members told me they were instructed to not allow any split payments whatsoever when customers were looking to purchase any kind of gift cards. However, I find that nearly all staff will happily allow you to do split payments. However, assuming Coles has not implemented BIN checks on Coles Mastercard gift cards, some staff may notice that you are attempting to use Coles Mastercard gift cards as a payment method and stop the transaction, because they are simply enforcing Coles policy. I doubt staff would be that vigilant, but YMMV, especially if you go to a standard checkout operated by a more senior staff member (e.g. service supervisor, store manager).

      • Interesting, thanks for the advice! If I got $5 cash out and bought the two gift cards separately, and used the $5 first on self checkout then the Coles gift card, I should be sweet though no? Provided they haven't put a block on the Coles mastercard

        • +1

If I got $5 cash out and bought the two gift cards separately, and used the $5 first on self checkout then the Coles gift card, I should be sweet though no?

That should be fine, especially if you go to a Coles store during a busier time and self checkout assistant is too distracted to notice what you're doing.

Personally, I am the sort of person who would risk it by going through a standard checkout operated by a more junior staff member, as they're less likely to be briefed on the intricacies of Coles policy, but that's me!

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Beauty, I'm heading to Knox shopping centre tomorrow and there are two Coles in the same shopping centre, so will give a go at manned checkout first and failing there then self serve at the other Coles! Thanks for the tips

  • Spotted $250 cards in two different Coles yesterday and today, looks like FB bonus points aren't attracting much interest (admittedly it's not as good deal as $100 or 10% straight discount).

    • Haven't seen any $100 cards. Been to 3 stores.

    • Yes, there's lots of the $250 ones sitting on shelves, but they aren't really worth buying, unless someone needs the cards for some other reason, and not just the discount.

After taking out the $7 fee, you're left with only an approx. 1% additional discount.

      • You'll get an extra 152 flybuys points worth 76c. Plus extra spend on your payment method which can have it's advantages.

      • $3 is $3, if you already have bills waiting to be paid and can't find the $100 ones, why not just get the $250 cards? At least you get the fuel of your shopping trip covered.

      • +1

I bought a $250 to pay a bill that couldn't use split payment

  • Just tried to buy 5 at the self serve and when I scanned the 4th one the machine said Max number of gift cards reached or something like that, so I just bought 4. I managed to buy 5 at the self serve at the same coles Friday night, so they have recently put a self serve limit of 4 at my local (redbank plains). Is this happening to everyone else?

    • +1

That message is just a hoax, you can ignore it.
However to avoid potentially unpleasant exchange with the check out assistant I always do 3 cards max in 1 transaction at self serves.

  • The bonus Flybuys points cap for 5x cards, how rigidly they have implemented? Has anyone bought more than five and got the bonus points on all?

    • +1

Yes, and nope, didn't get the bonus points for the 6th card :(

      • Thanks mate.

    • Big NO with flybuys…

  • +1

Wasn't planning to buy any and was doing my weekly Coles shopping today when I spotted a few $100 ones on the stand…I had $525 balance on my Hiver card /account but didn't have the physical card with me so bought 4 x$100 (with Hiver virtual card and kept purchase under $500) and paid for the 5th with my Amex edge. The Asian lady next to me took all the remainder $100 cards….hope she knows the 2000 FB pts is limited to 5 cards per FB acct!

    • She may have had more than 1 FB account. Did the store let her buy more than 5 through?

  • Anywhere I can find cards in Melbourne? This is so difficult to find this time.

    • I just saw some at Coles Stud Park (Rowville) if you're still after some. Had both $100 and $250

      • Thanks a lot, I've got the last 8pcs just now 😀

        • Hope you did it with 2 FB accounts!

          • +1

@Craze: Of course as he is a pro. I bought 16 $100 this time.

  • @WookieMonster can these cards be bought using Coles Myer GC?
    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

Officially speaking, you're not allowed to do that, as that is against Coles Group's gift card terms of use.

Unofficially speaking, it should work, as long as staff don't intervene to stop you.

The usual caveats around split payments at self checkouts applies in this case too (i.e. the only split payments possible when purchasing a gift card at a Coles self checkout is to pay using cash first (and no change will be given), then pay the remaining amount owed using either a card or gift card).

      • +1

Thanks mate, will give it a go and revert.

        • +1

          Technically yes it does work
          Did it last week

  • Can anyone confirm coles e-gift card technically still works buying those?

  • +1

DEFT BPAY no longer accepts prepaid card as payment method, can't use sniip to my strata bill anymore! damn it….

Guys and girls, letting you know one of my cards got hacked. They managed to do 2 small transactions on it. Lucky I found it out early and emptied it on a Woolworths gift card.

I bought the card not with this offer. Bought it in June with the 10% off deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/705416

Let me find a way to post a screenshot of the transactions. Wish Ozbargain allow image attachment

The 2 small transactions were made by the hacker.

    • Wow thanks for the heads up
These are the new Heritage bank cards too

      • +1

Yup it's the new card, not the old type.

        • Just emptied out my last card. Thankfully None of mine were hacked, but better to be safe and use them now

        • That's a worry. There I was thinking these would be safe. Can we lock these like the last lot?

          • @Yola: Wow same here thought the new cards are safer in the new packaging! Gotta use them quickly.

            • @Craze: I hope the new mob will refund as the last one did. We need to get Wookiemonster on to this.

              • @Yola: I haven't made a claim with Heritage Bank. The loss is only $4 something.

My priority now is to spend the remaining. Still have like 10 more cards to go.

                • +1

@totom: Make sure you have all the receipts.

            • @Craze: The new packaging is definitely safer, you don't get rip-off by scammer with the tampered card when you purchase.

              • @samehada: Addresses the tampering issue but still hackable (random BIN attack?) I suppose.

                • +1

@Craze: All the expiry dates are the same and only 6 of the digits in the card number differ.

    • Also just found a card had been used, no evidence of tampering.

      • Damn. What have done about it? Is there a number to call?

        • There is discussion about this on the next page.

  • Can this purchase (Gift Cards) be used at JB-HiFi ?

    • +1

Yes. You can use it just like a Mastercard.

      • Thanks, I need to buy something from JB for around 500 so looking for a deal, saving and how can i maximize this purchase. :)

        • I belive this offer ends today right ?

        • +3

If you can act fast, here are some tips:

          • Go to Coles first and purchase Coles Mastercard gift cards, ensuring you scan your Flybuys card. (If you see $100 Coles Mastercard gift cards, you're very lucky. I have only seen the old $100 Coles Gift Mastercards during this sale!)

          • Once that is done, go to Woolworths and purchase Ultimate Teens, Home or Kids gift cards and pay for them using the Coles Mastercard gift cards, ensuring you put the Coles Mastercard gift cards through the transaction as a Card, not a Gift Card. Additionally, remember to scan your Everyday Rewards card before you finalise payment.

This is admittedly a bit of hassle (especially with the limited time you have before Coles and Woolworths stores close, since both offers end when stores close tonight), so you're possibly better off going straight to Woolworths and purchasing a variable denomination Ultimate Teens, Kids or Home gift card and loading $500 on one of them (or whatever amount you're looking to purchase from JB Hi-Fi). Just keep in mind:

          • You can redeem an unlimited number of Ultimate gift cards in-store at JB Hi-Fi, but

          • You can only redeem one Ultimate gift card online at JB Hi-Fi… unless you go through the hassle of converting some Ultimate gift cards into JB Hi-Fi gift cards first.

Alternatively, you can have a look on the discounted gift card wiki to see whether you have access to a gift card portal that sells JB Hi-Fi gift cards at a discount everyday.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks for the tip Wookie but unfortunatly i am at work finish at 11:00 pm and by the time i will reach coles it will be 11:30 pm so it's hard for me to do this, i might be able to get Coles Mastercards from Coles only, Thanks again!

          • +1

@WookieMonster: On the contrary I haven't seen the old style MCs, most stores I've been to have already changed over to the new packaging.

I must have been very lucky to have been able to pick up 2 more $100 cards earlier today to round up 5 cards on my FB card!

            • @Craze: I don't know why they still have the old cards on display. I tried to purchase one and the POS said it was invalid stock.

  • +3

Just a warning, a friend got the card he bought this week used in Guzman Y Gomez which is an Australian burger shop.

It is highly likely that is MOTO (order over the phone) order because you will need CVV number for online transaction but you don't need to input CVV for MOTO transaction. They must have exploited some loophole to test out the card number. These American companies really need to disable transaction that doesn't requires CVV.

If this is not MOTO order then the issue is even more serious since they had somehow obtained the full card detail that can even be used online especially with the current tamper-proof packaging.

  • Is anyone still waiting for points shopped on last day of the deal (Tuesday)??? Usually it come next day after 5 but this time ….nit yet!!!’

    • bought some on Monday. No points yet

      • Thts very strange!!!!

      • Monday pts arrived on time.

    • +1

Same as me and no points yet

EDIT Just checked and they are reflecting on my flybuys account now. Must’ve updated at 5pm.

  • +1

    Finally points are here.

  • I couldn’t buy any cards. No stock anywhere since the deal came out

  • +3

Just an update. A credit to Heritage Bank. They rectified the issue by themselves (without me contacting them)

    Screenshot (before)
    https://imgur.com/a/fRMNneQ

    Screenshot (after)
    https://imgur.com/a/gYZpEvv
Heritage Bank reversed the unauthorized transaction that is still pending, and applied credit for the unauthorized transaction that already went through

    • +2

You need to put credit where credit due. It is NOT the bank who reverse it. It is the merchant system that has rejected the transaction.

So the authorisation transaction just disappear after 7-15days. It has never successfully gone through at the merchant.

If the pending transaction doesn't get posted after 3 days, it is highly likely it will disappear after 7-10days. But this means that the card has been compromised and you should quickly use up the balance inside NOW.

  • +1

My card has been hacked. The new $100 card purchased during this offer.

    PENDING - SERVERBLEN* SERVERBLEN - O400266BAB15
    - $2.48
ServerBlend | Five-Star Game Server Hosting.
Used up the remainder and will monitor if refunded.

    • Far out, these cards always has issues

      • O1V/Vanilla seem to be more secure in comparison.

        • +2

nothing is more secure, when they have sold more cards there will be the same issue.

The problem is deeply rooted at Visa/MC network for processing transactions without CVV number. Until either Visa/MC stop it the problem won't be solved.

I'm not sure if issue bank can reject transactions that doesn't pass through CVV number or they still rely on the Mastercard system.

          • +1

@samehada: Energy AU does not require CVV for payment, but scammers wont do it for obvious reason. Other energy companies may not require it, either.

I think card issuer should only allow certain merchants not ask for CVV, e.g. government related service, utilities accounts that have real names attached.

            • @Neoika: There is no obvious reason for not using CVV number, just blanket ban it.

          • @samehada: Yes, O1V/Vanilla seem to decline more unsecure transactions, making the cards accepted at fewer places but safer. It is a trade-off they have to make.

    • +1

      Hi @yola
I posted in a separate forum as my $250 coles mastercard got hacked, almost all $250 drained out with only $4-5 left

Pls let me know your outcome and whether you gst reimbursed for your loss.. It seems the customer service are unhelpful.

Also, i recognise that above transaction you mentioned , serverblen, as that came out in my card as well + a massage place

      • GST? I don't think prepaid cards attracted GST when you bought them?

        • Sorry typo.. meant to say "whether you got reimbursed"

          • +1

@rockybalboa: I am sure eventually you will be, just takes some time. Chargeback/dispute process is pretty standard.

            • @truetypezk: Yeah hopefully, I don't mind how long it takes as long as i get my money. It's just frustrating,
you don't expect this to happen.

      • rockybalboa - Just checked. The pending charge of $2.48 has disappeared and now it shows that as a balance. I spent the rest when I saw the card was compromised. Are your fraudulent charges pending if not you need to take action. People usually get their money back but need to be persistent.

      • +1

Same, one of my $250 card was hacked by Healthy Land Massage for $218 on 26 August. I called the Customer Service last night and was told I will receive a form. But I haven't received it yet. If still no form this afternoon, I will call back with the case number.

        • +1

Maybe they spelt your email wrong. I had to spell out each letter, H for hotel, E for echo etc.

  • +1

Beware everyone, check your balance. Two of my MasterCard have been hacked as well.

Both form the same massage place - HEALTHY LAND MASSAGE, and some small transactions $218.

I bought these on June 2022, issued by Heritage bank.

    Screenshot:
    https://imgur.com/a/lFsDtuT

I contacted customer service phone no - (07)5660xxxx, and they are Incomm, not Heritage Bank. They sent me a 'Dispute Packet' form and I filled them out and sent them back. I haven't gotten a confirmation email yet. Called them back, and they asked me to wait 10 business days to get the confirmation email.

@totomvn Just wondering, did u contact Heritage Bank or the phone on the back of the package?

    • @broot I didn't contact Heritage Bank. Somehow they resolved the issue by themselves.

However, in my case I found out the hack early on and emptied the card immediately. So the illegal transaction were only $4 something in total.

Given your case involves a lot of money, definitely chase them. These cards are just too much trouble.

    • +1

I also called this customer service phone last night, but haven't received the 'Dispute Packet' form. Will call them again this afternoon if still not received.
Me too, HEALTHY LAND MASSAGE for $218.

      • I called the customer service again and was told I need to wait up to 5 business days to receive the Dispute form. Because their system has some issue and can't send out the form.

        • +4

          @totomvn and @fornever17 @broot

Pls see my separate post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/721415

I noticed the fraudulent transaction on one of my $250 cards last week relating to HEALTHY MASSAG and immediately called the customer service per the 07 number on the back of my card. I didnt get anywhere with them & got the run around so i called the Heritage complaints number listed on the packing slip inside the box who were much more helpful.

I received a call sometime this wk from a member of the complaints team at Heritage who advised they are aware of the issue of the fradulent HEALTHY MASSAGE transactions as it has apparently effected a few cards and are in the process organising a replacement card for me.

I would recommend reaching out to them
          Regards sylvester

          • @rockybalboa: Thank you! I called Heritage Bank number 1800 7*** and they direct me to InComm. I will send a complaint email to Heritage as mentioned in your post. Thank you again!
