Then it's terrible for him? Opposite outcome to what he seeks. p.s. he doesn't sweat.

When is mother's day? Is this good to lock for the drawer where mummy keeps her special torch?

      • This thing is awesome. Easy integration with Home Assistant too!

Looks like it only works with the app (no integration with anything else), and phones home to China to get the unlock code every time you want to unlock it.

    • If it works with mi home then google and iOS home kits will work too

According to the review from the first comment

The lock is (hopefully for now) incompatible with the Xiaomi Mi Home app.

        • Cheers, saved me $16.90

Do you ever put on the tinfoil hat somedays and wonder what it would be like if we went to war with China… they could access all these devices that phone home at the push of a button. Maps of places with robot vacs, surveillance through security cameras, locking and unlocking places remotely… the list goes on.

Got a camera that phoned home from Bunnings - logged in as a developer through the Tuya european server and with just the serial number and no other security I could control the camera completely including reprogramming it, moving it and scheduling recording remotely. There was no physical indication from the camera any changes had been made.

What happens when the battery is dead? Does it unlock itself when the voltage is at a certain level or does it remain locked?

    • +7

      You throw out the drawer.

    • Happened to me once with an office steel safe…

You get to choose what happens:

Set the option so that the lock is transferred to the unlocked state if the battery is too low.

  • Any recommendation for an affordable smart lock that support integration with Alexa?
