cheers just ordered a pair in 14 hopefully the sizing is accurate :)

i dont know who in earth came up with the sizing standard US AU EU.. totally random number, different brand will have slight differences, male vs female etc etc

why not just use Centimetre ? no need confusions, or male female thing. one number for all…

        • +16

          seppo moment

        • -3

This is a true comment, not sure why you got so thoroughly downvoted. Probably by the same people who think that all countries use kilometres. Oh to run a mile in their shoes.

      • +3

Japan uses cm. But, yes, everyone else is all over the place, in a way

US size: 3 times the length of the foot in inches less a constant (22 for men and 21 for women).

UK, same as US except the constant is 23 for both men and women (hence why US men's sizes are 1 more than UK; and womens are 2 more).

EUR: 1.5 times the length in centimeters, plus 2 (for comfort) ie: 24-centimeter foot = size 38 shoe

        Easy!

        • +3

The problem is us 9 for nike may differ from us 9 from some local brand at target.

If eveyone use cm then it will be the same.
And we haven't talk about male and female sizes

          • +1

@CyberMurning: Even the same brand can have different sizes from year to year and model to model.

My partner ordered Ecco shoes online and they came in comically different size to her old shoes from Ecco.

          • -1

@CyberMurning: Yeah I honestly don't understand why shoes need to be gendered, especially the sizes if they're a style then whatever. I just want the length and width (heel & ball) then I can just measure my foot and buy a shoe that fits it.

Maybe ISO or some standardisation body can introduce it. Or if we don't have an Aussie size maybe we can introduce it here and slowly enforce mandatory labelling laws (even if it starts with just a sticker on the box).

        • Korea uses millimeters. So one would expect the conversion factor between Japanese and Korean shoe sizes is just a matter of multiply / divide by 100…
If you search Google Images for shoe conversion charts that include Japan and Korea, you'll note most of the charts don't equate Japanese and Korean shoe sizes correctly, presumably because of rounding, and worse, they all disagree on the conversion from JP/KR to UK/US.

      • This 100%. I was thinking this exact thing when buying workwear. Pants sizes can be done really well, they've got the waste and then you have stout, long and regular depending on leg size (also in cm). Clothing is about the only industry that uses cm funnily enough (and schools I guess), if anyone knows more I'm all ears.

It'd be good if shoes had length of foot (+ room) in cm and the width of the heel so people with more wide/narrow feet can get what they need.

I hope one day manufacturers can just start doing this (even in combination with other sizes initially) so we can start phasing them out.

    • I think this is UK size

  • +5

I find with a lot of these cheaper shoes, particularly Adidas, there's simply not enough padding towards the front of the shoe.

Does anyone else find the same?

    • +10

they are just fashion shoes. or say 80% fashion 20% functional.
maybe the very high end models are still good the rest are rubbish.
same like nike, puma, nb and the rest.

get mizuno if you need good shoes

      • +3

You are right that you need to spend more. I bought Ultraboosts and they have lasted me about 3-4 years so far and I absolutely trash them in running, in the garden etc. They are still going.

        • -1

well just logic, if you see some pretty boy girl wearing them on the ad then probably the shoes are good for shopping at the malls

          • -1

@CyberMurning: I never understood the trend in ultra white shoes. They pretty much can't be worn outside/rain. They're so popular though

      • +1

        Merrell are good too!

    • +1

Not just padding, Adidas tends to be on the narrow side even when it says its neutral or normal width. My toes weren't liking them.

    • +1

low-end shoes, even from the big names, are always disappointing. i notice that if the rrp's around $100 it's bound to be crap.

  • Thanks….got one

  • +15

Have to say I bought these ones with white stripes in another deal for $40 and they are rubbish. Better off spending $70-90 on some other deal for shoes that actually last. They have 0 support, the fabric is very thin and flimsy, air and water comes through like you're not wearing anything. They get stretched out super easily especially if youre like me and don't undo your laces when taking shoes off. 3/10 would not recommend.

    • I agree. I purchased a pair a while back, my first Adidas shoes, and they were a real let down. I can't comment on this particular shoe, but from my experience it was more for the "Adidas look".

    • +2

I actually like them being super breathable so air and water goes straight through them. My feet get hot in most shoes. So having them be super light and breathe is a plus for me.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered a size 13, hope they are true to size! Replacing a pair of Deerupt runners, so don't mind the thin/sock style shoe.

    • +1

hey wont last you very long FYI

      • +1

That's alright, I'm using them to walk (or swim through mud) the dog in Sydney at the moment. So they will get wet and muddy and thrown in the washing machine every week or so. If they last 3 months, I'll be happy!

  • +2

I ordered these and promptly returned them. I have the Ultra 4Ds and X9000L4s and they are amazing. I don't know why Adidas bothers tarnishing their reputation releasing terrible shoes like these.

    • +1

      Agreed, bought and returned.

    • +1

Exactly just sheeps worshipping brand from following Insta ads, a form of brainwashing that no one admits and just negs this comment

  • Out sole looks trash just by the close inpsection of image.

  • Got it for 40$, thanks :-)

I know this is ozbargain and we're all looking for the best deals, but as someone that runs for 3-4 days every week (and have been doing so for the last 5 years), trust me, invest in a good pair of runners if you run often.

I've grown up with knee/joint problems (due to a quick growth spurt) and didn't know what I was missing out on until I bought quality runners. I personally bought the Ghost 13 for like $220 last year at rebel (they're now actually $150 at most places from a quick google search) and have found the cushioning and build design more supportive than anything I've worn.

I'm advocating for those as I own them, but have a proper look and get something that will last if you do, or plan to do, extensive running.

    • +1

    • second this, and not just running but those who do a lot of walking or spend a lot of time on their feet as well.
and don't wear shoes until there's a hole in the bottom (side-eyeing at my younger self, here). as soon as you start feeling pain or regular discomfort in a pair of shoes, ditch them even if the tread's still "fine." it's a sign the cushioning is wearing out and if you keep going, you'll get an injury somewhere down the road.

      • Yeah I'm gonna jump onto this, I wear my shoes down till there's holes as I can kinda get away with it. But definitely when I'm on my feet a lot for work or walking shoes make a massive difference.

When I was walking to school often (45mins/90mins return) I had back pain I didn't even realise was related to my shoes until I got a new pair. They weren't even too pricey at $60 or so but they made a huge difference. I tried on a lot until I found something that was really supportive. It's not always obvious that the pain is related to your shoes either, it's really commonly overlooked. I actually think it matters for young people to some extent also.

Unfortunately it's a bit of a wealth divide for a lot of people. I still don't spend more than $100 on shoes unless they're work boots. The price to quality correlation isn't really there imo. Know this is contradictory to what I just said but its about what fits your foot and if that happens to be a $150 shoe then that's probably the best way to go.

Edit: just wanna add for work boots sock selection is important too. I actually get slightly bigger shoes just so I can wear thick socks (like the bonds explorer ones for example).

    • Yeah to me these are everyday shoes. If I go for a run I have my Mizunos that work with how my foot lands and support me properly. When running there’s a big difference in the shock transferred up the chain too.

  • Run Falcon 2.0 in a previous deal were decent for the money. This shoe looks completely different though

  • Are the sizes in uk size?

  • +1

I bought this shoe last month and returned them. I found it lacked ankle support and outer sole flexibility.

  • +1

    Weak fabric rips too easily

  • Is the size us or UK?

    • +1

Just saw small writing said "for AU refer to US size" in the size chart

  • says US sizing in red letters in the ebay listing

  • Just ordered one then received email cancel from seller.

  • I didn't get monthly $5 coupon for the last month and this month on one of my accounts

  • Order cancelled by seller claiming 'damaged stock'

  • Very uncomfortable shoes, need a pair of $17 shoe insole to make them work.

  • Could probably combo with afterpay $30 off $50 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/698989 or $10 bano referral https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/711564 or both…?

  • -1

Close to Target prices might bite lolz

    Edit: bookmarked πŸ‘πŸ˜

  • Returned right away.. The heel is very elevated, something is wrong with the insole, unwearable shoes.

  • Received today, and happy with purchase.

  • Received today and have worn them all day with no issues. They are a bit smaller than standard sizes, the US13 feels a bit tight but I'll break them in and see.
