Lol pretty sure these are normally used when throwing big parties, not for you to eat dinner out of daily
Good if you’re starting a new jail. Or restaurant.
100% natural, biodegradable and compostable: made from sugarcane leftovers
Just out of interest: are your products 100% sugarcane pulp as you imply, or do they contain wood pulp also… I notice similar products from other companies are 80% sugarcane pulp & 20% wood pulp…
Hi Flickit, we assure you that our products are made out of 100% sugarcane pulp leftovers known as bagasse and are commercially compostable.
I also wonder how much of a rounding error there is in these "100%" sugar cane claims. There are obviously some binders/adhesives/glues to keep it all together, or even if there aren't meant to be, for something made in China, where performance beats health, what they actually use, and how much ends up in your food.
I do realise it's slightly tinfoil hat, but I mean, it's China lol. Some caution is warranted =P
Interesting, being sugar cane waste I just assumed these were Aussie made, it didn't cross my mind they were Chinese made, lol …
It turns out the other 80/20 sugar/wood pulp ones I was looking at are Chinese made also…

(I have no interest in buying a product like this, I just thought it was a cool use of a waste product)
Are you 100% sure it isn't cornstarch based?

Yes, we are the first one to make this design in Sugarcane packaging. Thanks
Also worth noting, this company claim:
made from sugarcane leftovers and can be thrown in the recycling/composting bin
It seems these can't be thrown in recycling or composting bins everywhere…
Bagasse is a pulp-based cardboard-like compostable material made from sugar cane fibres. It is not accepted in ACT household recycling or green waste bins.

I think I will just wash my plates.
