It's security though obscurity. As soon as thieves recognise eufy cameras all have the same exploit, it's no longer secure. When that happens is a good question though
Can they patch this function through firmware?
i've not completely read up on this, from what i read, it's not an issue if you send the video to a NAS capture device? or that reset also wipes what's streamed to the NAS too?

I've been researching video doorbells lately so just a quick FYI to say that whilst the features and image quality of the Eufy cams looks great (incl not needing a subscription) - I don't believe they've yet fixed the glaring security hole the Eufy cameras (including the doorbell versions) appear to have (and have had for over a year)
i.e. you just need to press and hold the reset button on the camera for ten seconds and it not only resets the camera and disconnects it from the HomeBase but it also removes the camera from the HomeBase and deletes all the saved footage. So having that HomeBase safely inside the home isn't much use if it can be remotely wiped from the camera
