That price has gone up, when I ordered mine from them it only cost around $30. They jacked up the price for that last 30% off sale or something and never dropped it back down.

    • I noticed that too, the last sale already ended before I found the deal on here. Since then I have been searching for them and considering buying them.

Today I found this deal and pulled the trigger to avoid being ripped off on eBay, apparently there are fakes on there.

    • Thats what i thought! I missed the last really good sale and have checked MyMemory on and off since then. I'm sure the regular price was 22 or 23 UK pounds. Sale price was about 18 pounds i think.

Yeah… bit dearer than last time - awesome headphones.

  • Still good price. I purchased mine 3 years ago when it was 80$, still in good working condition now.

  • shame there so bloody ugly…

    • These first came out in 1984. Ideally I would be looking to pay under $30 bucks but I would replace at this price if needed. My last pair was about 18 months ago for 17.99 GBP delivered in the UK. A web search also points to a well regarded lifetime warranty also? I have never needed to use this.

    • Duplicated post

  • I have 2 pairs… Forget the looks, these are awesome awesome sounding headphones. If you are a headphone show pony look elsewhere. From the if it ain't broke don't fix it school of product design.

  • Purchased the Portapros not so long ago and quickly followed this with popular Sennheiser model sourced OzBargain(MyMemory). IMHO, you get more balanced, clean and punchier sound from the HD201 'phones- reviewed by cnet, and available from jbhifi same cost delivered.

He said arguably, its all up to preference.

    • Will be adding those creative's onto my shortlist for sure - thanks for a worthy find. Of course as always, take in buyer reviews and certainly take note from the audiophiles, before arriving on your desired sound signature.

    • aero8 is right. The only thing Porta Pro has on CAL! is portability.

      Two CAL! for AUD$110.

  • Worst thing about these headphones is will make your pc speakers look bad, had better sound then my altec lansing bassxpression (100 odd at msy) and my mates logitec 5.1's… was 30 bucks too
