thanks will get 1 - was going to get a plastic wheelbarrow for light green waste but this might be the go

    Cheers OP ;)

  • Wheels look a little small - can this get around a garden bed OK or does in only work on flat surfaces?

I have one and it needs fairly level ground. Nothing stopping you moving it by picking up the handle though.

If you plan to get one, make sure you check the handles. Last time when I was in my local Bunnings, all their stocks had a broken handle.

    • The first few in the rack at my local had Broken handles but I dug deeper and the ones down the back were in good nick

      • All the ones at my local Bunnings were sans wheels.

  • I was going to say, it make a great party open Esky, but Bunnings already has a pic of it being used as such.

    Good marketing

Not sure why this exists. It looks like those tiny plastic wheels will get bogged. And then when you try to actually use the thing, the plastic body will just break because you put a shovel in without extreme caution.

For me, I'll stick with the metal wheelbarrow for the extra $100 thanks.

I've used one before and it's taken quite a beating. Yeah it doesn't wheel the best if you load it up with a bunch of soil or something, but I've got no qualms with it.

      Designed for a different purpose.

Important to understand how & when to use your tools! So you don't wreck them (as you suggest) or injure yourself!

Have a sturdy old steel wheelbarrow, passed down to me from my garden loving Grandfather who trained me.

And now this. Used elderly neighbour's one & have wanted one ever since!
Understand why it's far easier for them to use than a big wheelbarrow. They also use it to cart shopping from car into house.

It's a matter of using the appropriate tool for the task & person…
For heavier landscaping - I use the dependable wheelbarrow.
For light weight planting & maintenance activities like pruning & carting tools etc around - much easier to use this cart.

Just been using this in my overgrown & rain sodden garden. Wheeled around easily. Didn't get bogged.
      Love it.

    Greenleaf Wheelie Cart 48L $18

    • Because that's who Bunnings are price matching. Online order for c&c only near me, then wait for store to call.

Nearest Mitre10 has no stock (2-5d wait) & is so many km away. Bunnings is a short walk & had so many in stock.

Bought, put wheels on @Bunnings & wheeled it home.

Used in garden. Very happy with it👍

  • Ideal coffee knock box?

I had one of these once - just kept falling over as the handle side is much heavier than the other side. Bad design IMO.

There are at least 4 products of similar design. All designed to easily tip out contents - by laying the handle down.

Had borrowed more expensive one from neighbours - liked it. Wanted one.
But they warned me about it tipping when empty. (To avoid that, they keep gardening stuff in it when not in use.)

Just bought this one. Walked it home with shopping from Bunnings - a good test.
No tipping issue when empty. Seems well balanced, if on non-sloping floor.

But tipping when not in use is easy to solve:
leave something in it / stand or hang against a wall etc / add a small counterweight (in/under base or under front rim) to balance handle.

Also add washers between wheels & cart to allow wheels to spin easier. That was other issue complained about in Bunnings reviews.

      • Found the ideal storage spot in my crowded garage. Upside down over handle of rarely used hand cart. Takes up almost no extra space & easy to get to. No chance of falling over.
        Very pleased with this purchase👍

  • We use it when the month has an R in it to wheel stuff to the local jetty and catch blue/sand crabs. Great for putting fishing gear, crab nets etc.

    • Good one! Just realised that the 4 colder months are the only ones without R.
