  • Thanks OP, looks to be a steal at this price for Handcrafted.

  • Thanks OP. Just finished Queen's Gambit so it's a must have :)

  • Back in stock

  • oos again :(

Too small. Go with a regular chess set.

This might be controversial, but I think the design is hideous.
Pick the Staunton, which is frequently used in competitions.

    • +1

Agree. The numbers and letters on the board look amateurish - so people say it's hand made and unique.

    • Also agree. The pieces don't look too bad except for the king and queen (WHY put white bits on the black pieces and vice versa?!) but the board is ugly as. You most definitely can't go wrong with a Staunton set.

What's a good wooden set that you guys recommend for someone who missed out?

  • Go next generation. Been a long wait (kickstarter campaign) but I should be getting my boards soon

    • How does it move the knight when it's boxed in?

      • I was in the middle of typing the same question. Maybe it can awkwardly diagonally move it between pieces if the bases are the same diameter?

      • +1

You can see at 1:16 in the video that pieces can move around other pieces. You can also see a knight moving at 1:21.

  • I would of been interested, been a while since I've seen similar chess sets on sale.

  • Handmade for $63…

    Found an alternative here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Chess-Set-Tournament-Staunton-Comp…

    Pieces look nicer imo (Staunton)

    • Thanks! The pieces definitely look nicer but it's $154. Is there anything close to it in quality at a lower price?

      • It was $104 2 minutes ago thanks to prime day. That's unfortunate :(
