Calling all mini painters or, more importantly, those thinking of dipping their toes in.
This is some INSANE value for all the paints you need to get started in a big way.
Considering that these paints sell individually for $6 each, getting the bulk price of the box with an extra 20% off RRP (usually $220.95) you would be crazy to say no! This works out to just $2.96 per bottle! Look at me, mathing like a champ. Mum would be proud.
But she isn't, because i spend all my money on hobby supplies. SHUT UP MUM, YOU'RE NOT MY MUM!!

Description from Amazon:
WHILE OTHER PAINT SETS REQUIRE EXTENSIVE SHAKING - Our rust-free mixing balls allow you to stir up pigments that settle at the bottom to get perfect consistency in less time and with less work

WORRIED ABOUT PAINTS DRYING OUT? - Unlike brands who use paint pots, we added enough medium and designed our bottles with dropper caps to limit the air flow and preserve paints for the long haul

HEAVY PIGMENTS & CREAMY CONSISTENCY - allow for excellent coverage, fewer coats, and no loss of detail on your mini. Includes 60 Warpaints: 43 acrylic miniatures paints, 5 metallics, 7 quickshade washes and 5 effects paints

GET MORE PAINT AND STILL SAVE - Our paints come in above average 18ml bottles at half the price of popular model paints for plastic models, who only sell 12ml bottles of paint that tend to dry out quickly.

WE BELIEVE IN PROVIDING PEACE OF MIND - You can worry less about thin or leaky paint focus more on playing Warhammer 40k or Dungeons and Dragons. This mini paint set is perfect for reaper miniatures, battletech miniature, nolzur's marvelous miniatures, and other unpainted miniatures.

I feel like I’m being yelled at.

I also really recommend the Army Painter wet palette.

    • +3

Oh man. That wet palette changed my LIFE.
And you're not being yelled at, you're being enthusiastically accosted.

Don’t take it to heart. OP is possibly one of those retired spruikers from the 90s/00s that used to stand outside $2 stores plying DESIGNER WATCHES, PERFUMES, SURPLUS SURPLUS SURPLUS, ALL STOCK MUST GO!

Ps good value find OP. Also, loved your pre blurb haha

      • +1

I DID spend a year an a half in sales in Telco, which is WAY worse than those surplus people.
        Those were dark times indeed….

There's also a checkbox to apply a $13 coupon at checkout, making it $163.76.

A mini painter myself and I would avoid getting paint set and recommend only getting colours you need especially if you are starting out.

Different brands have strength and weaknesses for different colour and its important to find the one that works for you. I own Vallejo, Scale75, citadel pots and army painter paints.

Point is, avoid getting sets and go for individual paints because you get better milliage out of them.

Essential colours to get when starting out: black, off-white/ ivory (avoid white from all brands), blood, leather, some metallic like gold and steel, shades and a few colour of your choice to paint the minis you have.

Usually I might agree with you, to a degree.
But mini painting is a hella intimidating hobby to get into and one of the barriers is cost of paint combined with the confusion of which paints to buy. For pretty much anyone starting out a starter set gives a good range of colours at a discount, which can then be added to or experimented with when people feel more confident.
The benefit of a pack like this is it's complete confidence that you will have a full spectrum of colours and it will most definitely last you throughout all your early experiments and prevent annoying trips to the shop to buy more paints.

So, yes, when you have some experience, expanding with specific colours from multiple brands is best - but the value of something like this can't be understated, especially for those that want to start trying out painting as a family (ie. parents involving their kids).

I see where you are coming from but $160+ is a very big budget to drop on a hobby like this just to test the waters.

I guess it depends on individual budget. If you do have the money to fork out for peace of mind, I can't deny the value in this.

But want to bring up that if you are on a tighter budget, you can put together your own set with brush, paint, mold line removal for under $80

        • Oh, no doubt. I'm more talking about those that want to get into the hobby with full peace-of-mind so they can dive in deep. For those people you can't get better value than this.
But, yes, on a tight budget you could go a lot cheaper and still get a good variety.

PS. I hope by mold line removal you mean a hobby knife and not the citadel mold line remover haha

@chul00p4: I got a Japanese one in a hobby shop for around $8. Definitely not citadel ones if on budget and definitely not the citadel mini holder. Bottle cap and blu tack is the way to go

  • Any warhammer starter packs or similar on sale? Need to something to paint if going to buy this set.

    • Not on Amazon, from what I could find.
I can strongly recommend checking out mperor.cc, though, for steeply discounted sets.

Just thought i would also add, if you want something a little cheaper than warhammer, check out some of Mantic Games' offerings. Games Empire is probably one of the cheapest for this.
The Deadzone 2 player starter box is just $129.99 down from $179.99 and includes rules, 2 forces and terrain. It's an EXCELLENT lightweight and inexpensive skirmish game.
There is also the Kings of War 2 player starter for $114.99 which has 2 armies and rules. The game is similar to the old rank-and-file version of Warhammer.

+1 to mperror.cc. you could give gap games a crack to! got my space elves from them for a decent price.

    • Elegoo mars 3 is on sale btw

  • I don’t think the deal is good enough to be posted on it’s own, but the wet palette is also on sale now. The bundle with hydro pack is also having a flash sale.
