Was looking for more philips hue items to work with my philips hue accessories and found this.

Looks good in the review photos and seems to be able to replace rgb strips in a few cases. Can be voice activated and connects with Apple homekit, Google home, Alexa like most other philips hue products.

Seems to also be at a good price thanks to Prime day sales.

Alternatively the one pack comes in a slightly lower discount here.

  Can these be used on its own without Hue play box? I already have a bridge setup and a few hue light bulbs installed.

    Yes they can.
    Hue play box only needed if you want your hdmi signal to show color effects on these based on displayed picture.
    But you can also use a Philips software to simulate the play box but only if you play your videos using a laptop.

      Hue sync ap needs the hue sync box, on android at least.

    Seems like that is still the sales price but isn't the 'Prime exclusive deal' price. Although my honey extension does suggest a 24% price decrease instead of the advertised 36% on Amazon.

  Also worth noting is that the one pack version listed in the description includes the power unit, so it can be used standalone. You can also buy a one pack 'extension' that doesn't include the power unit, and therefore needs you to already have the one or two pack that does include the power unit.

  The power unit that comes with either the one or two pack in this deal can have up to three play bars plugged into it.
