All time low for this card I believe (based on this search: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/sandisk-high-endurance-…). I paired it up with the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo deal posted earlier today.

Been waiting for the Samsung Endurance Pro 128gb to go on sale to put into my dashcam.

What are people's thoughts on the Sandisk?

    • +2

Same. I was shopping for a Samsung Endurance for prime day….

      • Hahah we both probably refreshing waiting for it to drop under $30!

    • +4

I've had the 64gig variant of this card in my Viofo dashcam for some 3 years now, never had any problems..

      • Thank you for the feedback! Might go ahead and bite the bullet on it

      • I've had this exact 128Gb card in my Viofo A129 for 2 years with no issue.

I scored 2 of the samsungs at hardly normals a couple weekends back, were on clearance for $34 each, sales guy gave me 2 for $60. So far so good.

Sorry noob here - how do these compare to the Samsung Evo Plus? e.g. https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Memory-Adapter-Limited-War…

    • These are high endurance cards so they are designed to be used in devices which are writing heaps of data all the time: dashcams and surveillance cameras. The Evo Plus series are just "regular" cards which are not designed for that, so they're cheaper — if you're a risk-taker then you might get away with using them for dashcams etc but they are more likely to fail earlier.

  • is this good with go pros?

Samsung 128gb Pro Endurance was $29 just a couple of weeks ago @ TGG. JB were happy to price match.
My experience is that Samsung are more reliable than Sandisk. YMMV.

    • Ordered those and still waiting for them! Seems they went OOS and are discontinued product.

    • +1

For anyone curious, the SanDisk are rated at 20,000 hours of writes. The Samsung is rated for 70,000 hours

  • Is this also high performance? How would it go in say a DJI Mini 3?

    • Hi performance mean jackshit, they're all the same just marketing bullshit from manufacturer to justify their refusal to reduce price. The amount of stress most card goes through in video writing devices like dashcam is nothing compared to something inside a raspberry pi. A drone probably thousand times less.

      • +3

It means a lot if it needs to record 4k 60 consistently for every drone flight.

      • +3

A dashcam is constantly writing videos. If you have park mode enabled, the car could easily crack 65 degrees, on top of the heat put out of the dashcam itself. My card is so hot after parking in summer, you can barely handle it.

High endurance cards generally have lower read / write speeds than proper high performance cards. They are designed to endure constant writes for a long time.

I hate marketing BS, but I think in this situation, there is some truth to it.

        • +1

Cheaper one is QLC, endurance would be TLC or even MLC.

  • Would this be ok for nintendo switch?

    • +2

More than enough actually, you'd probably just want to go for higher capacity rather than high endurance.
High endurance is usually a thing you'd want for recording video particularly 4K.

      • OK thanks, seems to be some good deals for that purpose too. Cheers.

  • Has anyone used these without issue in Blackvue dashcams?

  • The Max Endurance 128GB is also reduced to $35. $30.10 if it was tracked by the Cashrewards 14% CB.

  • +1

Was going to price beat at Officework and they have reduced the price too

  • Purchased at this price this morning. So many SanDisk deals!

I paired it up with the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo deal posted earlier today.

I hope this is compatible as I'm doing the same with my A129

FYI Sandisk High Endurance has a lifetime rating of 20,000 hours whereas the Sandisk Max Endurance has a lifetime rating of 120,000 hours… for the 64gb version there was only $10 difference so I went with that for 6 times the lifespan :)

128gb is $15 more but again you get 6x rated lifespan so cheaper in reality imo

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B084CJ9T2R/

    • Sorry to burst yr bubble but hours rating is dependent on capacity.
      For Max endurance:
      Up to 120,000 hours for 256GB; 60,000 hours for 128GB; 30,000 hours for 64GB; and 15,000 hours for 32GB.

      • +2

Actually sorry to burst your bubble its actually 6x higher rated lifetime hours at any capacity but yes the hours do reduce with size, my statement on longevity is correct regardless of size from a relative perspective.

        High Endurance rated hours

        Up to 20,000 hours for 256GB; 10,000 hours for 128GB; 5,000 hours for 64GB; and 2,500 hours for 32GB.

    • $15 more is almost double the price for the 128gb?

      • But 2 years warranty vs 10 years.

  • Just received the wrong card. Was sent a 128 extreme pro instead of a high endurance…

    • Is that better or worse?

      • Value better, but worse for my application lol
