Target is clearing the Razor A5 Lux scooter for $71.20. Only available in ghastly orange with light up wheels. We were able to use our sign up voucher to bring down the price another $10.
Next cheapest I could find was $99 + Shipping at Toy's R Us. Supposedly the RRP for the Razor A5 Lux is $179.99, but you'll be hard pressed to find anyone selling it anywhere near that price.
Would have been great to have a choice in color but can't complain at this price.
Don't get me wrong I do like orange. My glasses are black and orange. I bought the scooter for my wife and was looking for something a bit more subdued. I don't think she'll appreciate the colour scheme let alone the flashing lights. This is more of an intro to scooters before we perhaps get an electric one down the track. She wanted to see what they were like and she's also read the stories about the fires…
I honestly don't know anything about scooters. I just typed in best kick scooter in google and the Razor A5 Lux came up in multiple lists. I just googled it and it popped up as a clearance item at Target. That is my entire experience with scooters. Well, I did buy and put together a different scooter (also on clearance from Costco) for my son which he is too young to ride. I pushed him around on it for a minute or two to make sure it worked then put it away until he grows into it. Does that count?? ; )
You only want to use these on smooth paths. With these tyres you can feel every bump on the road. Pneumatic tyres are better for every day use.
We're really not very adventurous. I don't think we'll be doing anything other than footpaths and netball courts etc. Luckily the footpaths around us are getting an upgrade too. Should be very smooth when they finally finish everything. :)
They will be functionally identical, except for the light up wheels on the Razor, which I also expect will have a slightly better finish/construction, but that’s pure conjecture.

Tbh, the other one that was linked above also looks like a bargain! Went with the razor purely due to good experiences with them in the last.
Razor does seem to come up a lot when you try to look up scooters. Probably best to go with a well known brand for our first.
