Back on sale is the 6GB/128GB version of the popular Lenovo P11 tablet which is really good value if you're shopping on a budget as it handles gaming quite well and good for media playback. Reviews are linked below.

Featuring Android 10 (Android 11 via OTA), 11" 2K 2000x1200 IPS 400nits display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 CPU with Adreno 610 GPU, Widevine L1 DRM for Amazon/Netflix HD, 7700mAh battery with QC 3.0 fast charging, 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos, 8MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, WiFi 5, BT 5.1, GPS, Pogo Pins for keyboard case, USB-C and PC mode.

For reviews I recommend checking out ETA Prime as it shows general usage, video playback, gaming and emulation. Just note ETA Prime reviews the 4GB/64GB version so the 6GB/128GB should perform a bit better.

Why down vote? Generally wondering if the standards of tablet having sufficient network connection is not important? :-)

      • +2

Because Wifi tablets are cheaper than Cellular tablets. There is a P11 LTE version. The downvotes are just due to it being low effort comment.

  • Do these get deleivered earlier than the estimated timelines. Wanting to claim GST when I travel in a months time

    • Does it meet the GST claim minimum?

      • +1

I am planning to order 2 of these which takes the total above the 300 threshold

        • +1

My tablet from a similar seller took 9 days (standard shipping)

        • +2

You cannot claim TRS from non Australian businesses.

          • +2

@Indomietable: And yet we pay the GST on these items don't we? :(

            • +1

@PotPlant: You don't pay the GST. The business pays GST from import tariff and duty and passes it over to you.

            • @PotPlant: Yup! I learned the hard way. Check my post history as I tried to do the same.

    • +4

Mine took 27 days from order to delivery, from this seller, in May this year.

      • Yup, slow to ship out for me. Ordered a week go and still pending confirmation is even shipped.

  • This or keep my Samsung Tab S3 with LineageOS?

    • +2

Somehow, I think your S3 will be a far surperior device…….or at leat feel it!.

    • +1

Family have the s3. Tab s3 runs smoother and feels premium over this. It’s something about the glass that makes the Lenovo feel less premium, and touch screen less responsive.

I bought the Lenovo p11 from a previous clear deal as my first trial of android coming from all iOS devices.
The Lenovo is great for watching content with its screen aspect, and I’m learning android as I use it. Not bad. I didn’t have any widevine issues buying from this seller on Ali express.

Is there any recommendations for 8inch tablet? I find 11 inches too large for use when I am on my bed.

I find 11 inches too large for use when I am on my bed.

      That's what she said.

      • Should have seen this coming lol

Look at a S6 Lite, it has fairly small bezels so might suit.

      • Still feels a little too big

    • If you can live with the extra 0.7" (1.8cm), the Samsung A7 Lite is a recommendation. Can be had for just under $200 when it's on sale.

      • Not the same hardware specs unfortunately.

        • +1

Yeh you notice it, everything feels a little slow to respond.

          • @AEKaBeer: Is it really slow?

            • @Jakukusonu: Everything runs, it's just not very responsive. My 69 year old dad uses it for zoom calls with family, so he's fine with it but compared to my 4 year old mi pad 4, it's a snail.

Hows this compare to a Surface Pro 4

  • Hi guys, just a question in general - Are these devices safe to use considering these have been opened and the installed with a global ROM by the seller.
I understand that the googles and the apples track us all the time but I don't want another one on the list who maybe tracking the device.
I am planning to buy one for my parents who have no tech background but will be mostly using it for checking gmail, watching youtube or video calls and the likes.
    Thanks

    • Then pay the premium domestically. Only $100-200 extra how much is that worth in terms of your privacy?

      • Thanks.I can pay that amount and even much higher than that. However is this the general understanding in terms of privacy with anyone who is buying this.

        • +1

If you paranoid about data leaking then don't use your actual accounts linked or use a password manager like Bitwarden. Set up email forwarding to a new email for the device and all that and don't do any banking changes on the device only viewing and all that.

        • +2

Just hard reset it when you get it if you are worried about security. You have to reset it when you set the region to Australia for widevine to work anyway (high def Netflix, Stan etc)

    • +1

I am planning to buy one for my parents who have no tech background but will be mostly using it for checking gmail, watching youtube or video calls and the likes.
      Thanks

I'd be more worried about phone scams for that generation.

Just don't buy any electronic device for your parents. Simple

  • +5

Just feel the need to chime in whenever this is posted that it is a great tablet, and I have overall been happy with it, but it doesn't support Hardware X265 decoding, so if you regularly play (or play at all) x265 files, it will not go well.

Its something that I feel should be mentioned in Clear's posts as it could be a huge deal breaker for many wanting a media consumption device.

    • 662 supports 8 bit HEVC but not 10 bit HEVC hardware decoding based on my research.

      • +1

That is what I read when researching, but with trying basically every possible player I found even 8 Bit HEVC files were unplayable. Has been about 6 months since I tested this though.

    • Yeah I nearly bought this… and I’m heavy x265.

Got the p11 pro old edition (60Hz OLED) and I love IT.

So good. Amazing battery. I don’t read text and watch movies (torrent machine) and it’s perfect.

Netflix etc work in full HD too after an update.

      Really happy with it

      • I nearly got the P11 pro but was put off by the complaints of the Pentile matrix on the display making it look low resolution. Whereas the P11's LCD might not be there in black levels but looks incredibly sharp. But I am really getting sick of having to source different files just for playback on one device, so it is on my list.

        • Yeah fair. Pentile is definitely softer compared to my iPhone Oled … I wish it wasn’t pentile. But watching movies and anime, Legit becomes 0 issues, but 2560 x 1600 almost looks like 720p on the pentile sometimes hahaha.

So much potential! Oh well. 99% of the time I’m watching something from a decent distance away, so I definitely notice the contrast and colours :)

          • @Bisah1342: I guess I do a lot of web browsing etc of my tablet too which is where more of my concern with the pentile display is. I think a P11 Plus with the 750g or jumping to a Xiaomi Pad 5 are probably my options.

            • @witheredcouch: Yeah fair! I’m lucky bc x265 movies was my number 1 thing… and I nearly bought the p11 which doesn’t do it that well.. if at all.

Got lucky :) everyone’s got different goals!

            • @witheredcouch: Did you end up making a decision regarding this? I want a tablet for x265 10bit content and general web browsing, and was thinking about the Xiomi Pad 5. Although the lack of a microSD expansion is annoying, I can get around it.

              • +1

@cevad: Funds went towards a new laptop for uni so just not a priority at the moment, will likely look into it again next time I look to go overseas as most of my media consumption day to day is through my tv. If you find a good option I'd be interested though.

Any deals this month for the Xiaoxin Pad Pro?

  • +1

Shame the keyboards are so expensive. 50% of the cost of the device for the keyboard kinda ruins it lol

    • You're right about that. The coupons never seem to apply on them either.

  • +1

I got this from 2 deals ago 6gb RAM version.

I bought lots of stuff afterwards.

I bought the bluetooth keyboard (Logitech K380) for $50 and works great with it. Obviously, the size is bigger but what I like was, it has 3 profiles, so I can switch from this tablet, to another device.

I also use my Logitech bluetooth Triathlon mouse (also has 3 profiles) and its good when emailing and editing them (e.g. move cursor , edit etc).

I also got a 8bitdo pro2 and put retroarch on tablet for old school console games.

Yes, I have to carry extra stuff, but I only carry it when i want to do work type stuff like emailing.
Otherwise I just use it for Netflix (had to somehow download it and remove old one, can't remember how but googled it) and websurfing and Google maps GPS on holidays (download offline helps too) . Happy with it for the price.

  • The official keyboard and pen direct from Lenovo are on sale at the moment as well

And cashback 12% at CR or 12.5% at SB. Not certain based on categories but I received tracking notification for 12.5% through SB.

    • 5% CB, 5.5% SB at the time of this post

  • Looking for a tablet primarily for streaming Kayo/Prime, should I get this or the Teclast T40 Pro? Leaning towards the Teclast due to the HD issues mentioned

  • Precision Pen 2 is $59.25 on the Education Store.

    Broken when received :(

Bubble wrap is no match for a bunch of careless couriers.

  • I've just received mine…. And have been quite impressed. I haven't run into any issues with widevine and everything updated OTA (took ages to optimise apps though)

May I just ask… if, like in my case, everything seems to be in order, would you recommend me still doing the country code thing, or should I just leave it as is?

    • I did the country code change as soon as mine arrived, and mine works fine, but I don't watch movies on it so don't know about widevine.

  • My tab P11 is offering an update. Should I do it? Will it mess with Widevine?
