I have one on my powerpoint. You just need to position it in a way for it to flick those switches.
This retailer seems to make it pretty clear you can't - how fiddly is the placement to be able to push an Aussie switch? Can yours flick them both on and off? https://www.ozsmartthings.com.au/collections/switchbot/produ…
Can yours flick them both on and off?
Only one way, that is a good point you raise. You could in theory have two of them on the same plate but that's overkill. In app you can name one "on" and other "off".
I use it for a power point wall switch to turn on my electric blanket and flip it off from wall switch manually when I am ready to go bed.
The other one I have is on my aircon panel with a big rubber button which is a better suited switch like your coffee machine example
@Lucille Bluth: Hmm. One way might actually be enough, it would be for our aircon to fir eup in the morning, as it uses a power point wall switch that we can easily turn off once the day warms up.
@y2k: Does the air con actually plug in to a normal power point, if so you might be better off using a smart plug like https://www.bunnings.com.au/arlec-white-grid-connect-smart-p….
Mines been working for month perfectly on a standard light switch. Only need one to turn it on and off. Took a couple tries to get the right position but wasn't difficult
do you have a photo of how you stick it to the rocker mate? i have 2 bots and 1 is not consistently pushing/pulling the rocker. cheers mate
I wonder if sticking some gaffer tape over it might give the bot enough purchase?
Why are you calling it prime day early bird sale when it has nothing to do with Amazon?
Because 11 is a prime, but that's 2 days as way from when this dropped?
More like a poor attempt to cash in on Amazons Prime Day when it has nothing to do with Amazon.
I assume the 50% off bundles are not considered "combos" for the purposes of the free Switchbot and 30% offer?
Also worth pointing out that the SwitchBot lock compatibility list seems restricted to US brands only - certainly not Lockwood. The site tells you to email or WhatsApp or Reddit them with a photo and dimensions of any other lock to ascertain compatibility - but noone got back to me for days, except finally on Facebook messenger after chasing ie you may not get a reply from them during the sale period. I'd be a little nervous about their customer service promptness.
Yup, US use single-cylinder deadbolts a lot, but I haven't seen many here. Compared to installation-free options like the one you've mentioned, Yale, Schlage or Level locks are better suited for aussie market since they can work flawlessly with existing lock holes and should be able to install and restore without too much trouble, especially for those whare renting and can't drill an extra hole on the door.
Unfortunately our apartment complex requires deadlatches that are external to the door itself, not deadbolts. And no existing solution other than this switchbot lock would work - thought the developers finally came back via messenger to say it was not compatible.
This is the same right across the country for fire safety reasons.
Latches requires a lot of force compared to free-moving deadbolts unfortunately. I doubt there are many choices out there for those latches apart from some in-place replacements (that still requires installation - can't be just an add-on).
I used to live in a rented flat that had a deadlatch and got locked out when I throw trashes away because, well, it latches itself 🤦♂️. I really hoped that it can at least opened by a passcode or something.
@xmagic: So you think these latches would be too heavy for this robot switch to turn? They show it working with latches in the US so puzzled way they said mine isn't compatible https://www.switch-bot.com/pages/switchbot-lock
Edit: just did their questionnaire and realised it's because the turning latch itself is a few mm too thick for their adapters. Rats.

It seems the jimmy proof locks are just a deadbolt without spring-back mechanism like a deadlatch.
YMMV but I would not count on it if I were you.
Worth pointing out that the Swithbot itself is not compatible with Australian rocker switches ie the ones we all have on our power points. Fine for push button stuff though eg coffee machines.
