Surfshark VPN: Protecting yourself online has never been so dangerous™️

      🤣🤣…
Am with them. Have had no issues with speeds. Pretty solid. Support is available via chat, which is great.

      • +1

It annoys me that to turn of auto-renew or cancel you have to chat to them.

      • Only problem is they dont provide Wireguard for Wifi modem routers, and the open vpn connection with modem always keep dropping at times (with GL Inet Flint)

        • WireGuard is a router feature. My router only has OpenVPN. Two ways to get a stable connection. Use UDP and get support to secure you a stable server rather than using the configs provided on the website. I didn't have an issue with dropouts, but abandoned the whitelisting setup on Merlin/Entware after a few weeks of experimentation. Finding the right domains to redirect ended up being painful. The Whitelister on Android works per App which is exactly what I needed and speeds are pretty good as well.

Yeah. Never touching Surfshark again. Gotta love the regular log outs. Making the service, app, and killswitch all utterly useless and worthless.

      • It was working well until ver 3.4 …. Or later

      • Running it on Google TV with no issues. Generally logged into US endpointa for 100's of hours at a time. Interventions are very rare. I'm running 6 apps through the split tunnel, with killswitch and auto connect enabled. Protocol hard set to wireguard and use small packets enabled.

Have been with them for the past couple of years.

    Pros: good consistent speeds.
Cons: They recently added their own anti-virus to their windows app. I can't see any way not to install it.
They only recently (today) fixed their kill switch issue which was not reliable.
If you turn off auto renewal on your plan (which you have to ask them to do) then their windows app will constantly nag you.

  • This is a great introduction to VPN for those who dont want to spend a lot to see what all the fuss is about.
Get access to VPN benefits virtually for free… privacy, and of course the ability to see content restricted to other locations (the big win for most people!).

It may not be the VPN you choose in the long run, but I say try before you pay for the rolls royce options that you wont use.

    • I had Nord VPN, but it doesn't support India now, do you have any other recommendations?

  • Why does it now say 96% cashback?

    • Typo!! Thanks for letting me know. Have updated.

  • $66+gst for one year, $81.50+gst for 2 years

    • Is this the price after the cashback?

      • before
No cashback on GST, plus there's some funny business with exchange rates. Still, if the cashback is successful you should end up paying less than $20 out of pocket costs for a 2 year subscription.

  • Dunno if SS is the VPN to go anymore. Their servers to countries aren't even effective anymore. Of course if you check your IP it indicates you're connected. If you choose a different VPN like Bear extension, then it works like wonders

  • Can you select your country as USA to avoid GST and still get cashback?

    • You'll probably find the current offer is selectively offered to AU residents, so by changing your country you'll lose access to the offer and will end up paying full retail without access to any cashback.

      • where exactly does it says

current offer is selectively offered to AU residents "

        ???

  • Is this offer coming back again anytime soon?
