3hrs to charge and only 8min run time…..sounds like a few staff I work with.

do you work in the adult industry?

Battery charge/run times for these things have not improved since I bought my last RC in the 80s.

    • With a decent charger you’d knock charging down to 1hr. Can push it faster with a decent battery too.
Runtime is purely down to capacity vs load. Correctly geared Brushless motors will generally get much better runtime.

    • Should compare how the batteries are charged. An example of a popular 80s RC is the jet hopper which was advertised with a mains power 3-4 hour quick charger for nicad batteries. This wltoys has a 3hour charger that runs off USB. When you use an aftermarket charger not limited by USB, that charge time can be significantly reduced.

Also consider the difference in the RCs between then and now and what they are capable of with the new batteries. That Jet Hopper had a claimed speed of 23km/h (I have one, not a chance). The modified wltoys I have may only run for 10minutes, but they are going at 70-80km/h (measured).

    • IMO they last a fair bit longer and also go much harder. I had a decent RC back in the 80/90's. Modern lipo ones are significantly faster.

If you want longer, grab a 2nd pack. Alternatively, grab alarger pack. Many of the wltoys will fit larger packs in them.

This is such an old site. 3/8 of my orders never arrived. Have they become any better?

So you can gauge how much your TCO would be.

Says drive gears is metal and not plastic so that should be fine for a long while, reduction gear looks to be plastic though.
Ball linkages on the front wheels are basically a consumable with these RC's. Screws are also made of the most brittle chinesium.

  • I love the bang good wltoys deal, hope they've got another before my young fella's birthday
