[eBay Plus] AMD Ryzen 5 5600G CPU $249.30, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X $439.20 Delivered @ gg.tech365 eBay

PLRANGE1

Low price on these two AMD Ryzen CPU's if you're looking to build now. The 5600G is a good option if you're looking for integrated graphics, e.g. an SFFPC, while the 5800X is good if you're after a few more cores than a 5600X.

Edit: Rep has dropped the price on the 5800X a bit further.

  • Any 5700g deal?

    • +1

There's 4 left in the dropdown menu. $404.10 with the code.

  • Anyone can comment on the onboard graphics for the 5600g CPU?

  • +1

I play Overwatch on low no problems with my 5700g (1440p, 75hz/fps).

    • I believe ryzen APU's are pretty dependant on RAM, can u list ur ram config, like dimms, speed and timings? Just for others who are curious about the APU in gaming.

      • +1

2x16gb 3200 mhz PNY XLR8 DDR4, default timings (is in an asrock X300 so didnt care as much)… Noctua NHL9A

  • Got the 5600g for 260 coz I didn't think the price would drop much more… Its still in the box, too…

    • +3

So far you're right, it's only dropped another $10

      • Thats not the OzB way of thinking. At least I got it before EOFY

They also do some good CPU/Board Combos e.g.:-

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403590406502

Bought about a month ago for HTPC work with the Gigabyte board and zero issues with 4K, HDR etc.

    • What kind of power draw do you get, idle and 4K playback? Thank you

      • Can't say for sure but it's not much given it idles at approx 35C in ambient 23C and the CPU fan is set to slilent mode and runs at approx 1200 rpm.

Using Core Temp it reckons that the CPU is using approx 7W at idle. Not sure how accurate that is but it supports the above…

On 4K *2160p.mkv playback it's never exceeded 40C and approx 20% CPU load. Youtube 4K is similar etc. Still at idel speed.

Using the UK Sky (think Foxtel) streaming service via VPN it idles at 70% CPU and approx 45C. The high CPU use is a known issue with the Sky App which is completely different to the Foxtel Go/Now service here. If nothing else it gives a good consistent load.

All this with a stock cooler and no extra case fans apart from the PSU which is a Seasonic TFX Gold device in an 15yr old Silverstone HTPC case which dates back to AGP days. Basically it's inaudible.

        • Thank you for the detailed reply. It's helpful to gather these real life reference points. Helps a lot when picking parts for the next build.

    • Did you need a BIOS update before you could use this combo?

      • No, although I did do the update after loading W10 etc.

    any good mobos for 5600x?

  • Ryzen7 5800x $439.20 would be an all time low?

    • Yep it sure is.

    • +1

Most definitely! I recall paying $570 for this shortly after launch and thought that I landed a bargain (RRP was $699 at the time). It took a while before it dropped below the $500 mark

      • Wow that was a good deal at the time. Most people were paying $550-600 for just the 5600x.

  • Note the -G series do not support ECC RAM if they do not also have PRO in the title. So a 5600G is probably not what you want for your fileserver.

  • Can u stack promo codes with ebay plus? Complete noob here with stacking codes :p

    • +1

      Can't stack codes

    Ryzen 7000 a few weeks away :)

Well not everyone want to upgrade from AM4 to AM5, and DDR5 ram only is a thing

    • +1

If you're considering Ryzen 7000 then you'd might as well wait for the next generation of GPUs to land first and just build another system from scratch. You'll need a new mobo, DDR5 memory and a more powerful PSU (I hear a new standard may be required to support the new GPUs).

These end-of-life releases for AM4 are for those early Ryzen adopters looking to squeeze some extra mileage out of their investments. Good on AMD for the extended support - Intel should take a leaf out of that book.
