  • How does it compare to this one? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184357922487

I much preferred the look of this one so bought it over those awful hinge type ones that look tacky and cheap.

I've been happy enough with the quality of this ebay one and looks reasonably 'factory looking' once installed.

  • Cant really compare as I have no experience with those cheaper ebay ones. Also the application for mounting that ebay camera is not suited for many cars as the Pioneer camera can be mounted on anything.

  • I have this reverse camera, it has parking lines. I bought it for $49 on ebay more than 5 years ago. I have to disable it on my car stereo head unit, otherwise there will be double lines and two different angles.

    • I prefer to adjust the lines on my head unit to suit the distances that I want.

if this is like most reverse cameras, can you not just cut the looped wires as necessary to delete the lines from the camera? Cut another loop if you want the image flipped?

    • I believe you just cut a wire to remove that

      • Thanks, I will try it later.

      • It's always the red wire, otherwise the bomb detonates

    • is the listing incorrect as it says "no parking lines"?

No, my one must be rcam2, I couldn't edit my comment now. See purpleredmonkeychair's comment.

I got one of these free(well the non parking line version) a while back when I bought my Kenwood dmx9720xds. Have to say is better than some cars standard cameras but don't expect the world. I use it at the front of my Ute.. For $70 I would say these were decently priced compared to what else there is so it's a steal for this price

    • Nice!

Pioneer make 2 mainstream reverse cameras that look the same being the rcamavic and rcam2

The rcamavic - one in this deal has no lines

    Rcam2 - has reverse lines

  • how to install those ones? hook it onto a head unit or need an extra power input too?

    • +1

Video signal is RCA, you'll need to supply it with power as well, either reverse trigger or accessories power.

  • Is there a good YouTube video on how to install and connect to a pioneer head unit?

    • +1

Not Pioneer head unit, but they're all basically the same: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfPq5vOIDPY

The only bit that might be different is the colour of the reverse light signal wire at the back of your head unit (but they should be labelled anyway)

If you're not installing into a ute, it might be easier to run the cable through the car, under the door-liners/carpet.

  • site down?

    • Hi there, its all working at my end. Let me know if you cant get on. Thanks
