If only I had another $100 to spend…

  • Always with the Super Swap, whyyyyyyyy!

    • +3

      I hope this doesn't become a thing

      • I literally only ever choose 2 options, eBay or Amazon. CB is higher for most other GC's, and with prime day coming up, seems easy to just pick Amazon.

  • +7

Have bought more than $1000 gift cards already.

    • +1

If you're looking for some friends to give the gift cards to, I'm available

I tried purchasing and it say’s unusual card activities pls try with another issuer. Anyone know?

    • same here. I am trying to add a Coles Mastercard but unsuccessful
      Same message: unusual card activities

      • How many have you used this week?

        • may be 3? perhaps @gotyourback could fix the issue?

          • +1

@AsukaST: With card linking/unlinking, we do have limits in place to prevent any fraudulent incidents from happening (not saying that's the case for you).
There's no way for me to undo the cooldown on my end, but you might be able to access it again within the next day or so.

If not, just send me a DM and I'll see what can be done.

            Cheers!

            • +2

@gotyourback: Thanks for letting us know. Any chance to temporarily adjust the length of cool down period, or increase the number of link/unlink activity before triggering the limit, when there are multiple gift card promotions during the same week?

              • @AsukaST: Same I think I used 3 as well .

              • @AsukaST: A workaround is to use Coles PMC to buy a Special MC giftcard. It just needs to be from another issuer.

                • @Neoika: Thanks. Is that the super shopper card?

                  • @AsukaST: Linking/unlinking too many cards may cause issue like cashout. I am not sure if it is the cause (as it is still pending to be solved), but my hunch tells me it is as the cashout usually occurs in less than one week. You account may be marked as high risk. Do it at your own risk. Maybe always using cashback balance to offset purchase is the way.

              • @AsukaST: Well because ShopBack didn’t let me purchase this deal so I went over to Prezzee and purchased a Uber gift card promotion spend $100 and get $10 back. 10% off

                • @FujiFruit: I managed to complete this deal by using the way @Neoika suggests.
                  It's easy.

                  • @AsukaST: I read what he wrote but don’t get what I’m suppose to do?

                    • @FujiFruit: Special is a category restricted MC. SB accepts it in your case as it is from another issuer.

            • @gotyourback: If fraudulent activity is a concern then why doesn't Shopback contact the member and ask them whether they are linking/unlinking cards - and if need be, why? Surely Shopback is aware that there's a bucketload of Coles Mastercards in the hands of Shopback members - and that's probably behind the linking/unlinking. If they're a longstanding member and you contact them on their registered contact number, can confirm their identity and explain why they are linking/unlinking cards to Shopback's satisfaction then there's no need to invoke a cooldown period.
From the info above, members don't even know how long they have to wait before they can link another payment source - so presumably they just keep trying until it works?
@gotyourback The rest of Shopback needs to lift their customer service to your level i.e. proactively assist customers

              • @bean_counter: Appreciate the feedback here, I'll cascade this up the our team who take care of payment issues here. We don't have the capacity at the moment for a process quite that manual, but I'm happy to get the process looked to see where we can improve.

7.5% off Bunnings (going via Home Swap card), can't complain.

    • Good tip. Thanks. Bunnings GC's direct only had $10's as well which is painful.

    • Home swap card? Bigger bunnings discount?
How did I not know this

      • +1

I think the Home/Travel Swap cards are newly released

The Home Swap card has 2.5% cashback vs 1.5% cashback on Bunnings gift card

  • Can I use the cashback balance to pay for part of the gift card ?

    • +1

      Yes :)
You can even pay fully with the cashback balance saved in your SB account

    • +4

might as well cash it out and use credit card for points

      • +1

        Good point

      • Thanks for the great advice, this is why ozb is so good !

  • Why are they excluding the super swap card?

  • +4

Another Amazon gift card in the account.
Next time I get into one of these bonus deals, Bunnings card to finally get some discount.
Alot products aren't discounted even with power pass card

    • Ya power pass very selective you almost need to ask staff what's discounted

  • +1

    Thanks OP

  • Are Shopback challenges stackable? e.g. I can see a $10 Bonus Restaurants Gift Card challenge in my account

    • +1

      they sure are

      • Thanks mate! Decided against it, given the limited number of participating restaurants in Melbourne. Can't go wrong with an Amazon card…

  • Sucks that $100 Bunnings gift cards are sold out 😭

    • +2

Buy a $100 Swappable "Home by Shopback" Gift Card with 2.5% cashback and convert to a $100 Bunnings Gift Card.

      • Great advice, thanks!
Just retuned from Bunnings and spent up so too late for this round. Might grab anyway for next trip, cheers
