Ok if they pay upfront and you’re not paying in advanced, and there’s no fees and they don’t sell your information, how are you making money? In business everyone needs to make money how are you making yours, I don’t like models where I can’t see where that’s coming from…

    • by referrals offering you 'better' products because of 'people like you'

    • I think you do pay in advance.

      • +1

No they do, if you did I’d go fine they’re making money off holding the money until it’s due..

    • +1

Payment fees and late payment fees to them. Same as afterpay.

Charge something in the range of 5% transaction fees and it's enough to profit off.

  • +1

looks like all those afterpay services that technically put it in short-term credit trap, likely affecting your credit score as well

    Looks legit
    Trust me bro

My life is in your hands

    Typos for you to fix

    “ NO LATE FEES
We pay your bills upfront and on time so you don't need to worry late fees again” add “about”

    “ 1. Select Your Providers
Choose any provider for electricity, gas, water internet, mobile, fixed line, health insurance, auto insurance and general insurance” add “,”

The wait list rules are also some generic template from a sweepstake terms and conditions.

Oh neat, IPoH2O, The Deep will be happy about this development.

    • Thank you

Doesn't everyone do this as part of managing your budget? I don't get what value you are adding in return for all my valuable financial information.

    • Maybe they'll accept $250 and $100 coles mastercards so we can pay bills like rego/insurance which otherwise dont have ways to split the payment?

Another useless startup fixing a problem that doesn’t exist.

I look forward to reading a Sydney Morning Herald article on why you failed in 12 months time.

    • +11

      That’s a bit harsh.

      • It’s not. They’re using stupid word play to make it seem like they’re innovating but all they’re really doing is providing you a short term revolving credit line like a credit card or BNPL service.

Oh look we are “smoothing” your bills..How innovative!

        • +10

I’m not disagreeing that it’s just like another BNPL service and I have my scepticism on how it’s a profitable business model if there are no user fees or selling of data.

The harsh comment was reference you to looking forward to reading about the OP’s failure. Love the idea or hate it but hoping to see someone fail for having an idea and being brave enough to follow through with it is unbecoming.

@Slo20: Yes by specifically targeting a very vulnerable section of society. People who are unable their bills month to month aren’t the type of people a reputable company should be looking to exploit for profit.

These guys a very small step above pay day lenders if ask me. Why shouldn’t I be harsh?

Notice how these guys don’t actually try and help the person(Budget etc), all they do is provide a means to mask a person’s financial issues until they’re even further out of control.

            • +1

@caramellokoala: That’s the missing part on how this company works. Their claim is no user fees and no late fees to the user so I’m not sure how they are exploiting the vulnerable person. Whereas you have companies like MyBudget who do a similar service but charge the user some exorbitant joining fee (something like $1500 paid in instalments) plus ongoing fees and they make sure they are the first debtor paid every month.

I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. It’s not a company for me and I don’t believe it will be profitable but I also don’t see them being predatory.

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback. We think we are solving a problem with regards to how users manage their cash flow, their apathy to switching and general convenience with regards to opening, managing and paying bills. Essentially it is one platform where you can manage all your household bills.

The way they will make money as a business is, when they have enough ppl in data base and their provider's and average spendings on the bills, they will then send you offers to change providers and they will get commission when you join with their referral.
    It's like those compare websites.
Also if you are paying in advance the money is sitting in an account and it will generate interest.
Well I think that's the way they will make money!
Let me know your thoughts I'm keen to see if I'm on the right track!

    • They wrote in the previous post that they make money from negotiating with the service providers a better rate.

    • I am kinda thinking along the same line that our money maybe sitting in an account to generate interest? Eg. When I was paying a bill via Sniip a few days in advance before it was due and instructed to be paid now (not schedule). I noticed the money was debited right away from my bank account but my bill wasn't even paid until the due date. So where was the money in between?

Thanks for the feedback. Our plan is to monetise on the billers side as a different payment option. So for the users we would service we would essentially replace BPAY or credit card networks. The advantage we offer billers is payment on time.

Regarding interest, we actually pay the bills upfront and then replace them with a weekly payment. Over time as we learn more about your payment profile this will smooth to very little variation.

  • Perpetual have products that include bill payments

I'm grateful not to need $25 so badly.

Good luck with the venture/idea though 👍

    • Thanks for the kind wishes.

$25 will get me 12 litres of petrol or two lettuces. I'm in!

    • i missed out on the free $100 + referals on the previous random startup offer - this one seems safer data wise so im in hopefully.

  • +1

are you going to add a referral code generator here?

    • I think the mods need to do that

    • Added.

      In future,

To add a store to a referral system and there is a deal like this one, use the report link.

OR request it on the thread:

      User-Submitted Referral Code/Link Requests & Updates

      • Apologies if I did something incorrect. I thought I had followed all the rules.

        • My response was to jwsc on how to request referrals be added into the system.

To all those that say they will sell your data - they stipulate they don't sell your data without your express permission. So long as it's opt-in and not opt-out.
However, they may use your data to find a better service deal for you, reducing future bills. They may get commission from the provider at no cost to you.
To all those that say they negotiate a bulk/volume/group deal with the providers - they are discounted the "would be" payment gateway fees usually charged by Visa, BPay etc.
So you would effectively still pay the full amount of your bills on a weekly basis - and they would pay a slightly lesser amount on or before the due. A win win win for all.

    • I wouldn't mind this but instead of being spread out with weekly payments, I get a once a year amount to pay at the end of the year.

Just one payment - that would make life easy.

Pay it with my points credit card and get a big fuel voucher!
