  • How does this compare to Mix Track Pro?

    • How does this compare to DJ Hero?

    • We are unfamiliar with the Mixtrack Pro, but more information on the Vestax Dj Spin can be found here http://www.vestax.com/v/products/detail.php?cate_id=80

Very different to DJ hero as it is not a game. This device and software is catered for DJ beginners and those who are also more advanced. Check out the link above to read more about its features and specs.

  • The Mix Track Pro looks a little better, easier to use controls, (EQ is a knob rather than a fader) etc, you would need to use both and see what you find easier, What software comes with this one, also is it compatible with Windows? if its Mac only, pretty shit go.

    • The Vestax DJ Spin comes with the software dJay 3, which is only compatible with the Mac, however it works with Virtual DJ (sold separately) which is available for both Windows and Mac operating Systems.

  • +1

I have this controller, it's great. the software is not the most complex but it would be ideal for a newcomer. You can cue easily through headphones which connect to the unit, one touch BPM match, transpose keys etc and the looping function is excellent.

The Djay software is easy to use and analyses your itunes library and adds BPM and key to help you choose compatible songs.

Note - you must have itunes and a mac to use.

Beware though, the retail for this is $319, even though some average retailers (Allan's/Billy Hyde/Apple) have been selling above this.

I bought second hand for $200, on ebay when they do go on auction they tend to go for about this so on the balance of this, $250 is a good deal.

Great for a newcomer to DJaying who doesn't want a big outlay for vinyl or equipment.

  • better off saving a bit extra and getting something that doesn't look/feel like a toy

    • I would say it's more of a case of Horses and Courses. This is exactly what I wanted and it works exactly as I wanted it to.

Paying more would have defeated the object, and if you look at round ups this controller actually gets a very good rap compared to most others in it's price range - the key benefit being it's mapped exactly to the Mac DJay software.
