  • This or the ECOVACS DEEBOT N8 for $398? I want to buy one of these but not sure which one better :0

    • +7

The Dreame L10 is really good. I have only had it a for a few days, but have been super impressed so far.
The room mapping is very good, I have mapped our entire house now and can get it to vacuum particular rooms on schedule or adhoc.
It is really good navigating around unexpected obstacles, only power cords can cause some headaches.
The suction is excellent and it is relatively quiet compared to other vacs.
As a plus, the app is actually very intuitive and full featured.
I wouldn't buy this model for mopping as it doesn't really have a scrubbing function.
Note, I got the vac from Gearbite as well, it identified as a Singapore model.

      • Thanks. I will get one.

i bought ECOVACS N8, it works very well with my alexa device. its sweeping and mopping function also very good .
i like use disposable mops, which is very convenient. in addition, this machine also has a carpet recognition function , which will not stain my carpet in the first week of purchasing, i encountered the problem with the APP settings . the local service centre of Ecovacs that i called. its quickly contact me and helped me solve my problem.

      • Does it perform well on carpet? I never know if positive reviews are from floorboard/tile owners or if these robot vacuums can do full carpet houses too

    • +1

This has almost double the suction and has obstacle avoidance (can navigate around items on the floor like keys, cables, socks, etc… below the LIDAR on top). So this one is substantially better.

How does warranty work with these Chinese brands and sellers? Too many robot vacuums failing within 1 year acc. to the forums.

    • Wait for prime day and buy from amazon

        Ships from Gearbite
        Sold by Gearbite
        $699 😂

        • +1

But amazon returns and warranty are best in the industry. Also might be sold directly by Amazon for prime day, I got my s5 Max that way for 500

          • @mlburnian: s5 max hasn't been that price for a long time, but the L10 is better anyway. Roborock, Dreame and Xiamoi are all owned by Xiamoi.

    • The same as all Australian retailers, you return the item to them and can request a replacement or refund.

  • I bought the same one from Gearbite last year for around the same price. The robot is pretty good and maps kitchen lounge room and hallway pretty good however it's region locked on the xioami app so you can't access the settings but it's not really required for mapping, vacuuming and mopping from my experience and yeah no warranty.

    • +1

You should be able to access the settings by using Singapore as your server.

Amazing: LIDAR for a vacuum, while self driving cars tend to get away from it.

    • Well, Teslas do thanks to Musk the conman, which is why they still do things like this.

      • +1

stupidity always wins. Just look at his offspring that was born as Xavier!

      • +2

No LiDAR in Tesla self driving though

        • Yep, which is why they'll happily drive full speed into solid objects lol.

Meanwhile, there are <$300 robot vacuums with LiDAR.

  • I have Roborock s6 maxv which is doing a great job except mopping on the porcelain tiles is not very impressive at it leaves it’s wheel’s marks. Any suggestions to fix this?

PS: please do not suggest removing the tiles.

    • +1

Leave the tiles and floorboard over them? ;)

In all seriousness we never could fix this ourselves and just gave up on the mopping feature

  • I have dreams d9. It's good with suctioning (mop isn't great) but the software is buggy. I have to reset my map every 3 months bc the map gets all messy each time the robot runs. Anyone has this problem?

    • +1

I've found the latest d9 firmware a big improvement. Yeah it's still not perfect but much better.

Also, are you aware they've added a feature where you can restore a previous map. Been a life saver a few times when something gets twisted.

      • No way, thanks for the tip. I'll check if can restore old maps!

    • How's the suction comparing with handheld Dyson normal mode?

      • I use the strong mode and I'm 90% happy. But With the Dyson you can go over the area again and again

  • +1

Got this in the last deal - very impressed so far. The mopping is decent although if you've got solid stains or are a clean freak you'll want to mop separately. The LIDAR is really impressive - it's only got stuck once in probably 10-15 hours of operation and we have had it running several times with stuff everywhere.

  • Another post i read was all about auto empty feature. Does this have it?

    • The z10 is this model equivalent with the auto-empty feature. Personally I find emptying the normal dustbin quite easy and I think an auto-emptying docking station is a bit of a gimmick.

  • Can you control with Home Assistant?

  • This or roborock s5 max? I dont care too much about the obstacle avoidance. More interested in cleaning performance.

    • This has double the suction that the S5 does, so should be able to vacuum a lot better, especially on carpets.

  • +1

Bear in mind this is hackable with valetudo
    Works well

    • Will it finally beat the house cat?

  • So which robovac is good for mopping as well below $1K price range?

  • Anyway to get this to work with Google Assistant?

    • Works fine with Google assistant just link the Mi Home acount
