had one of these (or the previous gen but spec looks identical i think) for just over 2yrs, eventually threw it out for a few reasons.
1- Battery was struggling to last more than 2mins after the first 2 yrs of non heavy use.
2- hair tangle heaven in the spinning brush
3- filters would smell quite quickly needing to be replaced more often
4- Dyson v8 was more powerful and useful.

I had a previous gen of the Athlet. First one failed under 12 months, got replaced under warranty. Second one failed about 18 months later. I can't remember what failed each time but it was enough for me to write these off for a while and stop persisting.

Not sure about this particular model, but other Bosch Athlets have a none-removable battery !! So when it loses capacity, the only thing you can do is throw the whole machine in the bin.
I have no idea why Bosch would make a consumable part irreplaceable.

  • The non replaceable battery does suck however this is an awesome unit, way better than Dyson's I have owned and costs half the price. Dyson marketing machine has sucked most people in, pun intended.

Am planning on getting a battery spot welder that can be used to replace the batteries in this, providing you have a bit of DIY nous
