    Pretty poor reviews.

      From 5 reviews……

general internet reviews says its shit too

"Terrible service and product knowledge at JB"

"Does not even come with an Australian power cord, sold to us for a Christmas present but not very workable for the day.
JB said buy an adaptor when they opened, helpful, not"

lol how is this a thing

        • +4

This sums up most Australian retailers.

          • +6

            @PainToad: here's the thing…

recently i bought a piece of electronics from a local place in Syd… its obviously run by chinese… they included an aus adapter

i also bought an expensive piece of hifi equipment from china… they included the right aus iec cord

because even the friggen chinese realise that doing a little bit extra results in less consumer compliant

and yet not even aust. retailing can come to the table…

            • +1

@tonyjzx: Doesn’t mainland China basically use an upside down AU plug, so a store importing products from there intended for that market has a decent chance of having the right adapter, I thought. They also run a voltage which is close to AU.

              • @Smigit: They're compatible rathet then identical. For example the Australian neutral and live are insulated and slightly shorter so the ground connects first. I think the dimensions are subtly different too though as one in the other is too loose or too tight (forget which way around).

              • @Smigit: China uses type-I plug for earthed appliances, but 2-pin plugs are mostly US-style type A.

    It has terrible reviews…

  • +2

Not many reviews around, but most complaints se to be more about the casting, but a Chromecast can fix that I hope.
This will be my first projector, so for "40%" off, I think seems ok.

  • Conflicted but anything better at this price?

    • +3

A poke in the eye 😜

There are a ton of 1080p projectors for less. YouTube reviews them all. Last time I looked the Blitzwolf one was the best bang for buck, under $250.

    • A good 1080p projector starts from $600

  • If a projector is sold at Big W then you know what quality to expect.

  • Pm if you need a code. I have a few.

I don't think it'll get used given what's been said above about the quality, but here's my code regardless: 92G33WZFYJJHC4.

Amazon Prime day coming up soon, cheap and easy Fire TV stick might fix some of the complaints.

If someone does use it let others know.

  • Whoa 720p HD it's like living 1999 all over again, have things moved on in the last 20 years?

  • I use this projector I got from Amazon. It goes down to $299 alot and I find it amazing for the price. Even does keystone correction too so I have mine beside my bed facing the wall in front of me. I do get a slightly blurry image because I'm using at an angle but front on it's just about perfect.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Bluetooth-Projector-8500Lumens-Pre…

    • I recently got this one too, $299 plus cash rewards $20 back.

Pretty good for the price I think, fan is audible and puts out a little heat. Bluetooth audio transmission isn't usable as I noticed about a second lag and there's no adjustment I can find. It's own speaker is OK, I plug a portable speaker in for nicer sound.

Picture is pretty good, 1080p native. I've only used a chromecast dongle as a source but it looks great projected onto my wall.

It needs to be a fair way from a surface to get a large image is a down side.

Great for the price, certainly not home theatre quality but you'd expect to pay a lot more for that. Good enough for some gaming or watching something on a big screen.

      • Is the image sharp? I tried one of these cheap ones( not this exact model) earlier and it couldn’t even focus properly.

        • +1

Not razor sharp, but enough for me. Definitely better than the cheaper 720p QKK one I also got from Amazon.

If you can get it perfectly level it has better edge focus than if on an angle.

  • Never mind the 720P. How dumb would you have to be you buy a projector with no specified lumens?

    • Depends on the reviews

Don't companies lie about the lumens anyway?

I'm sure there are free returns if the unit is a lumen

Obviously Phillips is a Chinese company these days so quality will be below average

    • Why so salty alot of high end brands bought by the Chinese and still riding the name, the reviews of this seem to be really bad but any neggers care to comment or just hide ?

It's 720p come on guys unless you're trying to watch your DVD collection this thing is useless

    • Maybe playing retro games?

      • For retro games I would try get a CRT. But yeah this would be alright if it doesn't have input lag

    • DVDs are lower res 720 × 480 pixels

My first projector was 720p…. channel 9 and 10 (I'm hd) are 1080i so a 720p looks pretty good, there's not going to be much improvement upscaling to 1080p.

People can stop posting codes, as above its not a good buy for a 720p projector.

The first code posted 5 hours ago has not been used lol.
That in own its own should say this is not a deal.

  • I've been waiting for a good HD projector any recomendations?
