ONLY for Victorian stores
"there will be a disclaimer coming out soon to clarify this"
Went in GG Oxley QLD this morning and the salesman said he knows nothing about it.
I went to a VIP TGG Malaga sale last time and I would only save $1 on the product I wanted to buy and their customer service is awful. Now I shop at HM Malaga.
Can anyone confirm if it is for all TGG stores or certain stores before it is expired?
Sorry Joey4 I have to neg this deal, went to my local GG, was told they hadn't hear anything about it and that the poster didn't mean anything, then told ONLY price matching local brick and mortar stores, THEN argued about a local store (which is a warehouse but you can walk into and buy from) and told NOT going to price match.
Fucking arseholes. I will bide my time and get them for this.
Is it me or is naming any discount electrical store 'the good guys' a bit of an oxymoron…
are you in Victoria?
Yes
You're not alone, because I have also experienced VERY rude treatment from Good Guys Essendon last weekend. It was about price matching and it was a local brick and mortar store. They simply rolled their eyes and told me to go right ahead and purchase from that store.
Really, I always try my best to be upfront, polite and appreciative with these whitegoods sales people but most of the time, it is never reciprocated and their attitude is so arrogant. These days, most sales people act like they are the one with the upper hand.
I know that experience, they also say something along the lines of 'If you see it cheaper, tell me I will buy it from them.' And then they expect customers to buy things from them. Psht, in a million years.
Hi,guys, just come back from Chadstone TGG VIC, I can confirm this 20% storewide sales, bought a Samsung UA40ES6200 for $1023, using gift cards for payment, I think it's great saving !
Bendigo store knows about the deal, but say it's only metro stores and wont honor it. I pointed out that the fine print was remarkably detailed AND did not mention limited store availability. They checked with the manager and they said - no.
Went to Bendigo store and nobody knew anything about it.
Price of a dryer was $379 on sunday
Price of same dryer was $454 on monday,
Dryer on sale today for $419 so no they wont do the 20% discount.
SCAM!!
Look out if GG start in the Petrol business.
Got a Dyson DC39 699 - 20% = $559.20 then used gift cards to pay for it so - 20% off on that too! :D
at least it worked for someone lol
i've lodged a complaint with the ACCC already regarding the good guys..
I don't think they acted "bad faith" as such, they were just incredibly disorganised.
After the giftcard thing customers all saw how poorly organised the entire franchise is when some started refusing GCs. Obviously they were not on the same page as the head office who presumably cleared it with Auspost. It's like they don't communicate with each other to talk about promotions and franchises don't know what is going on which is never a good thing.
People started throwing out there the possibility of a TGG cash grab in the GC thread. Of course that is purely speculation but being disorganised and unprofessional are not exactly the hallmarks of healthy companies.
If that's the case, how come you didn't Pos the deal?
its going to help any one now!
but i bought an asus transformer prime for 619.00
the advertised price was 747
the price under the label was 799
with 20% off it was 639.2
since they did not have 16gb memory card(bonus) in stock, they knocked 20 off to 619
i had 500 work gift card from previous TGG auspost deal!
at the end off the day im $519 lighter
I bought a Sony camcorder for $639.2 (799 ticket price)… with gift cards it went down to $511.36
They refused to accept the giftcards before I kicked up a fuss.. I got quite agitated :)
didn't have a problem! probably because it was busy and the sales dude left met at he the counter with the tablet!
on what basis did they try to refuse giftcards? which store?
Highpoint in VIC. The sales girl said you couldn't double up on promotions. I responded with, "the giftcards are an Australian Post promo and that the cards are as good as cash" ..she said she was given directives to not grant the 20% stocktake sale to giftcard holders.. I demanded to speak to the manager or owner of the store.. she went away and came back and said it was fine.
God they make me so mad.
If you don't want people using the cards WHY DID YOU SELL THEM AT DISCOUNT YOU ASSHATS.
Perhaps they thought I would give-in and pay full retail price. Instead I'm likely never to return. The owner is a dick as well, after speaking to him over the phone in-regards to an Aircon, I approached him in-store. He made out that no such conversation took place and that he would never speak to a customer on the phone. I was like, ‘how do I know your name then??!”.. You own a Good Guys franchise, get over yourself!!
And what if I actually got them as a 'Gift' !!! Does that negate my right to get a better price?? Seriously…pour some sense in 'The DUMB guys!!
@knackers, well said. I wish more people would simply spell it out as it is to these rogue franchisees. There is absolutely NO basis for any TGG store to refuse their own Giftcards (non-expired) for ANY purchase within their stores - absolutely none.
@knackers, Name and shame, who was it? We should post him a 'friendly' link to this thread :P
I can't believe some staff members tried to decline the use of the giftcard. Absolutely bloody mindedness..
Mate….Let me know if you're interested. I plan to get something from Good Guys tonight.
