  • What do you recommend if you want a slightly darker, more chocolatey roast than Enterprise?

    • +3

I highly recommend Stargazer for you Jacko 👍🏼

  • +1

    Perfect timing.
    Chance to try Thunderchild.
Somewhat underwhelmed by Sumatra and Stargazer for cold brew.

    • +1

Have you tried hot blooming when making cold brew?

      • Can’t say I have. Or even know what that is.
But I’m also insanely lazy. So standard cold brewing works well for me.

        • +2

Enterpise and Columbia have been my faves so far for cold brew. I assume hot blooming is putting some hot water in first to kick it off.

          • @Pigfarmermc: Yeah enterprise is solid. But I wanted to mix it up and see if there were better flavours or something.

Yeah sounds possible. Although wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of cold brew? Having hot water bring out the bitterness in the beans?

            • @Rail Rider95: Hard to explain, but no.

Blooming is just the initial process, where you add just enough water to wet the grounds. Just like you're supposed to do when making pour over and possibly similar to preinfusion for expresso.

With cold brew, you miss out on some of the flavours that require a high temperature, hot blooming aims to bring some of those back

Worth trying and super easy to do.

      Thanks for your feedback rider!
Please let us k ow how the Thunderchild goes for you!

      Cheers

  • my new fav, Saratoga. Ordered 1KG.

Got the barista express other day. What you recommend to dial in for the Sumatra?

    • Hey dylanando. Congrats on your new kit!

It’s always a good idea to jump in with the manufacturers recommended settings and then dial it in with tweaks from there.

If you need a hand with that yell out in email [email protected] when you have some results 👍🏼

      Cheers
      Dan

    • Keen in knowing what settings worked for you with this for the barista express 🙂

  • Perfect timing. Ordered. Thanks OP

  • Been wanting to try Enterprise for a while, didn't expect it to come out cheaper than the more heavily discounted Sumatra deals. Cheers!

      Great stuff Gracey.
Please let us know how it goes for you.
      Thanks

  • What's the recommendation for long blacks only?

    • Hey there nakhe.
Hopefully your fellow OzB offer drinkers will chip in here with their experience and preferences but I would recommend Sumatra or Pegasus as a good place to start on strictly long blacks.

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Thank you!

  • What’s the best beans for making cappuccino’s?

Tried enterprise and Sumatra like Sumatra but want to try something different.

    • Hey goldsmen, if you liked the Sumatra I would try the Pegasus.

If you do, please let us k on how they compare for you 👍🏼

      Cheers
      Dan

  • This to me is the gold standard in taste: https://little-rebel-coffee.myshopify.com/products/the-black…
What would you expect to compare fro Airjo, make lattes mainly.

    • Hey there James.
I can’t personally help with a comparison but I can certainly recommend you try our Enterprise Blend as a first crack at our range.

      Thanks for asking.
      Cheers
      Dan

  • Bought the breville barista pro yesterday
What do you recommend for a first timer making coffee at home. I usually buy cappachino for my coffee

    • Hey there ec. Congrats on the new kit.
I would recommend our Enterprise Blend as a good place to start.

If you need some help/feedback dialling it in when you are set up, just shoot me an email at [email protected] any time.

      Cheers

    Best beans for espresso?

    • +1

I'd say any that aren't light roasts. But that's my preference

    • Hey VieveMS.
If it’s your first time with AIRJO I recommend the Enterprise Blend 👍🏼

      • Thank you, placing an order now. I look forward to trying your coffee.

  • Just in time! I ran out of my last bag yesterday

    • Great stuff Bane!

    • Sounds like a week too late… 😅👍

      • Generally gets here in a day or 2, I've still got enough in the grinder to tide me over

  • Oh boy, thunderchild blend was refreshing spin to my daily cuppa but I am going back to Enterprise blend. I absolutely loved that taste.

    • Super feedback junji82. Thanks so much 👍🏼

  • This post comes in clutch as per always! Literally on my last few shots of my enterprise and just bought a pack of thunderchild for a change. Thanks OP!

    • Awesome Slytherin! Thank you.
Super keen to hear your thoughts on Thunderchild 👍🏼

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Which is the darkest roast money can buy?

    • Thunderchild is where your money belongs!

  • I normally buy enterprise, make milk based coffee exclusively. I'd like to try something new, for a change. I've tried Sumatra, but preferred enterprise. Anything you'd recommend?

    • Hey rusteh.
I would recommend you try the Stargazer in that case.
Please let us know your thoughts if you do 👍🏼

      Cheers
      Dan

      • Thanks mate, ordered a kg.

  • Which blend do you recommend for V60 pourover?

    • Hey there.
I would hope you can get some feedback on that one from fellow OzB V60 peeps but I would suggest trying Sumatra or Pegasus.

      I hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

  • Hey Dan

Are we able to place an order today for a future roast/delivery date? I don't need the beans for another 2 weeks from now.

    Cheers

    • Hey xmstercx
We don’t have any delayed shipping options.
As soon as you order it’s fairly automated to get it out asap.
We do have a subscription service where you can schedule deliveries but not for regular sales like this.

I hope that helps and thanks for asking 👍🏼

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Hello Dan,

I am newish to the coffee world. What would be your recommendation for Espressos in Bialetti stovetop? And would I select Stovetop Grind or Espresso Grind from the type of options?

    Thanks

    • Hey tendliya - I definitely recommend the Enterprise Blend for you.
You will want to order Stovetop Grind.

I hope that helps and please let us know how it goes for you.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Hi Dan, which bean do you recommend for floral and fruity notes? I usually drink with milk.

    • Hey there Kat!
If you shoot me an email or message through the chat on the website we can try and find what you want based on what you are brewing with etc.

      Cheers
      Dan

  • Pleasantly surprised by the Colombia I got the other week. Fresh, great flavour and not overly bitter

  • Made my third order. Very pleased with Airjo. I only drink filter coffee.

  • Hi Dan. I just fixed a coffee machine (Rancillio Silvia) and am now discovering the complexity of getting a good cup of latte. I exclusively drink milk coffees. I bought a kg of Aldi beans and have had mixed success so far. Worst thing is inconsistency. I bought a Breville Smart Grinder Pro. I think initially i was dosing too much. I thought the basket is 18gr but its only 14gr and i am timing to get about 30mls in 30s and adjusting grind accordingly to get that amount in about 30s. I should mention I have been drinking instant for pretty much all my life. Tried some capsule machines but I honestly preferred my Robert Timms instant to the capsule coffees. 3 different coffee machines.

What you recommend for me? I was going to buy some Enterprise to beam me up. :) Thanks in advance

ps: I am not able to get much crema from the Aldi beans but reading up I think it may be due to the coffee beans not being freshly roasted. The fresher the more CO2 gas which creates the crema. Hope yours will do the trick

    • "APPROACHABLE - Any problems at all just reach out, we want to help"

      i am approaching……helllooooo? :)

    • You can check the roast date, it's just the expiry date backwards. Picked up some 12 day old beans from Aldi, single origin Brazil, but I much prefer their regular and cheaper medium roast ones

  • Love Sumatera try Timor this time.. Cheers Dan

  • Barista Express newbie here… 🙋🏻‍♀️

Would love to know what settings everyone is using for their Airjo beans if they don't mind sharing… just so that I know I'm doing the right thing…

I have the Stargazer and Enterprise beans…

  • Purchased! This time ill try Enterprise!
    Cheers

  • Price list with applicable discounts would be helpful in the description.

I see an Airjo deal, I buy beans. It's that simple.

  • I have started making coffee at home very recently. I have tried a few from Coles. Until now I liked Vittoria Oro. Can you please recommend one in Airjo which has similar taste as Vittoria Oro?

I am using Delonghi Dedica coffee machine. Which type of grind I need to buy? I see that there are multiple options and I don’t understand all of them.

  • What's a good blend for pour overs, if i prefer something floral, light?

  • Also "Midnight Friday AEST" is unclear. Is that 11.59pm Thursday 16 or 11.59pm Friday 17?

    • Just bought a 1kg, so I guess Friday

    • Midnight Friday means 0:00, likely they mean midnight Saturday = 1 min after 11.59pm Friday

      A very common mistake

  • Any suggestions for a fully automatic (delonghi magnifica s)?

  • Hi Airjo - any chance of another 30% special? My beans are about to finish
