looks pretty good but i can imagine the wait to get into the nova area wouldn't be worth the free lunch. good to know thou thanks.

    • Considering the queue people waited in for free burrito's I don't think it can be any worse.

      • The free Burritos were available for about 9 hours on 1 day, thousands got a freebie. There was no Facebook or other conditions - just queue. Their staff worked so hard to quickly prepare & deliver - on the spot. I queued & was served in about 30 minutes. Many were also curious about the food.

This deal is for the usual food court food, while being used in a radio promotion! Either one is enough to give me indegestion ;)

This deal is for 24 people at a time with orders taken for 2 hours (last entry at 1:50). Each order has to be picked up from the food stores, at a very busy time. Meanwhile - you listen to their music, advertising & crap (OK if you love Nova) - you will hear plenty of it while waiting.
Sounds like each order could take ages, and then you can take your time eating. So I guess a maximum of 6 sets of 24 meals, no more than 150 free meals/day would be my estimate. Thats cheap advertising. Meanwhile, you provide the entertainment & free promotion.

        • Ok so lets take your math you have indicated.

1 day of free burritos - Thousands got a freebie. I am not sure where you got that number from, but sure lets say 1500 people got a free burrito.

Now lets say you have 6 sets of 24 as you metioned as well. That is 144 meals per day. Over the course of of 12 days (M-F for 2.5 weeks) that comes out to 1728 free meals.

If you put it on par with the free burrito I see it coming up about the same result and the same issues.

        • Happy to debate the mathematics - my studies were the mathematics & modelling of queueing, so it strangely facinates me.

I was directly across the road, and joined the queue, so saw many thousands served. Dual queue contained up to at least 200 people at peak times, but had about a 30 minute flush - so serving up to 400/hr.
Object for promoter - get as many people as possible to sample their food (& buy next time). The food is everything.

Yes 1 day, no (FB) conditions except you wait & get what you waited for - a new food taste for most. I travel for new tastes & cultures, so it was worth the wait.

Compare that with 2.5 weeks of waiting, with conditions that must be met even if you are unsuccessful for smaller number of (food-court) meals I would not bother waiting 5 minutes for. Most people will be waiting rather than eating - usual radio promo BS!
Object for promoter - get as many people as possible to listen to their radio station & ads, establish listener loyalty, and create new listeners to raise audience numbers, advertising rates, profits. The food is the tease & not important to the promoter. Talk with promoters as I have done previously in my work - the public are laughingly considered as very cheap labour for their profits.

          Enjoy the wait!

  • It says it's limited to 24 people at one time. Does that mean each day? Doesn't really specify.

You cant start eating until someone else finishes

      • *Entry to the Nova Zone is valid between midday and 1.50pm weekdays, and limited to 24 customers at one time.

My reading of that is that you have to wait for someone to leave, before you can enter their exclusive domain, and wait for your order to be taken. Then someone has to pick up your order from a store in the food court at the busiest time of the day.

Sounds a very slow process. You have to wait, listen to their music, advertising, etc, be the entertainment for those waiting (just guessing) - all sounds like a typical radio promo or 'time-share free lunch' to me!! Well they are already getting free publicity here.

    • Its not very clear (will be promoted on Nova) - sounds like it operates like a tiny club - you are let in when someone leaves. So it is up to how fast orders are taken, how fast it is prepared in the food court, how fast their runners are (& how many) to pick up those orders, how fast people eat, and how long after they have eaten before they leave!!
