Still waiting for my $100 woolies gift card from the last superloop deal.

    • -6

Hey Salmon, Apologies for the delay, Kindly share your reference number and query on [email protected], so that our team can track your application.

      • +4

Lol - you don't think I've already emailed them?

Looking at your previous deals, there seems to be systematic issues with getting the promotional items.

        • Hey salmon123, Kindly DM us your reference number, or email id so that I can personally investigate the issue.

          • @Manyo: i have just DMed and please check for my application

            • @SnoozeAndLose: Hey Mate, we cross-referred your details, and your activation date is 26th April, and according to the terms and conditions you will receive your gift card after 90 days from the date of activation, so you will get your Gift card via email in July.

        • +3

Dam tempted to signup but this is putting me off

        • +3

Exactly, we signed up and they keep all the cashback, and commission, I got the same issue when I switched the energy provider and never received the gift card.

          • @T-man: Hey mate, Apologies for the delay, Kindly share your reference number and query on [email protected], so that our team can track your application.

  • Damn it. Just sign up directly two weeks ago. Opened an everyday CommBank account to take advantage of the 30% off.

  • "Needs to be activated by 16th of June" - Does this mean future date connections are ineligible?

    • Want to know about this too

    • Wanting to know this as well as I’m moving in a month and will need to set up internet for then

    • Hey Adanbro, This offer is valid till 16th June 2022 on Ozbargain page, however you can get your service activated according to your convenience.

      • +1

Will we still be eligible for the $100 egc if we sign up by 16/6 but not connected until later date ?

        • Hey yht , yes that's correct, you will be eligible for the $100 Woolworths eGift Card, if you sign up by 16/6 but get your service activated on a later date.

          • @Manyo: Cool, thanks

          • @Manyo: Thanks Manyo. I don't see an option to choose a later activation date, I reached until the review plan details after entering drivers license etc. Do you have to click on the "moving house" option (even if you aren't)?

            • @adanbro: Hey adanbro, Please refresh and restart the application again, after you have entered your ID details, on the next page, you will see the question "how soon do you want your connection to be delivered to your address" you can select the desired activation date from there.

      • So this turned out to be half f***ing true…

I requested a transfer of internet to occur on the 20th, to ensure that family would be at school/work for the day of no internet and wouldn't really affect them.

More has ordered the new connection this evening, so TPG naturally cancelled my internet service to allow this to process.

Thanks Rep for the completely inaccurate info!
I'll be ringing More to scream at some poor manager in the morning…

        • Same here, I ordered for tomorrow (17th) but seems like it has been ordered already, we have no Internet at the moment (2 hours and still waiting)

          • @bghunter: Mine is up this morning. Deco x20dsl connected although not without some quirks.
45 down, 11 up FTTN which is worse than the 50/18 I used to get with TPG

  • +2

i've been with More telecom for 5 months on 50/20 for $53 w/ commbank discount, honestly can't fault them. Not had an issue on FTTP. Peak I'm getting 52/17 and 3-6ms ping

    • Is 50/20 fast enough to watch 4k contents?

      • +2

Yes I do it all day, everyday without issue

      • Is 50/20 fast enough to watch 4k contents?

I've watched 2,893 contents so far and still going fine.

        • You are slow JV, I have watched 3172.4 already

          • @jsb: What will you do when you reach 4K ?

            • @jv: If more doesn't offer more, will ask a Mate

  • It shows $300 "new development fee". When I try on More website directly it doesn't ask me to pay the amount.

    • same ahah why don't want to proceed. I don't want any head ache chasing that 300$ over the phone.

      • Same here, I wish we can find out if we need to pay before we sign up

    • +1

Hey kimyongjeon, please be advised, that this is a tentative fee that may not be applicable to you, once you signup, you will receive an invoice with the summary of the total cost.

  • Offer available to new residential customers who sign up using their CommBank credit or debit card.

Feels like only for first time nbn customers instead of new customers as they are taking $300 upfront

    • This offer is available to both types of customers who are already connected with NBN or getting connected for the first time, the only condition is that a customer must be living in an NBN serviceable area.

      • Thanks. Will I be charged $300 as mine is existing property?

        • Hey abhiz, if you are already connected with NBN, then you might not be charged.

          • @Manyo: "might" not be charged. He already said that he do have an existing one.

            • @Fredfloresjr: Hey Fredfloresjr, kindly DM us your address, so that we can confirm whether you will be charged for this fee or not.

          • +1

@Manyo: “Might not” can cost be $300 mate.
As I said, existing property and already got NBN.

            • @abhiz: abhiz, if you have already got NBN, then you will not be charged.

          • @Manyo: This is important to get confirmation that existing NBN connected/serviced homes don't get charged with $300. "Might" doesn't give us the confidence to proceed with the order. Don't want any headaches later on.. please clarify…

            • @koolchamp81: Hey mate, kindly DM us your address, so that we can confirm whether you will be charged for this fee or not.

              • @Manyo: DM sent

              • @Manyo: Can you check mine too? I will send you DM shortly

              • @Manyo: @Manyo
Can you reply my DM please?

                  • @Twix: Thanks, I already have NBN FTTP at this address but I wanted to make sure I won't be charged that $300

                    • @bghunter: The link will tell you. If you already have a working FTTP service you won't be charged again.

  • Does Tplink Archer VR1600v AC1600 work with this service? Also, is it easy to configure it?

    • Hey ozbozb, if the router is NBN compatible, it will work with the service, you will get the configuration settings via email, and you should be able to reconfigure the router yourself.

      • Great, I looked online and it seems that the router is NBN compatible. Another question, can my lan cabling/wall jacks limit the actual speed? I remember my current provider once mentioned that the maximum speed in my building is around 80Mbs. And if so, can I test this somehow before registering for the 200mbs speed?

        • Hey mate, Depending on the technology type that you have, the cables used can limit your speed, for example, if you have any of these technology types such as fibre to the node, fibre to the basement/building, fibre to the curb, or fixed wireless, then there is a high probability that you may experience issues with your speed, unfortunately there is no way for you to test the speed before your service has been activated.

        • 250Mbps is only offered on HFC and FTTP. What does it say on here? FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, HFC, FTTP?

          • @Twix: I just checked and it says FTTP. I found the NBN connection box, but it's in a wall closet. Does the modem have to be connected to the NBN box or just the wall socket (lan)? Sorry, I have almost on exp in this.

            • +1

@ozbozb: FTTP can reach speeds of 1000Mbps. The ISP rep who said 80Mbps is wrong for FTTP.

Your TP-Link VR1600v gets plugged into the nbn NTD or wall ethernet socket if available. It should be suitable for 250Mbps. For 1000Mbps you would want to upgrade from the TP-Link VR1600v.

    • yep. I use the one I got from TPG for my FFTN connection. Configuring it pretty easy

    • Yes it does. You will need to manually enter your credentials supplied by mate into the router at cut over.

  • Also how is the speed usually in Sydney for the 200mbs? I currently have 100mbs with iinet and only get around 50-60

  • Does ur service work with Asus RT-AX88U router?

    • +1

RT-AX88U can be configured for any ISP. Configure the WAN to PPPoE and enter your username and pw given to you from More Telecom.

    • Hey mate, if the router is NBN compatible, it will work with the service, you will get the configuration settings via email, and you should be able to reconfigure the router yourself.

  • +3

@Manyo Exactly how do we claim the WW eGC from Econnex after we sign up?

      • Don't have a commonwealth bank card yet, but planning to get one, do I still get the discount if I updated the payment details to a comm bank account after signup but before activation, as need the connection in July?

        • Hey huntress_love, unfortunately, according to terms and conditions you need to have a commonwealth bank card at the time of sign up.

  • Great deal! I'm with Superloop but since my honeymoon period is almost over I've been looking for a better deal.

    • Last time when I went for my honeymoon and said the same thing to my wife, she wasn't happy.

      • Looking for a better wife?

    • exetel (it's superloop) you will get the same discount for 6 months as you currently have as you are changing companies even though superloop own exetel

  • What your price on 1000/50? $99?

    • More Telecom don't offer Gigabit.

      • I thought it was a hidden plan that only available if you ask. Thanks for answering.

      • Any gigabit recommendations?

        • Telstra, Aussie Broadband, Launtel.

  • Does 100/40 Speed Boost NBN offers any major user experience and speed advantage over XXL speed boost nbn plan (100/20)?

    • Hey toyapple9, There is no major difference in user experience. with 100/40 Speed Boost NBN, you only get a higher upload speed which might come in handy if you are a content creator or a software developer and require a higher upload speed to accomplish your daily tasks.

      • Thanks Manyo for your reply!

  • sadly i joined just a couple of weeks ago..

  • I have CBA account but I don't have any bank card, Can I have the offer as well?

    • you need to pay with your debit card

    • You need either CBA debit or credit card..

    • Hey fengchu , unfortunately, according to terms and conditions you need to have a commonwealth bank card at the time of sign up

      • can I signup under my name and use my partner CBA card as payment method? will this still qualified?

  • Compares pretty well with the Mate deal.

Mate is $100 credit after 28 days. On the 50/20 plan, at $69 a month, you have to subscribe for 3 months to get the full value, and end up paying $107 in total (which is $36 a month)
With this one, you get the gift card after 90 days. On the 50/20 plan with the discount, it's 53.90 per month. Subscribing for 4 months to make sure, that is a total of $215.6. Minus the value of the giftcard (lets say $95.60 for simplicity), that leaves you with $120 for 4 months, or $30 a month. This works out even better if you can quit after 3 months and get a pro-rata refund, which I couldn't find any information about for More (Mate definitely does not allow prorata refunds. Its use it or lose it)

    • Mate definitely does not allow prorata refunds. Its use it or lose it

Most RSPs don't allow pro-rata refunds. Only ABB does.
I always set the churn date to one day before current billing cycle end date.

    • +1

Hey outlander, Please be informed, that more telecom does not allow prorated refunds either.

  • I am currently using FTTB and planning to upgrade to FTTP. Already have the NBN Co box. However, for some reason it is in a wall cabinet in the corridor. Does anyone know if I put the modem in a wall cabinet will that affect the speed? I think that the modem has to directly connected to the NBN box and that's the only solution. Otherwise, I need to link it through a long cable that's going all over the place.
    Thanks!

    • Hey mate, for getting upgraded to FTTP, you will need, to have an NBN connection box installed inside your apartment, without that you cannot get FTTP service at your address.

  • LOL, I get told: "You can get NBN at your address!" (No kidding, I've already got it) but then "No plans to compare" and a blank page

    • Hey mickeyjuiceman, please DM us your address, so that we can investigate the issue further.

    • Hey mickeyjuiceman, sorry for the inconvenience but the problem is not with the website. The connection type available at your address is not the conventional wired connection where an optical fibre or copper cable is used to provide you with the internet connectivity. The connection type at your address is Fixed Wireless which provides wireless connectivity through mobile towers.

      • Yes, I'm aware of that. And using the More website gives no trouble getting connection details, as I did it via the Commbank offer last week.

        • how do you check if it's not conventional wired connection?
I'm getting the same issue & prob not much response from Eccon….lol

          • +1

@squidz: I've got a wireless receiver on my roof :-)

Use the NBN map to see what type of connection you've got.
