Telstra is having a promo on the just released latest generation of Nighthawk mobile broadband modems: $150 off the M6 Pro and $50 off M6. Telstra website indicates the offer is applied when you add an upfront plan, but I was able to go past the plan selection page in the order process without choosing a plan, however I didn’t complete the order so I can’t say for sure whether you can get just modem with the offer without a plan.In the worst case you can add a $15 month to month plan and cancel it after the first month.
The M6 Pro has mmWave support, AX3600 WiFi and a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port with a new Qualcomm X65 chipset. The standard M6 is somewhat similar to outgoing M5 as it doesn’t support mmWave 5G nor 2.5Gbps Ethernet (only 1Gbps), but has AX3600 WiFi and a new Qualcomm X62 chipset.
I believe these are unlocked since previous Nighthawk M modems sold through Telstra were unlocked, and my M5 which I bought from Telstra last year was unlocked.
Data sheets:
I’ve been using the M5 for over a year as my primary modem for Telstra mobile broadband. I get around 4~600Mbps over Sub-6 5G from a tower 1.2km away. The modem is extremely stable, no dropouts or crashes and runs without the battery.
@OP: Are you in Sydney and selling your old M5?
