@mynameisborat: Look, Borat, maybe that's how "investing" is done in Khazakstan, but over here in OzB land, we only deal in high yield investments. Like eneloops, or Mercedes.
@mynameisborat: Keep it up dude, you're doing great work.
I invested in Nokia 3310, its value has been going up ever since.
Plus by buying Oppo, you're funding 100% to China so they can do more aggression in south china sea, and now to South Pacific countries closer to us. We fund China, they lend to those poor nations, and when they can't repay, a Chinese military base will be established in eg. PNG closer to home.
you been watching too much … Murdoch news, any money made from Oppo is a drop in the ocean for Chinese gov, do you know how much USD cash they have hence the anti-China move? that was 3,000,000,000,000 USD in cash few years ago. FYI, whatever phone you are using, except some Samsung, are made in … China
Murdoch news is the last thing I watch. I fear for the democracy in US and Australia due to Murdoch. US is going down the drain in 2022 midterms and 2024. Trump will be cozy again with Russia (inside and outside) and China (friendly inside rough outside for show). I know I'll get negs but in 10-20 years time when we'll surrounded by Chinese bases and still funding China, I'll at least be able to tell myself I didn't fund that and tried to raise awareness. PS almost everything I own from phone, tv, microwave, fridges etc. are not made in China and I actively avoid Chinese manufacturing from needles to cars. If every aware citizen actively tries to avoid them like I do, it will no longer be a drop in the Ocean now, would it? May be it'll happen after we get surrounded by a few bases and chinese fighter jets fly across our land everyday?

So tempted to jump ship and give Oppo a try. Came from multiple Sony phones then to Samsung with the S10e and now the S21.
What's the battery life like on these phones? Samsung phones seem to go down hill quickly after a year.
5000mah
From reviews I saw the battery life is pretty damn good
I am using x5 lite, and the battery life is fantastic, the screen is bigger in X PRO and the battery is slightly bigger too, so shall be holding pretty well too. In general, I am very happy with my oppo x5 lite (bought it when the trade-in deal available via JB HI-FI was available some 4-5 weeks ago). I was using my previous OPPO AX5s for three years, and did not have any issues, apart from starting being very slow.
I bought the X5 lite on the last deal ….. has mediatek SOC but I'm never going to root and reflash so not an issue , but works great for a $400 phone ….. I find the Oppo is great bangs per buck ….. although labelled as X5, the lite is really mid-range not flag ship but haven't seen much else for the money with australian warranty from a shop front and australian high power charger. Android 12 has been rolled out overseas for the Lite , now to wait for Australian release.
yep, a great phone for the amount we paid in that deal, bought for 2 years Australian Warranty too and fast charge and the battery life is fantastic.
Enjoy! 92GCAIHKJGUMEE

Tempting. I'm still using my p30 pro and it's still going strong and taking great photos. But nearly 3 years old and I'm getting itchy to try something new. This phone was only released 3 months ago so I think it might still drop sub $1000 before the end of the year. Probably pull the trigger then.
I'm rocking a Mate 20 Pro and still going good they also have a $59 battery replacement for June so might go with that for to keep me good for another two years
Thanks didn't know about the $59 battery, I'll check it out. Shame Huawei are not able to release Android phones they where so far ahead of the pack
Totally agree my battery at the start would almost last two days decent res screen and fantastic cameras paid $600 for it new at HN on clearance then Huawei did another year free warranty extension (3 years) total
Here's the battery link HUAWEI Service Carnival https://consumer.huawei.com/au/support/huawei-service-carniv…
love my mate 20 pro, but doesn't support volte or wifi calling on telstra. :(
I'm still on the Find X2 Neo with no real problems. I don't think the pro will drop below this price again until Christmas

I mean for the resale value alone I wouldn't even bother. So many good deals with Samsung atm especially through epp. Support would be rubbish, warranty god knows. Why Is anyone buying this?

Never would spend over $600 on an Android phone, no further firmware updates after 2 years, battery replacement cost more than iPhones.
samsung gives you 4 years no?
Why argue with someone who has already made up their mind?
haha couldn't resist engaging.
i used to own iphone and loved em am now on android …..yep android 2-3 year life span is a nuisance …..but i can for $500 get a large screen amoled android that has been released for 9 months.. and after 3 years retire it and get a new phone with fresh battery …….. i’d love apple to get into the $600 large screen phone market but that’s not their market to cut phone price by 40% after 12 mths of release ….it’s bring out a new model.

Hey guys, I got the last Oppo Find X3 Pro for $799 recent clearance at JBs, should I return it and change to this instead? For an extra $400? Thoughts?
Nah, the updates in the X5 Pro are pretty minor. $799 for the X3 Pro is an excellent deal!
Cool, thanks for that, I might just keep that.

Oh no, I was aiming to buy this phone for my wife before, but the release price in Australia was crazy. Then I just bought the Oneplus ten pro for her. It's a reasonable price now and I really like this phone.
