Just what my youtube channel needs. More frills, no more substance…

I've got one of these. Works well enough. Looks super cool.

Keep in mind if you want it right up on the roof it's likely to also hit your eyes as you walk into a room… Something I didn't account for. Kinda ruins the mood.

How does it compare to the photos on the Amazon page?

I've heard so many reports of these things looking nothing like the advertised output, so have been reluctant to purchase

Looks great honestly but to do what you expect it to do it has to be like in the middle of the room presented upwards…. Who has a room that works for that setup? I don't.

  • ngl these ones arent worth it, get the smaller ones with the big dome at the top, disperses the light way better

    • Can you recommend a good one?

      • one with a dome at the top

Looks like a very small light throw

    • Exactly this.
These are cool and all but the images are very misleading.
Don't be fooled into thinking it will cover your whole room because it won't.

the Mirabella Genio one is very good. I have two of them set up behind my lounge and pointing at the ceiling. (and worth mentioning the Mirabella one is actually the same model as the galaxylamps.io but at half the price)

note that i have two of them to get near full coverage on a 5x6m room.

a cheap USB to barrel adapter means i can run off a power bank when i take them camping which is fun when you have good tree canopy or marquee ceiling to project on to.

Im gonna grab one of these to compare.

    • Received my Blisslights galaxy lamp.

it isnt as feature rich as the genio lamp but does have blue stars instead of green and a somewhat larger nebula projection. I prefer having two independent Genio lamps because it allows for better control/colour combos but this will definitely be the one I take camping (native USB-C power input) or to house parties.

Id say for the money this one is a very good buy at $40. at $69 it competes with the Mirabella Genio lamp which is wifi enabled and has speed control and you can program in custom colours - this one just gives you a slider for each colour (RGB) to make your own and while it has preset modes for the laser and the nebula it doesnt allow you to customise them as well.

Im happy with it! but im keeping my eye out for the Genio V2 with blue laser/stars.

  • Ideal position for these is on the floor, in that position they are painful on the eyes as the light shines right into them. You can put them up higher but they become significantly less effective and if up high and angled for better coverage everything is distorted.

Calling this a star projector is like calling a can of peaches a conveniently packaged gourmet meal. Still if it's pretty and it makes your life nicer, and you have a spare $40, go for it.

  • Can anyone recommend a better version of this one, someone mentioned a dome type version.

Took a bunch of acid then laid on my bedroom floor for hours. The patterns on the sealing were the absolute pinnacle of interest for me during that time. Was kinda exhausting but enjoyable at the same time.

    • Hell yeah brother. Shrooms here but same.
