  • Don’t have the Apple one this time. Possibly because I used it last time. Have $15 back on $100 for Nespresso as well.

    • +2

It’s so random because I have $15 off $60 on Nespresso which is really good

      • Even better when you have offer from nespresso, mine is $10 off with 5 sleeves, one free sleeve of arpeggio with 9 sleeves, end up ordered 90 envivo lungo + 10 arpeggio + 2 recycling bags for $66.50 plus $15 Amex cashback.

      • I had that last time, which I stacked with a nespresso offer. This time it isn't appealing enough.

  • +1

Got the JB offer on one card but not the other. No Apple offer on either card but my Nespresso one was spend $60 and get $15 back. Also got a Booktopia one for spend $100 and get $15 back.

Notice the offers are not coming onto supplementary cards much now and credits are taking longer to post. Anyone notice this too?

    • Depends on the retailer. Placie was instant, Ampol took a few weeks, JB was pretty quick too.

Also got HP spend $1250/$250 3 times.

      • Do we know how long Apple credits takes to come back? Cheers

    • Thought it was just me, have not received any offers on supp cards for months now..

      • Supp cards no longer have any offer since April this year.

  • +3

Essentials Card - got Apple, HP and Booktopia. No JB.

    • Same

  • Got the apple one on my qantas discovery

  • +4

Got the apple, not jb. I'd prefer jb though

  • Got JB, HP & Booktopia but not Apple. Thanks OP

  • +2

Got everything but JB, Amex knows how to not offer me what I want! Kudos to them.

    • Shelve your card for 12 months. You’ll start getting the good offers again

  • +1

Would the apple deal ($80 off) work with the 10% cashback deal on cheddar on the apple education store website?

  • thanks - got this JB one

  • no jb or apple one :(

  • I got no new offer

  • +1

Can the offer be used on apple gift cards? The terms and conditions doesn’t explicitly say that it can’t… wondering if other people have tried this before to buy gift cards and still get the credit back

    • +4

Did this last time. Worked fine.

      • Thanks!

  • No sign of the JB one for me :( Got the Apple one tho and a HP one

  • Got Apple, HP and Nespresso. Not the JB, which was the only one I wanted.

  • Got Apple, JB Hi-Fi and HP offers - on Velocity Platinum card
    Thanks OP!!

  • No JB or Apple for me, Qantas Amex Ultimate :(

    • Weird, I got the Apple one, same card

      • Same card, no offer for me either

  • +1

Does this offer work on Apple education?

    • Im wondering the same, the only issue i can see is the edu website doesn't end with /au/

    • I’d like to know this too

    • yes

      • You've tried it?

        • Yes. It has nothing to do with Apple like that. Apple just gives you a bill and you pay the bill. Then Amex gives you money back. It has nothing to do with what you buy, or discount codes you use or anything like that. All that matters is what's on your credit card statement. Nothing more.

  • Got everything else but no JB. Kinda relieved, to be honest, as I only just spent $100 at JB the other day.

  • +1

Could we use this offer towards gift card purchase on JB hifi online pls, thank you.

    • +2

I did exactly this in the last Amex offer for JB and it worked.

  • Got JB Hifi, HP, and Nespresso. Nice.

  • +1

Got apple, HP and Nespresso $15 off $60 - didn’t save either to my card, don’t think I will use any. Will give someone else the chance who might need it.

    • +3

Same, I have 27 offers not saved! It’s exciting when a JB, Ampol or BP offer comes along. Been waiting for and offer from Gerry, but none forthcoming.

  • No JB.

  • Bought 2x $100 jb gift cards with two separate transactions tonight. Received no AMEX confirmation emails.

    • +1

I’ve never received email confirmations for cashback. It just appears automatically in your account as credit within 5 days

      • +2

They are hit and miss with the email confirmations….

        • I got mine a few hours later

    • Have you received the cashback?

      • Yes

    • May i ask you bought this in-store or online?

      • +1

        In-store

        • Thank you.

  • Got Apple but no JB.

However, upon checking CBA, there's a get $10 back when spend $50.

  • Velocity Escape card: Apple, no others.

  • Does this work with JB Solutions/Commercial?

  • Anyone got the jbhifi offer on platinum?

  • No JB Hi-Fi Offer, David Jones Card

  • So what's the best way to maximise savings with Apple?
    - Use AMEX card to spend on Apple EDU store ($800+) vs. wait for increased cashback offers?

    • +2

Probably to use Amex to buy $800 of GC, then wait for increased cashback to use it.

      • You mean Amex to use $800 worth of GC at Apple store? Seeing how this deal is only applicable to Apple :O
But yeah that's a good suggestion, rather than waiting for increased cashback (which may not happen by end of this month). Thanks!

    • Does anyone know of this offer works on the Apple Edu site?

      • Should do - it comes up as Apple on the credit card

  • It’s been a week and still haven’t got any credit back for JB Hifi. Bought a $100 gift card. Is it because it was processed by stripe?

    “SP JB HI-FI ONLINE SOUTHBANK”

    • They seem a bit slower than usual…just had to follow up on the Amex travel credit which apparently got missed…they are manually processing it and it could take up to 10 business days…

      • lol makes me doubt if I want to try again but I guess if they honour it through manual processing then I guess that’s fine. Surprised though as in the past these always worked perfectly.

      • +1

Yeah, credits have gone to the pack eh! Missing the Amex cashback as well! Live chat hasn’t been available for days. There is no issues, we will always get it, just a pain to contact them.

        • Was pretty quick to get through and get it resolved…so worth the effort…contacting their travel team however is whole other story!

  • +1

I was advised by Amex rep that both $100 charges are not posted yet and they were made through Stripe. Stripe is a 3rd party payment processor. Due to these 2 reasons credit has not been issued. This offer : Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor like Stripe.

    • Apologies for the confusion, but are you saying that you bought $100 gift cards from JB Hi-Fi's website, but that Stripe processed the payment?

      • That is right, Amex rep checked for me and the sale of JB gift cards were processed by Stripe, therefore ineligible for Amex Cashback offer.

        • argh same boat, surely this contradicts the eligibility of online purchases given we (afaik) had no way to steer it away from Stripe. Did anyone manage to get it honoured? May be a case of 'hang up and call again' to get another more lenient rep?

          • @ck: I've found the customer service to be woeful at AMEX side. They said they'd investigate it but I need to follow up in a week's time since they aren't able to contact me or provide me with an update.

        • that's pretty ridiculous. surely AMEX will make an exception in this instance.

    • Hmm.. one can argue that you purchased online on JBhifi.com.au, and get them to honour it, no? It's JB's problem for using Stripe and users will have no way to know what payment processor JB uses online?

    • +1

That's a shame. If you went in-store and purchased a gift card, it would have worked (as per comments above)

I wonder if AMEX will review this case and make an exception?

      • +2

Just an update after following up with chat today (after a week as they requested)

I see the escalation was done on JB Hi-Fi Spend $100 or more, get $20 back, up to 2 times. which has been closed in your favor
That is right,. Credit should appear on your billing statement within 5 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.

        • Awesome

        • thanks for the update. i'll give them a call after a week and see if I can get the same outcome.

        • Turns out mine posted on 1 July without any intervention from me, so thanks if your escalation unlocked it for the rest of us!

          • @ck: Mine also just posted 1 July. Maybe there were a lot of others who also complained!
