  • How many hours is that and what level of certification does it cover?
The 2 main trainers on Udemy are way cheaper than plurasight.
Also it seems those days any random person earns 6 figures in IT…

About 40 Hours of training total. Stephen Marek is the only trainer I recommend on Udemy and his course is $55USD for Cloud Practitioner alone which this includes
Amazon only has a 3.4% acceptance rate from application and I used to work as a Technical Support Engineer and was earning half of what my mate at Amazon makes

      • Stéphane.
I never paid more than $20 for any of his courses.
He's got voucher on his website all the time if not already discounted on Udemy.
Don't know plurasight, but would recommend Stephane too.

        • +2

Pluralsight owns ACloudguru and CloudAcademy and is the biggest player in the Cloud Education Space

          • @oldmates: Rephrasing : I know plurasight, just don't know the trainer of that specific course. RRP seems bs considering alternative on Udemy

  • What sort of knowledge would be required for you to start these courses? Would you need to be expected to have some basic understanding of HTML/other languages?

The main "wall" would be the number of services that they throw at you even on the foundation course, can be overwhelming.

  • Do a 40 hour online course then start on 100k plus . Yeah right…

    • +2

May be enough to get you across the line in an interview, if you can bs well, or if the interviewer is just terrible…

    • My friend also had a University Degree in Computer science from UWS but this got him over the line.

    • After these you will know enough to be dangerous, and at least indoctrinated enough to talk to the talk.

The last ones in the pathways after associate will be useful, but you would need to be using the services day-to-day to really pass those ones.

  • is this better than a cloud guru?

I have another friend who did the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Certification and is now a Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon earning 300k+stock+healthcare+travel expenses+signing bonus.

You do realise this is Australia and we don't have healthcare provided by our employers?

  • -Six months of exposure to the AWS Cloud
-Basic understanding of IT services and their uses in the AWS Cloud platform
-Knowledge of core AWS services and use cases, billing and pricing models, security concepts, and how cloud impacts your business0

Does this course provide all that? How to fulfill these?

    • Six months of exposure to the AWS Cloud

This is the real stupid part, none of the trial accounts for AWS last 6 months, and I would doubt any normal company would be happy letting someone run amok in a dev environ or prod for their AWS stack.
