@gotyourback: Hi GYB, I'm trying to lodge a missing cashback claim but I can't find my purchase date from the drop down selection, hence I can't proceed. I purchased on 20/5. What should I do?

              • +1

@vee_el: Could you send me a DM with your account email so I can take a look?

                • +1

@gotyourback: Hi, mine tracked but showing 'calculating'. Do I need to do anything, or do I just wait?

                  • +1

@Matta955: & @pluto No need to do anything, if it's tracked at 'Calculating' it'll be uplifted to $40 as mentioned in the T&Cs :)

                • @gotyourback: Hi I DM'd you but still haven't received a response yet

                  • @vee_el: Hi @vee_el, there are a number of DMs currently in my inbox that I cannot respond to until I'm back at my laptop on Monday.
I will get back to you as soon as I can.

                    Cheers!

                • @gotyourback: Hi GotYourBack,
My click history shows several clicks through your EBay Plus link (during the $40 cashback campaign) May 20, 23:33.

My EBay Plus purchase was made within minutes.

                  Can you please help?

                  Thanks

                  • +1

@GLO: Hey all! Happy to help get this sorted if it hasn't yet, shoot me a DM if you haven't already with your account info and eBay Plus email address so I can get this fixed up, I'll work through my DM's today and reply ASAP.

    • Hi GYB,

Thanks for replying. Gives us more confidence now that we will be getting the cashback.

I purchased on 21-May - still no tracking - apart from the automatic missing cashback tracking that shows 'Calculating'

I've lodged the missing cashback claim, and also sent an email to [email protected].

In the missing cashback claim, I simply put "eBay Plus cashback" since I don't have an Invoice ID (purchased using credit card and not PayPal). I've also attached the "Payment receipt for eBay Plus" email from eBay.

I hope that will be sufficient.

    • Hi, I’ve contacted them. But no confirmation whether I can get $40 cashback or not. How can we tell?

    • +1

I raised a ticket but someone in your team thinks eBay Australia and eBay Plus are the same thing and rejected my ticket. Should I send you a PM?

    • @gotyouback - Just realised I didn't get mine either… I normally trust ShopBack on this stuff… can I still claim it?

  • purchased on 23 May and still no tracking…this is utterly hopeless. I have submitted a missing cashback request but won't hold my breath.

  • +5

I trust GYB, he's always done the right think by me when I have had Shopback tracking issues. Frankly, eBay seems like a total mess these days. I sure as hell would not want to be negotiating with those nuff nuffs

  • @gotyourback is this deal expired or not? It's still on SB but it was marked as expired here. I'm confused.

    • +1

      Rep replied about it here

As they were not the one who posted the deal, they are not able to un-expire the deal. Not sure why anyone would report this as expired as the 'go to deal' still says $40 cashback.

    • It's marked as expired now. At least on this forum. Not sure if you can still access the deal itself.

      • Given the issues experienced by literally everyone….not sure why you would

        • They will just get added to the untracked pile, and will result in more work for GYB/SB.

Having said that, why hasn't SB suspended the deal on their platform until they resolve the technical issues?

  • Where do I find my ebay Plus Order ID, if I have paid by CC?

The "Transaction ID" in my CC history, looks to be a banking transaction id, rather than an eBay transaction ID.

And, in my eBay account, "My eBay Plus" > "Edit membership" > "View invoice" takes me to my eBay "Seller Account" where I can see that my CC payment of $48.99 was posted to my CC account, but I don't see any invoice/order details.

Is my Order Id the CC Description of "EBAY PLUS 888-749-322 AUS" rather than the Transaction ID which looks like a 37 digit GUID??

    • +2

I have the same set of numbers in my CC description (with an extra number at the end) so I don't think that'll be it.

If you go to your ebay messages, you should have received an email when you joined

      https://mesg.ebay.com.au/mesgweb/ViewMessages/0/All

subject: Payment receipt for eBay Plus

Not sure which can be used for Order ID, but maybe Authorisation code? Or maybe even the email reference ID at the end.

      • +1

Ok, I just chatted with eBay.
The invoice for my transaction won't be generated until 15 June.
But the 6 digit "Authorisation code" in the "Payment receipt for eBay Plus" email/message with the CC card, will allow eBay to match this transaction to my ShopBack dispute.

        • If you got the $20 voucher from signing up to eBay Plus then that comes with a code that looks unique as well. It was displayed immediately following signing up (I took a screen print of mine) and subsequently e-mailed. However, my e-mail didn't arrive until following day. I'll be keeping screen print as it shows date/time on my PC, which was 1 minute after clicking through Shopback's eBay Plus link.

  • -2

Does anyone know if the order ID looks like this —> "EBAY PLUS 888-749-3229 AUS"? found it from CC transaction description

    • +1

Seriously? The exact answer is ONE comment above yours

      • -1

ops.. Thanks, I didn't read it

    • That's American phone number

  • Mine didn't track either so I lodged a missing cashback claim. If I was the only person that had this problem then I'd be concerned. However, given it's a widespread problem, I'm confident it will get resolved and we'll get the cashback in due course. There's too many people complaining about it not being tracked for SB to not honour their offer. It would be a PR disaster and I suspect SB would have a case to answer to ACCC. So if you did the right thing and it didn't track, just lodge a missing cashback claim and wait for SB to sort it out.

    • +4

A lot of us, including myself, didn't get our $40 cashback from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/691848
I did everything correctly with the purchase and lodged a cashback dispute, which was rejected with the 3 generic reason, none of which was applicable.

So at the moment I'm $80 down with ShopBack

      • If the reasons they gave for BWS knockback are not applicable then respond to them accordingly. Have you tried contacting/raising with GYB?

        • That will be my next step.
I thought it best to chase one problem at a time.

        • Exactly, push back and say you haven't done any of these naughty things.

  • I don't seem to be able to report a missing cashback. I go through the process of reporting it but it finishes with saying it hjas tracked at $0 and gives me no option to lodge it for investigation. Have DM'd GYB

**** Just a note if you paid for the eBay Subscription with PayPal, eBay setup an "Automatic payment" so go into PayPal and CANCEL it.

    • +1

exact reason why I never use Paypal for that, Only use a Debit card, which I can cancel later, so then cannot charge me again. (Just as a triple safety measure. I do normally however remove the subscription always manually though

      • Many of these subscription based services you are legally contracted with the provider until which time you cancel the service .

In such circumstances cutting the funding does not end your financial liability if the business chooses.

Whilst eBay is ok in this regard , others like Hello Fresh will persue customers ruthlessly if they just cancel the funding source without cancellation.

    • Found BWS and Petstock had setup Automatic payment as well so it pays to check.

    • It should be okay to cancel after the first charge has gone through.
The other side (eBay) won't know it has been cancelled until they attempt to pre-auth or charge.

    • +1

      Thanks for pointing this out.
      Just cancelled mine.

      • ):

        • 1000 upvotes.
Also disappointed in the foreign exchange charge. $1.47 Grrrr.

    • Good idea and good advice!
Can you do this in the app? I can't seem to find where to do it.
      Using mobile ATM

  • Lodged dispute today, as suggested.
Pending status now says "You can expect confirmation by 25 Jul 2022…"

    i.e. wait for 2 months! :-(

    • +2

I hope the mods will keep this thread open for the next 2 - 3 months.

  • Following this thread because i also didn't get my subscription tracked.
    Lodged a ticket.

  • One side question, did anyone's credit card charged an Overseas transaction fee for this. I am with ANZ and they are saying Paypal is sending the transaction to them advising this is charged as overseas transaction being eBay Marketplaces as vendor.

    • +1

      Yes.

      See here

    • +1

I paid directly with ANZ credit card, no international transfer fee

      • It is PayPal that is passing on the international transaction fee to the payer's bank.
The vendor is listed as: eBay Marketplaces GmbH.

A Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung is a type of legal entity very common in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.

eBay Plus is collecting GST from us, but their underlying legal entity and payment processor is based overseas (possibly a corporate tax bypass measure).

        • I was confirming that the issue is definitely with PayPal since I did not get the extra charge paying directly with the card.

eBay Plus is collecting GST from us, but their underlying legal entity and payment processor is based overseas

Businesses based overseas are required by law to collect this if their GST turnover is A$75,000 or more from sales connected with Australia.

You make it sound like they are pretending to be from Australia and collecting Australian GST lol

        • I paid with Amex via Paypal, no fee (yet).

      • Interesting it is Paypal then…. valid reason for disputing the charge….why they never indicate this when paying…

  • What time did this $40 annual eBay plus expire yesterday? I signed up middayish on the 27th using the working link from shopback. Shows up in my history as clicked only so far.

    • +1

The deal isn't expired, mods have marked it as so due to the tracking issues. This is the reply from them when I asked why it is expired.

We'll unexpire it when it starts working/tracking properly.

      • Ah nice thank you fellow legionair xD

  • Would have negged if I could, 8 days and didn’t track so forced to submit🤬

Not against dealbot, but stinking SB

  • +2

Hmmm combined with eBay Plus Weekend complete non-event, I’m having regrets 😒

    • +2

Ditto. I could have done without the stress, and other than the membership itself i've bought nothing .

  • Purchased eBay plus on 25/05. $20 coupon received and tracked with Shopback as $40 cash back. Thanks Shopback.

    • Picture or it didn't happen…

        • wait this looks legit, maybe its been fixed for people subscribing now…

          • +2

@CodeXD: Be nice if they looked after the one's that purchased earlier .

            • @chrisie: Agreed. Not sure why it worked tbh. Had to wait until the 25th for my plus subscription to expire.

              • +1

@flimfacc: I'm happy that you have managed to get the $40 cash back tracked, just shows there is hope yet for the rest of us.

        • I got this when I raised the complaint too, yet in my history it's still "calculating".
Can you please share pic from your cashback activity.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: My history says "calculating"

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: Cashback history actually states “pending”.

I didn’t make a claim - but was going to if necessary after the 3 days.

I think they’ll honour it, but it may take some patience.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt:

I got this when I raised the complaint too, yet in my history it's still "calculating".

It will be the same for everyone until Shopback completes their tracking manually.

        • +2

Your pic doesn't look right to me.

Puchased at eBay Australia instead of eBay Plus.

Have a look at the two Shopback stores:

          • eBay Australia is for your regular eBay AU shopping transactions.
          • eBay Plus is for tracking Plus membership purchases.

        • This picture is misleading. The store name is meant to be Ebay Plus, not Ebay Australia. The cashback for Ebay Plus didn't track, but the cashback for your regular Ebay purchase did.

          • +1

@AwesomeAndrew: But to get $40 that's a lot of spending on ebay Australia…

          • @AwesomeAndrew: This should be pretty easy to rule out if the flimfacc made an eBay purchase without GST of $2000 (of 2% category) or $4000 of 1% category

            • @USER DC: $1000 spend on any of these categories will get you $40 cashback

Health and Beauty ( New eBay Customers ) 4.00%
              Jewelry & Watches ( New eBay Customers ) 4.00%
              Fashion (New eBay Customers) 4.00%
eBay Motors - (New eBay Customers) (Capped at $100) 4.00%

Although if flimfacc received a $20 coupon he won't be a new customer.

            • @USER DC: I can assure you I didn’t spend either $2000 or $4000 on eBay.

Still have no idea what the deal is.

          • @AwesomeAndrew: I agree, it’s weirdly worded, but I can’t explain what else it could be.

  • +1

I also subscribed on 21stMay but it hasnt tracked yet.

Look like need to submit missing claims

  • When I go to claim a missing shopback:

    Thanks for the information!
eBay Australia needs 7 days to track your purchase. Please come back after 2 June 2022 to check again!

    • Come back after June 2

    • look at the positive….I got 14 days…lol

  • +1

ShopBack rejected my ebay membership missing cashback claim.

Got an email this morning saying they can see it "tracked successfully" in my cashback activity but those are my ebay purchases with $20 sign up bonus and eBay's spend $90 get $10 deal.

    • +1

      eBay's spend $90 get $10 deal.

Wasn't this deal from December 2021? IIRC, eBay also screwed that one up - sent the gift cards out like 3+ months later.

    • +1

Your $40 for the $49 eBay Plus membership was rejected??
      Already??

      • Ouch.
        What was the excuse?
I'm still waiting for the decision on mine ( purchased around 10.30am on the 20/05)

        • Not me
I had to lodge a claim. As did everyone else it seems.
@CodeXD seems to have had his rejected already though?

      • +1

Yep, its so stupid and "Jasmine (ShopBack Australia)" was completely useless.

        Reply from SB

I've replied saying that no it has NOT tracked successfully and for them to fix it.

        • +2

This is all going to go wrong for Shopback on so many levels

        • I got the same reply? Cannot see it being tracked successfully anywhere in my account

        • Is it me or does that email not make sense? Good news, your rejected cashback was tracked. Doing my head in.

        • I still have faith that GotYourBack will try and fix this mess eventually.

But, what is going on with ShopBack?

Emails that say good news, your latest cashback has tracked for $0.00 but didn't qualify for cashback? Huh?

With this promo, I used Chrome with the ShopBack Buddy, went to the Shopback website, clicked on the link that had the $20 voucher that took me straight to eBay Plus, paid it, got the emails from eBay to prove I went through with it, all with timestamps. Just track the $40 already.

I then have a 20% purchase tracking from Canningvale, but 20% of $59.99 should be $11.99, not $10.90 as per the tracking. So, they're taking GST out? That's my only guess.

And, my latest one… I made a purchase on Nike.com.au using Edge on my desktop because I couldn't be bothered faffing about with ShopBack for a few $, and somehow that pops up as being tracked with $5.40 instantly… what? Edge doesn't even have an extension installed (unlike Chrome/Firefox). I did click the ShopBack app yesterday to see if Nike was there and how much cashback was on offer, but backed out and placed the order on my desktop today.

          I'm so confused lol

          • @Graffin: All cash back I've seen is always on the amount minus GST. It usually mentions this in the terms.

            • @rski: For this deal, the cash back is a flat rate of $40. So, you don't need to worry about GST or what not.

              • @DoctorCalculon: I know. I was talking about their Canningvale transaction.

        • Maybe you’ve submitted a claim for $48.99 when the amount supposed to be $49? I’ve no clue as well and I’m still waiting on my submitted cashback claim too

Still shows as calculating on the ShopBack app

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: It is $48.99 on my invoice, and the ebay payment, both of which I sent as part of the claim.
