BWS: 40% Cashback (Capped $40) @ ShopBack (Saturday 2/4 1-5pm AEDT)

4530

I reached out to GYB to see what deals will be available for their 4th birthday promo. GYB advised of this offer and mentioned that banners for this promo will be live on the Shopback website sometime today.

GYB has also confirmed that the cashback will stack with BWS's $10 off $50 spend for new accounts promo.

This is the highest cashback offer I've seen for a liquor store.

Woww 40% cashback? This is a new standard. Your move, Cash Rewards :D
Even though my petrol bill has gone up drastically but it's being offset by cheaper alcohol price.

    • +29

Time to use alcohol as petrol

      • -8

Octane like alcohol ? not possible
so guessing you mean use ethanol (alcohol) for e85/e100 cars

Not sure what you are saying,
you can do otherway around generally easier with ethanol that's supposed to go into e10/e85 fuels (BUT HAS NOT BEEN BLEACHED WITH BENZENE AND OTHER TOXIC SUBSTANCES like METHANOL) for drinking.
Ofcourse not easy government will loose $$$ so kinda have to be treating the company as an employee.

      • +2

It would blow the fuel injection manifold and take you a month to rebuild it…

Clearly no BTTF 3 fans here….

        • WHO THE HELL DOWNVOTED THIS. REVEAL YOURSELF.

Yeah, SB really has the best cashback deals.

I've only been doing cashbacks for 6 months. I've done a few with CR when they've had better rates at the time or for some select deals (this was a great one for a 6-month SIM). But my experience has been SB has the better and more consistent deals. And my experience with tracking and approval have both been good.

If I was recommending a cashback service for a newbie, I'd suggest they start with SB. I know I did, they attracted me to signing up before CR.

      • -8

        You'd be wrong.

      • Agree! SB always automatically tracks and pays correctly. Complete opposite experience with cash rewards.

        • +1

I find both equal (both track) as long as no AdBlockers are in the way. Shopback do have better deals these days but CR are still decent and more accurate to amounts tracked. SB needs monitoring due to occasional lower than expected cashback hence needs chasing on occasion which is an inconvenience. Both are free $$ and to the whingers…..just don't use if unhappy :-)

    • +2

Petrol is $2 a litre, I wish vodka was that cheap

  • +5

This is a massive cashback indeed. Well done Shopback :)

  • Stunning!

  • +12

    Jeez that's good.

Everytime I say I am going to quit drinking for a while a new deal comes up to tempt me.

    • I had the same problem last year so I started trying a range of non-alcoholic beers while I still got my fix of bargain hunting. This one is made by Modus Operandi and tastes OK if the weather is still warm: https://bws.com.au/product/117052/nort-refreshing-ale-330ml

      • It says Don'ts for Non-Alcoholic purchases though. I assume non-alcoholic beer and wine is not eligible.

        DON'Ts
Champagne, Penfolds & Non-Alcoholic purchases (unless stated otherwise)

        • I've never had a problem with receiving cashback from NA beer purchases, probably because they are 0.5%. I think that condition relates to soft drink etc.

  • $10 off $50 spend for new accounts

CR indicates this runs out today?

    • +2

BWS has approved these payments during the upsized rates.
So CR will only be eligible for payment on the discount/code today.
We will only be eligible for payment on Saturday with our upsize.

      • Does it mean that the code received for a new account will not be valid for cashback? The new account code has validity for 30 days from received in the email.

Appreciate it if you can clarify a bit more.

        • +3

The code will be valid within our Flash Sale hours.
If you use the code outside of the Flash Sale hours, you will not receive the Cashback :)

          • +1

@gotyourback: Has BWS given any advice on his long the code email takes to come through after you’ve signed up? Cheers 👍

            • +1

@del preston: Nothing was mentioned to us, but a few people mentioned it too several hours in the comments below.

              • +1

@gotyourback: Do you actually need a new account or the code is enough?

  • +4

    May God bless your livers

40% capped at $40 for 4 hours on our 4th birthday.
What a way to kick things off 😏

    • Happy 4th! You should celebrate with 40s but can't get 'em here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malt_liquor

    • +3

May the 4th be with you

      • April noob. Isn’t the 4th. Fail.

        • Reference was to the 4th date. I guess I've failed in months counting

    • +1

Hi GYB, is there any deals or upsize cashback on ebay during this 4th birthday event ?

      • +3

        Maybe 🤫🤐

    • +1

So if next year birthday (5th), 50% capped at $50 for 5 hours on your 5th Birthday?

What about 10th Birthday? I like to see that.

      • +2

        Not a bad idea 🤔

        • +1

          100% cashback, capped at $100 for 100 hours on ShopBack's 10th birthday

Banger of a deal right there aye

    • To get $40 cashback exactly, do I need to spend $120 less $10 off for new BWS account?

    • Any birthday gift for someone who's born on 4th Apr (like me)??

    • Hi gotyourback,

Seems a lot of people do not have their purchase tracked. This was happened before with upsized BWS promotion I remember. Can you looking into this issue?

      • Hi @huiteng, I've provided a response here.

        Cheers!

  • +12

$110 is the magic number to maximize this deal, two cases of Cooper Pale Ale for $60 sorted (55.20 after return and earn)

    • +1

      I though was after 111.11

      • I am guessing that would equate to a max rebate/saving of 36% of the GST inclusive retail price.

    • Woo hoo!

    • +1

Thank you for your maths! Not all heroes wear capes good sir!

    • ^ OP. Please add to OP.

    • You blokes better not buy all the Coopers. Just sayin'…

      • Nah, all yours… I'm going to grab a carton of their new Red Ale to try.

    • Are you factoring in the new BWS $10 or didn’t add GST back in?

      • Not factoring in the new BWS

        • Hmmmm. $110 less $40 is $70.

    • $108 sitting in cart waiting for tomorrow

      • +1

I think it is safer to empty your cart before tomorrow…

        • Good idea. Will definitely do that

  • +4

looks like I pick the wrong week to quit drinking

    • +6

      There's always next week. /s

Nah seriously good luck with it. Maybe put ozbargain away for awhile

  • +2

Oops .. just used 35% with CR ..

    • +4

      Why not do both \_(0.0)_/

      • +12

Then you've saved 37.5%, which is objectively more than 35%!

        • +3

          stonks

  • Can some one confirm when the $10 off for your first sign up promo will expire ? E-mail from CR suggested it was tonight.

    • Need to know this too…

    • OK, I think this means you can sign up for the discount code today and use during the sale on Saturday as its valid for 30 days.

    • +1

How long after sign up do you get the code? I'm still waiting for mine after 4 hours

      • I got mine in about 30 mins. I beleive there all the same code though.

        • same here in abt 30 mins…
