      Mate, I can vouch for GYB and my eBay Plus membership was tracked. Give it some time and if you’ve followed the requested steps from GYB to submit a missing cashback claim, I’m sure ShopBack and the team will take care of it

      No need on that tone and language and your inappropriate negative vote if you haven’t followed the said instructions

      • Yes i got one of the two accounts refunded, But isn't it supposed to track both, and then fail on one. That's normally how the CB works with SB. The problem is the date tracked is of neither of the two accounts I signed up for, so not a clue what account has that $40 been related to

        Even if the $40 is received, this deal is richly deserving of a NEG given the stress it caused everyone.

      Also if you’ve cancelled one of your eBay Plus memberships, wouldn’t it be easier and save the time and effort for GYB and ShopBack and not track the cancelled account? As you can tell GYB has been flat out on the DMs lately

        Yes but the thing is that I dont even know that $40 tracked is for not cancelled account, I dont know if that $40 tracked is belong to account that was cancelled, If such was the case that $40 will be rejected after confirmation period. Then I dont see $40 for the other non cancelled account. I dont think GYB can help here either in telling me which account was $40 belonging to.

        Have asked SB to ask the external team which eBay account does that $40 tracked belongs to.
        This is all because of tracking at wrong date honestly. If the tracking date was correct, there wouldn't be a problem most likely.

        • Mate, the part that you highlighted off is the order number, which then you’ll be able to compare with the payment receipt that you received from eBay upon signing up

            If so that's not the case at all,

            There is nothing in common between that number on Shopback website and the payment recipt PDF from eBay (of either of eBay plus accounts I signed up for)

                My missing Cashback request is separate from that $40 tracked.
                None of those CB requests have been rejected like others have reported here that they get email saying CB rejected, then $40 gets added. In my case no rejected CB email, just added $40 with a random ORDER number.

                You had a wrong assumption that the number underneath is present on the payment receipt of eBay plus, I think.

                If it was that easy SB wont be needing to contact any external team to find out which eBay account that $40 belongs to, or GYB would have had told me.

                  Mate compare the whole tracking with the section you highlighted off with both emails that you received on your separate email accounts.

                  You would’ve entered an order number when you submitted the missing cashback claim. USE THAT and COMPARE with both emails you received from eBay Plus titled “Payment receipt to eBay Plus”

                  There wouldn’t be a case when ShopBack just magically added $40 without linking to an order number you submitted via missing cashback claim. That’s not how it works

      • Mine finally tracked just past midnight this morning (12 June) and I also received an email update to my missing cashback report to confirm that the missing cashback had successfully tracked and credited to my account

        I understand there's probably been a lot of manual checking on SBs end, so thanks for finally getting this sorted and also thanks to GYB for your help and engagement with the community.

        I will say that the wait was an absolute killer, especially after reading comments from those who unfurnished got their claims rejected. Definitely relief to have mine finally track that's for sure!

  • I signed up through this. It seems to be working now after contacting them.
    But it seems to have triggered something in the eBay system to charge me 55 cents from 2020. They sent an invoice.
    I think that was around the time I was selling a small few items for a couple of dollars with no final value fee promotion, but the still tried to charge me. They also added a $15 payment 'dishonour' fee because I didn't have auto payments setup. I ask eBay chat to find on the website about this fee and he couldn't find it because it wasn't anywhere! He said be aware this is a fee. I said it's not even listed on the fees on the website! Dodgy.

    Looks like some patience is required here, but it will get sorted in the end.

    I now have $40 showing as pending (available by 20 Aug 2022).

    For those that are waiting, just to give an idea on lead times:

    21-May purchased eBay Plus. No tracking showing in ShopBack.
    26-May after waiting the recommended 5 days, I submitted a claim with ShopBack (which then showed the amount as calculating).
    27-May I messaged GYB separately to make sure I was included in the "mass-fix" that had been discussed here.
    31-May GYB replied (reasonable response time given the volume of messages they would be getting!) who confirmed my details and assured that my case will also be investigated.
    5-Jun ShopBack is now showing the transaction as pending.

        They are processing every single claim one by one (i.e. manually). So, GYB and SB team have their work cut out for them.

        What astounds me is how the eBay Plus store was onboarded without any basic end-to-end testing of purchase tracking. This whole fiasco could have been avoided if there were some smoke tests before going live.

        • Yes absolutely correct, I get SB to track my orders from their chromium extension.

          And it would like track without even me having to click on the Cashback extension. (mostly only for those eBay $0.00 transactions - transactions with use of a voucher/promo code).

          But this one where i had screen recording of going through their website link, and then also having normal eBay AU activated, they still cannot have had tracked both of the $40.

          Hey mate, I assure you there was and always is end-to-end testing for all our merchants before we send them live, unfortunately despite our best efforts and intentions, things can still unexpectedly go awry from time to time. If and when it does, though, we are committed to making sure it gets fixed up ASAP.

        Hey mate, if you submit a claim via our website, this should be sorted just fine, however I asked community members to message me so that I can track the claim process myself and chase eBay Plus directly so I can be sure our community will get the cashback. Most tracking issues are resolved simply be submitting a claim, in this case since it was an issue affecting the community widely, I stepped in to make sure that this was being seen to with urgency, which is why I asked folks to reach out, It's been a mammoth task, but worth it to me so I can stay in contact with community members directly to provide updates on their specific cases and so that they can be sure that their frustration is being heard and their claims seen to.

    Mine came through this morning. I logged a missing cashback claim a week after the original purchase (following advice from GYB in this thread) - all dealt with by ShopBack, updated the tracking with the correct value $40, pending, available 23 August. Thanks to GYB for the regular updates here!

    Sent a message to GYB a while ago (he's responded with updates a few times), also lodged Missing Cashback from the click activity as suggested. It's taken a bit of time, but not much effort (for me at least). I figured as long as they sorted it before it's meant to be approved it's all good. $40 now tracking. Good deal. Also got the $20 voucher, so pretty happy. Getting paid $11 to have ebay plus feels about right.

    Maximum only 1 x $40 per Shopback/eBay Account.

    So technically quite glad I managed to get one of my membership refunded. So i wont have to be worried on that, if I didn't had that refunded, would have had been down $40.

    But Kinda shame also that Shopback didn't disclose that only 1 $40 per Shopback account, i mean they did discourage it but didn't say that was ineligible.

    Mine tracked last night.

    Three lessons from this experience:

    1. Cashback affiliates don't set out to rip you off - that's not their business model.

    2. There are bound to be teething problems now and then, but cashback affiliates have great customer service and will sort it out.

    3. Many Ozbargainers are children. They carry on like a pork chop, throwing tantrums, think they're entitled to the world, won't wait more than a day and threaten to never use the business again. I can't speak for thees businesses, but I don't think many want children for customers.

      Putting this peccadillo aside, SB has been a very good provider of cashback services IMHO.

    I lodged missing cashback claim. Purchase was on 23/05. Have not heard anything back from Shopback. Currently sitting on "calculating".

  • After putting in a claim shortly after it was first mentioned to I got the claim approved email this morning and amount moved to pending for August.
    Probably wouldn't of noticed had this problem not been mentioned in other threads here on OZB.

  • Having issues trying to use the $20 voucher. Keep getting the following error on the final payment screen - "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."

    Trying to buy https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/384674611146 and three of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182675132075?var=485225183383

    Total comes to $22.04 and I am trying to use gift card of $2.04 to pay the balance.

    I'm wondering if the issue is because there are two different products from 2 sellers? Does the $20 voucher need to be used from only one seller?

    Or is it because trying to use gift card to pay balance? Do I have to pay the balance with credit card?

    • I was able to use the $20 sign up voucher with a $50 ebay gift card plus the left over $3 through PayPal successfully last week. It definitely is possible (or was when I did it).

    Mine was untracked, then I claimed a missing cashback after 2 days (22/05), and just received following email today:

    Thank you for submitting a missing cashback claim.

    We have appealed this missing cashback claim with the merchant and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the cashback along to you.

    ShopBack awards cashback on your transactions on the basis that the merchant attributes your order to ShopBack and pays us a commission, they are the deciding party on a sale being attributed to ShopBack.

    Learned my lesson.

  • What the….from comments above, all those initially that jumped for joy when their $40 got manually tracked after 3 weeks or so, are about to be bitterly disappointed when all cashback claims are rejected.

      They should be still in pending 60/90 days from transaction.

      • It’s literally in our comments above this that ShopBack reps are contacting us telling us it will not be honored, expect more comments as people get contacted throughout the day.

        • None of those had their $40 tracked. They raised the claim, and it got rejected.

          They are in a difference scenario compared to those who got pending $40 in their SB account.

      For me as well now its tracked in a way that I know which account it is linked to (aka email is in order ID), only problem I still have not been made clear which account is the 22 May tracking linked to. I think I have some clue to which account it is linked to, just not 100% sure.

      Anyway as SB email said they will only approved 1 $40 so not much hope, But some hope nevertheless

    I received an email from shopback saying that I can save $40 on eBay Plus on the 20th May.

    Opened the app and purchased the subscription through the app by clicking on the promotion, not through an external browser.

    I jumped on it early before the link in the app was updated to the $20 voucher page, do you know where/how to contact ebay to receive the $20 promo?

      • Because mistakenly my understanding is that the cashback will be tracked upon payment to eBay. The free trial ended yesterday and eBay charged me $49 yesterday and I set a reminder to check in with shopback today!

    I think shopback pulled the rug under my feet. I purchased on the 24th, got confirmation shortly after that it's tracked and saw a pending $40 shopback. Now scrolling through my click history it's just showing as "clicked" no pending shopback

          you can buy multiple items too (aka buy items from different items of smaller $ value until $15 item total is reached)

          some examples are coin batteries, gloves, LED lights, USB cables etc

        I got mine renewed via the chat. Apparently it expires the same time you signed up, I signed up at 1am so it expired at 1am on the expiry date.

        I thought I had until midnight on the expiry date so they issued me a new code.

    I sent GYB a message 10 days ago and he said it will show up in the next few days - didn't happen. During these few days 30 days elapsed since the transaction so the Shopback website doesn't allow me to file a claim anymore.

    Sent him a follow up message 3 days ago, no response.

  • Interesting to note that shopback has rejected all my Amazon cashback since December last year. Too much a hassle to check what orders it was and raising complaints for each of them considering the eBay plus debacle.

    That's the last straw. Check all your past transactions people, there is something fishy here. Shopback won't get my business anymore.

  • Mine is still showing pending validation, with an outcome by 20th of August. I have no mentioned of it being $40 pending yet. Hope this gets sorted.

    I just used shopback again for something else on the 29th and have had to make a claim again. Had little use of Shopback in the past but it always worked. These last two transactions do not give me confidence going forward.

  • Decided to check ShopBack for the first time since buying this, and noticed it is under "Click activity", but not "Cashback activity". I paid the money on the day of this deal since I'd already had the free trial in the past. Tried to lodge a missing cashback request but it says they do not process them after 30 days. Given it takes months to get the cashback, why do we only get one month to raise one of those requests? I wouldn't have bought the subscription if I knew cash back was not guaranteed.

      Tried to lodge a missing cashback request but it says they do not process them after 30 days. Given it takes months to get the cashback, why do we only get one month to raise one of those requests? I wouldn't have bought the subscription if I knew cash back was not guaranteed.

      The 30 days is if it hasn't tracked, which you know after 2-3 days and you can raise a claim after 7 days.

      • There is no cashback under eBay Plus. I kind of just assumed it would track when I made the purchase (I use Chrome, no Ad Block, and don't switch tabs when making cashback purchases). I'll check that things get tracked in future, but it would be better if I didn't have to check each time.

    • Don't worry you can ignore that 30 day message, send your ticket in anyway. They will honor this particular one due to the issues. I emailed them about the problem after a month and they have tracked it no problem.

        • I just chatted to them on the live chat (via website) and their live chat agent (human) fixed it up, by approving it somehow IDK.

    mine got rejected. ive logged a claim. not happy since this is the only reason i signed up.

    My cashback got rejected, this is very annoying. I did exactly what the store rep said, purchased the eBay plus membership via the mobile app, and it's the only reason I signed up.

    Mine was rejected as well. I followed the prompts and still got rejected.
