None of this SAVE $x as your opening offer. Get to the point, keep it short and simple.

  • Simple Google search yields similar prices, this seems more like RRP/standard pricing. Not really a deal.

  • Ah the problem with places having sales more often than not. People don't actually believe you by default. Its like buying a dell monitor on full price. Surely no one does.

My current favourite from Dell is this and this.

  • Looking at getting a 34" but I'm wondering whether to go IPS or VA.

I recently got a 1440p 27" IPS monitor because I wanted more accurate colours for work (in aerial imagery), but my new monitor produces a weird glare that I wasn't getting on my old 1080p VA panel. My home office is fairly well lit during the day with a window behind me and the glare is so bad it gives me a headache. It's not a full glossy glare you would expect from a glass surface but it's really uncomfortable. So I have to close the blinds to cut the glare, and when the blinds are closed they bang in the wind, so I have to close the windows, which makes it hot and stuffy (and when it's hot and stuffy, I get irritable and when I'm irritable I can't sleep… so in short this monitor is ruining my life 🤔). Has anyone had the same experience with glare on an IPS panel?

Something like this monitor looks good (IPS + lower curve than most) but I'm worried that this glare issue is IPS related and that the higher contrast of a VA panel might solve the problem.

    • Hi there peterjacko,

This seems like the typical issue experienced with glossy screen monitors. What was the model name of the 27" IPS monitor which was causing these reflective problems?
Our BenQ monitors are also the glossy type, albeit with anti-reflective coating. It will be advised to determine the cause of this issue before you purchase another monitor!

      • Definitely want to figure this out before I buy another.
I have the ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD. No mention anywhere about glossiness or anti-glare/anti-reflective coatings. It's on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of price, but so were my other ones and they were just fine…

The anti-reflective coating might just do it but I wish I could take a monitor home to try it first!
