[NSW] Ryobi 18V ONE+ 2.0Ah Jet Blower Kit $99 (in-Store Only) @ Bunnings Chatswood

470

Compared to the Ozito blower in the other deal, this pushes out up to 200 CFM. The Ozito pushes out up to a max of 105 m³/h which converts to about 62 CFM.

Comes with 2.0Ah battery and charger - great for those who prefer the Ryobi ecosystem.

Seems to be in-store only (and checked Chatswood only) as website price not showing the same.

  • Arghh so close, next size up please, trying to replace a 2 stroke stihl

    • You need more like 36v to be more similar

      • +1

True but I don’t want to go that far, I’ll be keeping the stihl for the really rough jobs but the biggest 18v would do 95% I reckon

  • Not bad but need a vac and blower!

  • Nice!

The Ozito Jet blower is the beast you want if its bang for buck power. Leaves the little blower and even this in its dust.

  • I paid $149 for this and it's been great. Great value for $99 if you're on the platform

  • How much was the masport mower to the right?

    • Think it was 449, don't quote me on that though lol

    • +1

      Hey mate,

Went in this morning to pick up the aforementioned Ryobi, it was $499 (OP was very close on price), they have a stack of them though so they'll likely come down further.

  • thanks. need the trimmer

  • Perhaps since it's a Jet Blower you might compare it to the Ozito Jet Blower (see https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-x-2-brushless-jet-… which is currently $149 but has been heaps cheaper in the past) - then the Ryobi is significantly weaker on air volume. The Ozito has 816m3/hr which equates to 480cfm, or more than twice the air volume of the Ryobi. And having used the Ozito jet blower for many years now, I love it as it's the strongest I've used - especially when you hold the turbo boost button down!

    • Thats 36v. Ryobi is 18v. Does "jet" actually mean anything? I'm assuming it's a marketing term.

      • +1

Jet should have an axial fan

        • Jet just means liquid or gas forced out of a small opening

          • +1

@Ryanek: I believe when it comes to blowers it means they have an axial fan as opposed to a centrifugal fan?
At least that’s how it has been with every electric blower we have tested at work.

  • Bit of an odd kit.
Even the old school blower - the famous $99 w/ 5Ah kit that many like me got :D - says it'll only run for 15-20min on that battery.

A 2Ah battery ain't going to be putting out 200CFM for long …
(both capacity wise and max current wise on a 1p pack)

    • Yeah. Not sure the target market for this blower. It’s brushed and heavier than the baby brother but without much advantage is airflow, it would seem. The next size up brushless is probably a better buy.

Even the trimmer in the photo is odd. It’s only 40cm long in the blade. Too short for most hedges really. Maybe for a small apartment patio?

      • Maybe it's a ploy that encourages people to then pay up big for a 5Ah battery hehe

  • +2

:( if only it was nationwide.

Does anyone know of any QLD stores selling at $99?

    • Show the pic to the floor manager. It'll be at his discretion. I've managed to price match this way a few times.

  • I am new to garden maintenance world hence the "beginner questions" below:

What do people generally use the jet blower for? I assume the lawn mower already "vacuum" the mowed grass? Or is this more to be used with line trimmer?

When we mow/line trimming nature strip, usually it creates a bit of mess on the side of the road and on the pathway. Do people generally sweep them after or just leave them on there? Or is this where the jet blower is being used to push everything to one place before being swept and thrown to the green bin?

    • Yes. Plus you'll find a few other uses, cleaning out the shed etc..

    • +8

It's used to wake up your neighbours 7am on a Saturday

    • Some people use it to dry their car. God knows why.

    • +5

Some people use it to blow into charcoals for bbq

      • +1

Never heard of this, but gunna buy it for that reason alone.

      • +1

        Yeh it works wonders

    • +1

      Thanks for the inputs!

    • +2

I use the blower to get the leaves off deck onto lawn, blow the grass from the trimming back onto the lawn for mower to "vacuum" as you put it, used it to get the charcoals going, drying the car and blowing the dust/crap out of the shed. It's just handy for a quick tidy up.

I have the 18V AEG fusion blower though.

  • I bought this before, too weak and had to return it.

  • I have this as well as the 36v variant. This one doesn't have variable speed control (all or nothing), the battery is criminally undersized for the amount of power this thing draws and the air volume is mediocre.. it'll move grass clippings / dirt, but you have to get fairly close to it which narrows how far it reaches on the sides. This translates to lots of sweeping back and forth and it hammers the battery as a result. I now use this exclusively to blow all the dust / dirt out of the car and that's it.

In saying that if you've got a small yard / area to clean then you'd be wasting money going for the 36v, this is sufficient for that.

  • To Bunnings !

The hedge trimmer kit looks more interesting to me!

    • Ditto after the old one died after 5 years. Me neeeeds in QLD!

    • Bought that hedge trimmer kit a week ago at $149, was surprised at how decent it was. Not amazing, but decent. Very good value at $99.

BR 800 C-E MAGNUM is the go to.

Others you might like are the bushranger commercial or the sthil 86ce.

Atleast these will last more than a week unlike the Ryobi.

  • +1

Surprised no one said this deal blows.

    • +1

      This deal blows.

      • So now I have to reply with - But it blows that it doesn't suck?

        • The Stihl BG86 can blow and suck! Even with a lot more power than this!
