The 150 they quote is actually the read speed. They rarely quote the write speed because it is usually a lot less; but hopefully not as low as 30-40.
Amazon have the similar SanDisk 128GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C for $25.80. Luxe edition is all metal. I'm not sure about the Go edition.
Luxe edition is metal.
Go edition is plastic.Both have their pros and cons, and they both heat up just from being powered.
Mainly for me, Luxe gets unbearably hot to touch, whilst Go drops speed a little sooner.
I've got the metal version and think it would be more durable grab the plastic while banging about on my keyring. Good size and decent speed.
Grab = than
The plastic is similar to the Sandisk Cruzer blade, so a little flexy around the USB-A connector.
I personally haven't had any problems with it, but my coworkers have somehow managed to snap a few in the USB-A ports….
I could also see the swivel part potentialy coming off if you give it enough force, or a year of fidgeting.The metal version OTOH is super rigid and would probably snap a few USB-A/C ports if given to my coworkers…
It also has a nice weight to it.
Luxe definitely heats up.
Don't expect write speed to sustain 150 during long transfers, most likely 30-40 which is more than enough for majority of users.
