    Price includes delivery.

Just hoping they use AusPost. Last time I ordered a case (not from BoozeBud), they used Sendle/Couriers Please and I didn’t end up getting it for 2 months after it got lost and found in a warehouse a few times over.

    • +2

Sendle is so shit. Ordered a pickup from them, and they just never turned up.

      • I had the same thing happen with Sendle. Booked a pickup, they don't show so I cancelled and sent via Aus Post instead. 2 weeks later I get a knock at the door at like 7am with a guy saying he was here for the Sendle pick up. Amateurs.

Not hard since canberra is the only capital city of Australia 😂

  • +3

Fave beer of all time, just which it was a tad cheaper :)

  • +2

Won the best craft beer in Australia a couple of times in a row,

Way over-rated. You need to keep it quite cold or it sours up quickly. Alright for one or two, but there are much better beers out there.

    • I agree, anything from Fixation or Mismatch is worthy of the title in my opinion!

    • +18

Darn was looking forward to a couple of warm ones.

      • -3

Yeah, it's not a lager that you can slam down. There's plenty of flavour so you need to sip it.

But usually an IPA gets better when it's gotten a tad warmer then 4° from the fridge.

This is like a lager which needs to be drunk ice cold or its sour and even a bit skunked.

Blackhops have an article explaining it.
        https://blackhops.com.au/best-temperature-for-beer/

        • +4

There's no way a traditional IPA can sour, unless you're claiming the batches are infected/cofermented with lacto or something (very unlikely, Bentspoke have great QC)? Also no way for a beer to skunk in can, that occurs when aromatic hop oils bare hit with UV/sunlight.

          • +1

@Schmiddler: Agreed. OP has no idea what they're talking about.

          • -3

@Schmiddler: Well I drank it. It had sour and a bit of skunk flavour. I didn't say it was skunked. Anyway neg away,

    • +1

Mmm there are definitely better beers, but this has always been one of my favourites under 6%. You got any recommendations for others in that category?

      • -1

I'd say my favourites in the (Australian) IPA's
        Are
        Gage road Sleeping Giant IPA
Balter IPA (but that's abouve 6%)

And if you really like a hops kick the Stockade 8 Bit.

This is an incredible beer. Tempting.

  • How does taste compare to well known cheaper mainstream pale ales? As it's pricey

    • +2

It’s an IPA so is hoppier and heavier in alcohol volume

I’d love to pick up a few but the misses rolls her eyes at some of the case prices these days. At least it has a proper case volume, which is becoming rarer in craft beers these days

      • +3

Think of it as $50 for a 16pack, which is cheap for craft!

    • This has taste.

Cheaper mainstream pale ales do not.

    got a couple…. thanks!

  • +10

    I miss the old lids

    • +1

As far as I know the sprocket still comes with the old lids. Its a better beer, and also on sale with the same code.

      • I much prefer sprocket but since it's 7%, I find crankshaft easier to enjoy

    • +2

I did a brewery tour and this came up. They had to go back to regular lids as government wouldn't give them the 10c recycling tag as the big lid removed too much aluminium from the can. They said they wished they could keep the open top but need to abide by regulation.

  • Really good beer!

  • Damn, getting a "This code can't be applied to your order."

    • worked fine here.

      • Turns out my eBay account was originally a UK one and hence couldn't have the discount. Created a fresh account and it worked just fine

  • Is anyone aware of the delivery timeframe when ordered via BoozeBud eBay?
Via app it's pretty quick, not sure of eBay

    • +1

It's usually pretty good. Sometimes they have used their next day sometimes Aust post and it's taken 2 days. Regardless they ship typically within a day.

    • My order says I should have it by 9 May

Won the best craft beer in Australia a couple of times in a row

Won the most popular beer in Australia, not the best.

    • +1 this

  • +2

Good deal. Some bars charging $16 a can.

  • +1

Hands down my fave IPA <3

  • Thanks OP got myself a slab

  • Still getting through the two slabs of Dad and Daves from easter… :/

  • OOS :(

    • Then you should report it as OOS

  • Any beer that someone else likes is crap in an Aussie blokes opinion. Goes for cars too.

  • OOS

  • +1

    this or free Furphy

    • +3

Furphy if you like the taste of stale sweat in your mouth

    • Furphy if youre over the hoppy herbal brew IPA/wine snob trend and want a regular balanced beer

  • +3

FYI it won " hottest craft beer " not the " best "

    Because it's not the best.

It just got the most votes as it was probably the most well known / well distributed.

    • -3

So you're telling me Trump wasn't the best president between 2016 and 2020… No way!

    • Definitely not the best, but would definitely recommend it over any of the other beers in that top 10

    • I know someone who worked at Bentspoke until recently and can tell you that their social media & marketing team works extremely hard.

The other thing they have going for them is that they own the market in their state/Territory as there are few other brewers in the ACT. Most other states have a lot of competition (eg. Marrickville in Sydney has 6 good breweries). Consequently Bentspoke get a higher percentage of the votes.
