EARLYSTOCKTAKESALE

Hey Oz Bargain Community,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the recent shorter weeks due to Public Holidays.

It looks like the public holidays threw a few spanners in the works for delivery companies, thankfully it was just a few and not the kitchen sink too :) Now that the public holidays are done for the moment and shipping channels are clearing nicely, plus Mother's Day's around the corner I've decided that we should have an impromptu stock take sale early and it launches today, 40% off our entire range!!!

Here's the deal highlights:

We're offering you a 40% discount off our entire available range (from only $13.97 per 500g usually $23.28 per 500g, and $24.33 per 1kg usually $40.55 per 1kg, see link below) for orders placed until 04/5/2022. It's options galore, you can pick from 6 different delicious options, 2 Single Origins, 2 Blends, 2 Decafs. You can pick from the available green circle dispatch dates on the cart page https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/361387/95535/3rd_may_s… There's two available scheduled dispatch dates per week until the end of June currently available to reserve. Dispatch can happen for you as near as this Tuesday (Tuesday and Wednesday are now at full dispatch capacity, Friday still has some availability) and as far as the last Thursday in June. Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed :)

  • Boom.

    Bought 2 x 500g.

    • WOOHOO "BOOM" what a way to kick off the comments!!!

Thank you so much for your order, we really do appreciate it :)

  • +2

    Same here.

I got the Moments to Memories Blend 1kg Bag!!

    Support Aussie businesses!

    • That terrific to hear, nice choice, got to love Moments (truth be told I love them all in one way or another, if I didn't we would sell them) :)

Thank you so much for your order and thoughtful support, they are both truly appreciate and neither will be taken for granted by us!

  • Excellent timing and my favorite coffee beans.

    • Wonderful, music to my ears thanks heaps for that most welcomed compliment and your order too, it really does mean the world to the team :) :) :)

  • I still have stocks from AirJo but would like to try this! Any recos out there? I'm a fan of strong/rich blends

    • Nice question, I'm glad you reached out!

I'll let others provide specific recommendations based on comparisons, as we generally don't comment on other companies. However, in the meantime hopefully I can point you in the right direction. To clarify that I'm interpreting your "strong/rich blends" comment correctly, do you enjoy more of a chocolaty than fruity coffee? Do you have your coffee black or white (with milk)?

      • I think Im more chocolatey than fruity. I mostly have Long Blacks but I also make lattes :) Thanks for the response!

        • +1

Sure thing, thanks heaps for taking the time to shoot through that extra helpful info!

I believe our Brazil SO and Moments to Memories blend will be the best bets to suit your personal preferences :)

    • +1

The standard blend is pretty good, but I'd give the SOs a try given the price. Always been good in the past. Have a read of the description for both and pick the one that suits you best.

  • Thanks, bought a kilo of the São Paulo single origin to try

    • Oh nice, I didn't realise that had a São Paulo bean, jumping onto the website now :)

      • Sounds terrific, very happy our SP SO caught your attention, fingers crossed it keeps your attention enough to want to give it a shot :)

        • The São Paulo roast is muito bom :)

    • +2

Fantastic, thank you so much for your order and giving us a shot, it's an opportunity we won't take for granted!

Hope you love our São Paulo SO, it's delicious, hopefully that doesn't sounds too biased (think that boat sailed haha) :)

  • usually an Inglewood man but I am keen to try, any recommendations for v60 ?

    • +2

Nice question, appreciate you reaching out and the opportunity!

It's good to mix it up every so often, we welcome our wonderful customers to try other companies without feeling bad (sometimes we get email about people feeling bad they purchased elsewhere before coming back to us). That way if they come back to us (which we certainly hope they do) they're not thinking "what if" and they know they've found the coffee they love. As mentioned above, we generally don't comment on other companies, so I'll leave comparisons to the community if that's also of interest to you. In terms of our roast profile, all our coffee suit V60, but I know that is a less than helpful answer haha Just let me know whether you prefer more of a chocolate or fruity flavour and do you have your coffee black or white (know V60 usually means black, but some have V60 white)? Once I have your answers I'll be able to point you in the right direction :)

      • thanks for the recommendation, prefer black and fruity coffee in the v60. cheers,

        • +1

Terrific, thanks for the speedy reply, our Peru SO should hopefully be the winning ticket for you :)

  • Onto my third kg of Brazil São Paulo Single Origin.. Great tasting coffee! And good work adding the delayed dispatch date to the order confirmation page.

    • +1

Amazing to hear, thank you so much, your continued orders really do mean so much!

Very happy to know how much you're enjoying our fresh coffee, thanks heaps for the compliment too, I'm a coder in progress with lots of progress to make haha :)

  • Which decaf is better Tom, the EA process?

    • Great question!

I wouldn't necessarily compare them by saying one is better than the other, as it comes down to personal preference. I think the best way to compare in this instance is to highlight the primary difference:

SWP is more of a chocolate coffee
EA is more of a fruity coffee

Let me know if you have any more questions about these ones :)

      • thanks I'll try the EA first, still loving the Brazil SO single dosed from my freezer

        • Terrific to hear, glad my response was somewhat helpful, hope our EA is a winner for you!

Wrapped to know you're "loving" our Brazil SO :)

  • bought 3 x 500g bags to try Peru/Brazil/Moments2Memory, I will be freezing them, so hopefully it will last longer.

    • Outstanding, got to love the mix and match :)

Thank you so much for that fantastic order, it's truly appreciated!!!

Freezing will extend the shelf life, good call :)

      • Actually just on that, have read many conflicting opinions on freezing coffee beans and I thought the consensus was not to do it?

(just purchased 2x500g bags of MTM with two different shipping dates, thanks for the deal :-)

        • +3

          Nice double check!

I believe the way you've ordered is ideal for maximum enjoyment. Get the good stuff fresh and place several small orders with different dispatch dates (one of the reasons we offer our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch system), so you don't need to fuss about freezing. However, I know this increases the shipping cost for people and their life admin by placing several orders as opposed to one larger order.

From my personal experience the freezer does extend the shelf life, so if someone purchases more than a month's supply then the freezer is a great idea. Domestic freezers will slow the aging process, some commercial freezers can go cold enough to virtually stop the aging process in its tracks. A defrosted clear freezer is best, as coffee is porous and can change based on its surrounding atmosphere. It's best to pre-portion (vacuum seal or just push out as much oxygen as you can) about a fortnight's use of coffee at a time before freezing, rather than opening and shutting a bag in the freezer to regularly remove portions. If the bag is opened in the freezer you're introducing more oxygen and any other food aromas in your freezer.

Thank you so much for your order with us, it's truly appreciated. Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Just on that, if I did not freeze the bean, what is the timeframe I should finish the 500g coffee beans for maximum enjoyment? 2 weeks? I drink 2 coffees a day, so a bag might last 12-13 days?

            • @bwsl: Hmm great question, not sure if my answer will be as great, but here goes…

Top points for your maximum enjoyment attitude. I won't try to answer in terms of your personal coffee enjoyment, I'll leave that to you to figure out. However, I'll let you know what I do and also general guidelines to help point you in the right direction.

I like to taste a given coffee from the day after it's roasted up until about a month from roasting because I find it a somewhat mesmerising privileged to be able to experience how the flavours change and develop. Not so much in a "look at me I know about coffee way," more a "I'm a bit of an odd ball" way haha. It's usually the small changes in life I appreciate e.g. I'm the same way with my plants, I look and appreciate the changes everyday and those changes help me learn to take better care of the plants, just like taking note changes in the coffee I roast helps (hopefully) me make our coffee even more delicious. Perhaps the above is why I enjoy and so look forward to my morning coffee outside everyday (regardless of the weather) surrounded by plants to kick start my days :)

Anyways I think I've started rambling, so I'll get back to the point. I think your time frame for 500g is spot on for consistently delicious coffee. Aroma place a huge part in the overall flavour. You'll likely find in the second week after the coffee is roasted to be when the uniquely wonderful aroma of that specific coffee absolutely sings. If you are making espresso style coffee, you'll also find you're getting better extraction in the second week. With filter style coffee, extraction quality is easy to achieve with super fresh coffee due to the "bloom phase" at the start of the brew. I think you have the following covered but I'll mention it anyway. If your current stock level at a given time is going to last you more than a month for some reason, then it's best to portion out the extra, vacuum seal if possible and then freeze it.

Feel free to shout out if you have any more questions:)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: p.s. it's cool to pre-portion roughly a month's supply too, I just personally think when it comes to freezing two weeks is the go :)

Bought for a change from Airjo, shame it isn't free delivery

    • +4

Thank you for the order and opportunity, neither will be take for granted!

I know it's never fun paying shipping, but on the bright side we subsidise our flat rate shipping fees, so on average shipping costs us more than we charge you. Generally speaking from my experience I'd say that when you get a product shipped you're paying shipping whether it's explicitly stated or not. Some products incorporate the shipping fee into the product's cost (free shipping), others separate the shipping fee, I don't think there's a right or wrong, different strokes and all :)

      • -1

when you get a product shipped you're paying shipping whether it's explicitly stated or not

        Shame it isn't cheaper then.

        Very keen though :)

  • Good deal. Do you get many African beans - particularly Rwandan or Kenyan?

Filter drinker only here, so lean heavily towards those.

    • Would also love to see what Blue Lime could do with an African SO

      • Morning :)

Appreciate the second for this request!

We've offered a few African SO's before and we're continually on the look out for our next African SO to offer.

As mentioned to @boirganz "We do currently have a small amount of a Grade 1 Ethopian SO in our green (raw) coffee reserve. We're roasting up a small batch for one of our customers to add to their recent order due to a nice email request from them. If you'd like some of this Ethiopian included in your order (if you place an order for this deal or already have an order for delayed dispatch) simply send us an email today (sooner the better). Before you email us, please note due to the cost of this SO (not currently listed on our site) it would be full price and it's a bit more expensive than the coffees currently listed on our site :)"

    • Great question, appreciate you taking the time to reach out and show interest in us!

We do offer African coffees from time to time when the quality, price and quantity available all hit the mark; at present it's a little tricky to get all 3 factors to hit the mark. Previously we've offered SO's from Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya.

We've cupped some wonderful coffees from Rwanda, however, I don't think we'll offer an SO's from Rwanda in the near future. Unfortunately Rwanda is one of the countries with a prevalence of the PTD (Potato Taste Defect). In a commercial setting it's easy to identity and purge through a grinder until you get back to the good stuff. In a domestic setting purging out the PTD if it's in a given bag could mean wasting 10-20% of the bag depending on whether it's a 500g or 1kg bag. If you haven't heard of the PTD, it's caused by a bacteria (research thus far shows it's not toxic/harmful to people) and is believed to be associated with bugs present in that region. The PTD is close to impossible to identify visually, which makes it hard to be removed during processing, the bug itself needs to be addressed before it transfers the bacteria. The PTD is very easy to identify by smell, the name of the defect gives it away, if you've ever cut a raw Potato and some of the Potato juice has dripped onto your chopping board it usually give off a distinct smell, the PTD gives off a very strong version of this smell when coffee is ground and the PTD is present on a bean.

As we omni roast all our coffees suit both Filter and Espresso style coffee. Based on the two countries you've mentioned I believe our Peru SO will be the winning ticket for you. We do currently have a small amount of a Grade 1 Ethopian SO in our green (raw) coffee reserve. We're roasting up a small batch for one of our customers to add to their recent order due to a nice email request from them. If you'd like some of this Ethiopian included in your order (if you decide to pull the trigger and give us a shot) simply send us an email today (sooner the better). Before you email us, please note due to the cost of this SO (not currently listed on our site) it would be full price and it's a bit more expensive than the coffees currently listed on our site :)

  • Best for coldbrew?

    • Nice question!

They'll all be delicious for cold brew, it does come down to personal taste preference. However, if I had to pick a single one for cold brew I'd go with the Peru SO :)

      • I ordered the Brazil São Paulo before you replied so I guess we see how it goes haha

  • Great deal op. Especially the delayed dispatch. Just placed 3 x 1kg orders with staggered dispatch.

  • Bought a KG of both single origins. Delayed shipping was helpful in this regard. Cheers!

  • Which beans are $24/kg? The single origins are showing up as $49.98/kg for me ($29.99 after discount).

    • Nice question, always good to double check!

$24.33 is for our South Central Blend, that is the price for 1kg in a 1kg bag, the SO prices you are seeing are for 1kg in 500g bags AKA 2 x 500g bags. On each product page you can pick between 500g and 1kg packaging, 500g packaging will add $3.60 per kg (this includes the discount) to cover the extra packaging, labels and time :)

      • Yep ugh

        Totally missed that other dropdown.

        • :)

    • Moments to memories is ~$24.50 a kg after discount

      • ~Spot on, appreciate your input :)

  • +4

    Bought a week's worth, 4kg.

    • +1

How many share 4 kg? Respect if 4 or less

      • Only 1.

        But I kid. Takes me around 10 days for a kg. 5-6 doubles a day @ 19 g.

I just miss out on respect.

Meanwhile, respect back for the space before 'kg'.

        • that is still almost double my 3 doubles or 2 doubles and 2 single cup Kalita Waves per day so still impressive caffeine tolerance - i am jealous

  • The Colombian SO is still my favourite. Will that be available in the near future?

    • Love that, the Colombian sure was a special one!

We've been trying to get more for a while, but it's been tricky due to what's happening in the coffee world and shipping world recently…shipments meant to be arrive in November still haven't arrived due to shipping windows being missed and …However, this will not deter us, we'll keep working towards offering this incredible SO again!

p.s. our Peru SO is the closest option we have the our Colombian SO at present, might be a winner for you in the meantime :)

  • +2

Your coffee passed the fussy wife blind taste test.

    For me too 👍

  • Trying to decide between the two decaf options. Any insights/comparisons?

    • Sure thing, appreciate you reaching out to check!

"SWP is more of a chocolate coffee
EA is more of a fruity coffee"

Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions :)

  • Hi, got a couple questions:

    1) I usually drink half decaf half normal beans - what would be the best combination?

    2) The last 1 kg decaf bag I got last me for 5 months … so how much you recommend me to buy? (It still taste good though!). I usually put around 250g in a small bag for everyday use then the rest I put in a vacuumed seal bag

Just got a new Rancillo Silva so excited to finally get the most from fresh coffee beans :-)

    • Morning :)

Nice questions, thanks for asking and congrats on your next machine, indeed fresh is best, new setups are always an exciting time!

      1) hmm as we roast our Decafs as SO's rather than blends, our profiles for the two aim to bring out the best for those individually, rather than blends which aim to bring the best results together as a team. As such, blending a SO with a different SO or Blend may result in inconsistent or slightly tricky extraction, due to different levels of porosity of the coffees. All that said if this is your system and it makes you happy (which is the most important thing) then I'd say your safest bet for a caf:decaf combo is our South Central blend and our SWP Decaf

      2) Happy to hear about your "it still tastes good though" comment. If you keep 5 months supply of everything you must have a mighty big freezer haha. I think our smallest bag option may be the best bet for you, so perhaps go for 500g this time so you don't need to stock pile. Then pre-portion that bag into ~1 month supplies for your vacuum seals bags (love that you have this) to be frozen.

Please let me know if you have any other questions and I hope you don't take any of my comments as negative, just want you to have the full picture before ordering from us, so any surprises are good ones :)

      • Thanks for the recommendation! The reason I do half decaf half normal beans is my body is not handling caffeine too well - so instead of getting a half shot of normal beans or full decaf, I found half half serve me well.

But yes I certainly found finding the best grind setting tricky, especially my husband drink full caffeinated and sometimes different beans. So thanks for the informative reply :-)

The only reason I stocked up 1kg was because of the “spend whatever amount you get free shipping” haha. But your deal is good enough for me to pay for shipping :-)

  • +1

Am a bit of a coffee snob, only drink freshly roasted coffee. Have tried countless roasters across Australia.

I can vouch for these guys, their coffee is delicious and obviously extremely well priced with their offer.

Going to top up now :)

    • Ditto.

I've had the LB Peru - a little more fruity than I'd normally like, but delicious when I cut back the milk component. Going for the São Paulo this time with delayed shipping to help avoid a stockpile.

I've tried (& liked) many of the other coffee seller offerings made through OzB and been generally pleased. LB has to be in the top tier - helped along by first rate sales support. An example to be emulated!

  • Hi OP, can I change my delayed dispatch date to ASAP. This is a result of my miscalculations and I am hoping this can be done. I sent an email yesterday requesting the same but i have not heard anything back.

    • +1

Appreciate the follow up, yesterday and today for that matter are a tad hectic.

Thank you so much for the order, it's truly appreciated!

I believe I've replied to your email. If I've somehow missed it please simply send a "?" reply to the email and it'll get pushed to the top of the inbox :)

  • Couldn't help myself, bought another 2 x 1kg for delivery next month! This stuff really is fresh and tasty, had no idea what I was missing. My daily consumption has doubled as a result!
Trying the Brazil SO this time - enjoying the M2M blend much more now that I'm using the right dosage for my stove top expresso.

It's also nice when you receive the bags in the mail, even the outside smells amazing! haha.
Thanks for selling great coffee guys.

    • +3

My postman said once, "I can smell the coffee" - I discovered he had a decent machine himself - gave him a kilo and have had exemplary delivery service ever since!

  • Hah, might have to try myself.

  • first time trying the single origin Sao Paulo (ordered 3 X 500g) i hope i like it :)

    • Great tasting coffee. Love it.. Thanks @limebluecoffee
