  What is the point of this? It doesn’t seem like it would be very ergonomic when walking around with a rod dangling from a single point?

    If you're in the water and need to change a lure/fly, remove a fish, you can clip the rod into the holder and it frees up both hands. You don't walk around with the rod clipped in. This looks "similar" to the Smith Creek rod clip which sells for $35+. I was given one of the Smith Ck clips as an xmas present. The zinger thing broke the first time I used it. That was the end of my Smith Ck experience. The O'Pros rod holder looks a more sturdy option, again not cheap.
