to be fair most of these types have a short life mostly due to washing accidents.
I stopped breaking them when I bought Bodum.
Unlike ADLI or K-mart, the glass is not sealed, but has a small hole with plug. Seems to be much stronger.
ah fair enough…. my Mrs has broken 3 bodums too so didn't realise Kmart/Aldi were even more fragile
I've gone all in with Bodum for coffee and tea. The last 250ml batch I got from Amazon worked out at just a bit more than this deal. Just had to set up the camels and be patient!
One breakage out of 10 over 2.5 years so fairly durable. I still have a couple of Aldis but they're not as nice to drink out of IMO
Agree… my Bodum one is pretty much indestructible — used it every day for many years. Just don’t (obviously) put it in the dishwasher
@tharlow: Mine go in the dishwasher daily. But top-level only. Shiny clean and no breakage or water inside.
So the plug is a feature? I thought it's a manufacturing impairment. :D
Agree! I have switched to all Bodum too, way better quality than the Aldi ones. After 6 years of use my Bodum glasses are still good as new, while the 2 Aldi ones I bought last year both leaked through the bottom hole and became unusable.

Is the leak due to being dropped?
No. The Aldi ones are finished and sealed with a tiny hole at the bottom filled up with soft plastic. Over time the plastic will come off during wash and water will then go in the insulation part between the glass and can’t be emptied out :( only the Aldi ones did this, while I wash all of my double-wall glasses the same way. I had to chuck the Aldi ones away within months of use.
Sounds like a pretty bad design flaw.
These ones (250ml) are $9.97 for 2 on Amazon, probably price matching Myer, but Myer is out of stock.
It's a decent deal if you have Prime to take advantage of free delivery.

Purchased and using right now, better than KMart etc as these are Microwave safe. Slightly heavier than my Bodum glasses, doing the job purchased for.
Bought 5 sets 2 years ago and now I have none…either dropped crushed or leaking at the bottom….
