Penrite HPR 5 Engine Oil 5W-40 10L $134.99 (Club Price, $78.80 after Price Match with Repco & $30 Club Credit) @ Supercheap Auto

90

Supercheap have the 10L for $134.99 - with a $30 Club Credit on any purchase over $100 on Penrite.

I also had Supercheap price match Repco who have this on sale for $108.80 (https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fluids/engine-oils-fluids/e…).

134.99 price matched to $108.80 with a $30 club credit - effectively $78.80 for 10L

  • Thx OP! Penrite FS ATF also not bad price after credit. Has been cheaper before but for FS currently i think its not too bad a price.

Headline price not so exciting - then I saw final price of $78.80. Now that's really good, almost as good as Nulon special pricing. Penrite seems to command a higher price.
And an interesting looking funnel chucked in.
Buy now, think later about whether the viscosity is correct.

    • It's suitable for wide range of vehicles, euro and jap.

If you want your engine oil to keep oil pressure and not break down halfway through the service interval, it's Penrite or nothing IMO.

      • +1

I wouldn't have believed this before but most recent oil change has penrite and car seems much happier throughout the service interval and almost due for change

Also it's supporting an Australian company

Changed from Penrite to Nulon on the last few deals have come up on here, Much better.

  • Decent price on Penrite

  • 5w-30 is recommended for my ecolpi falcon, any experts or enthusiasts here know how much this differs?

    • You'll be fine

    • It's a "meh" from me. I've also got an ecolpi (220,000km on the clock) and typically use whatever semi-synth or full synth 10W40 is on sale 🙂

  • This particular Penrite oil is comparable with other brands of 5w -30. However, Penrite always add "extra ten" for their marketing purpose so they can chanrge higher price.

Amazing I brought this few years back 2018/19 $60 oh the good days .but a good price for current times .

  • +3

I'd rather wait for a good deal on 5 L ones, like 5L oil for <$17

    • -1

      Full synth for $17 lol

      • +1

The GW 5W40 was $17. Liked when the Penrite ten tenths racing was on sale for $40, it's good stuff.

        • -4

A blown motor is alot more expensive than buying cheapo GW.

@JPNx: As long as product meets the manufacture's recommended viscosity and the the API /ACEA etc oil specs that meets its all good to use. Although I personally try to lean towards Castrol or Shell's products, change my oil and filter every 7000 km or 7 months (whichever comes first- mostly month comes first).
Its more important to change oil than to buy a specific brand of oil in a car.

@USER DC: I got this Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 (Listed for $39.99 during the easter weekend) for almost $10 stacking that $14 CB for $14 spent, $3 CB for $5 spent and $10 CB for $10 spent on ebay and ebay gift cards.

Something like this, LOL so pissed I missed this.

      • I have gotten Castrol Edge Synthetic 5W-40 5L for $10 before, (+ a $5 delivery), I bought other stuff as well to make my delivery $5 well spent.
Sure you cannot doubt that this isn't a Full Synthetic oil.

        • Is Castrol Edge actually a Group IV oil? Legitimate question as I remember reading that they were only group III oils ages ago.

          • @stylsh: I think group 3. For genuine group 4 there's Penrite ten tenths, Mobil 1 gold, royal purple and others.

            • @chyawala: Yeah I use 10tenths for my car running e85.
