Can you please give me an example of a protein powder with a shaker for free deal, so I can compare it to the protein powder without a shaker deal I have found, and calculate how much "free" costs.

      • The margin that most supplement retailers make on supplement products varies from $5-$10 for generic whey all the way to $50-$80 for larger packages. If you're picking up $300-$400 worth of supplements at a retail shop it is negligible for most retailers to throw in a free shaker or shirt or similar.

If you're doing brand comparison, often the price varies minimally. Many brands have but 1 supplier in Australia. If you're doing ingredient comparison prices are all over the shop. The issue however, is after a while many people buy on taste more than they buy the cheapest. Supplements can be hard to gag down especially after a gruelling workout, and most people will pay a bit more for something they find pleasant to stomach.

And what about those who want a shaker for other than a protein mix? What do they do with $400 worth of protein??

  • +3

I bought this one from Vitacost for $1.77 along with the following protein which got through customs no dramas:

I used a referral link to save $10, here's mine if you're interested:

You all need to understand that these bottles are BlenderBottle branded, which is MUCH better quality than the cheap bottles you find on eBay. These are leak proof and stronger than the cheap stuff on eBay. That's why it's kind of wrong to compare these bottles to the bottles on eBay. These sell for >$15 on eBay.

    Thanks OP, I bought one.

  • This is perfect for those jarrah fat free Chocolate milk powder. They can't mix well with cold milk.

  • Does anyone here understand what BPA free is?

Comparing this to some cheap one on ebay is like comparing apples and oranges in my opinion.

I will admit its not cheap for a shaker bottle but for a BPA free shaker bottle it is.

    • Unfortunately BPA is still a controversial topic. Most people don't realize that many drink containers no longer use polycarbonates that leech BPA due to the high profile. Many people also don't realize that a lot of BPA exposure comes from eating food in cans & from restaurant meals. The plastic lining that protects the metal contains BPA. Similarly many containers used in the hospitality trade have BPA, as do many wholesale sized product packages.

      • Yes there is no escaping it but there is a difference in the plastic bottles particularly. I find the ones which are not BPA free definitely have a taste to them after you use them again.

Im slowly in teh process of trying to change my tupperware over (im long overdue for new stuff)

Give it 5-10 years and most foods or drinks will use bpa free plastics. It will be a slow process to move over.

        • they have stainless steel shakers, just like stainless steel drink bottles

I can't believe so many pathetic comments about a $4.95 shaker! Some people need to get a life! You either like it or not. If you don't like it don't buy it! I think that it is a novel shaker and a pretty good deal, but I'm not going to buy one as I have 2 good shakers, and they weren't stolen!

    • whats ur good shakers like? the ones from GNC or powder shops? all mine are from powder shops. good to compare with what the yanks use.

  • +2

Just because the OP gets something in return for using his code shouldn't deserve to be negged nor brushed off as scam or 'not a bargain' as some ppl have reacted.

For $6 a BPA free bottle approx 800ml with a stainless steel whisk… not bad at all. Thanks Ozpete! Hope you get something good for sharing this deal.

    • Pete also said he doesn't even get anything from the referal code, so people are just going nuts i guess.

  • +1

$6 delivered is great thanks i needed a new one

  • I got two and it cost me $10.22 using my bankwest platinum card. No foreign exchange fees and the rate worked out the same as the XE conversion app said so $5.11 each.
Please don't neg me for plugging Bankwests card ;-)

  • Bought 3. 2 green 28oz and 1 red 20oz. checked out under $17. sweet deal

Same bottle got it from Aldi in Jan'12 for AUD 2.99

  • +1

Hmm…I wonder if this would make a good martini…

  • As a fitness studio owner, this isnt a good deal. We get them in and sell them for less.

Most companies just give them away with tubs/bags of supplements.

    • Blender Bottles with he whisk/ball? Or some generic knockoff?

  • Does anybody know any good international stores like bodybuilding and iHerb, that can actually ship products to Australia?

Those two stores, plus amazon, do not ship any of the products I am after… And I would prefer not to use a mail forwarder.

  • +2

    this bores me

  • Thanks for this good price. Got 2 delivered for under $10. And my refersl code is MUB498 if anyone whants to use it at the end of their check out.

  • I just bought one with a protein shake sample from coles for $5…including the whisk ball

    • I didn't think Coles sold this size?

  • Bought one in coles today for $5….

  • this is pretty much the worst bargain i have ever seen posted on this site.

    Weak product.

Pathetic price, cheaper online and in local stores.

all in all not a bargain.

    • +2

      you must be butthurt :)

      • -1

What a terrible retort. Clearly you're the one who is butthurt if you must make such corny comments towards multiple neg voters.

        • +1

          you must be butthurt :)

        • Hehehe…still LOL'ing! ;)

        • +1

          my butthurt with lol'ing!

        • Don't annoy me on my lunch break and I won't reply with corny retorts, simple.

        • +1

Too much LOL'ing does indeed cause the old butthurt sphincter to pucker somewhat harder!

          [edit] Corny…butthurt…hehehe! :)

      • +1

Oh boy, did I ever LOL at that! :)

    • Post a cheaper price for the same product or stfu

  • Not a deal, you can get things like this for free with purchase of stuff

    • please consult an optometrist :)

  • -1

Not a bargain at all. my local supplement shop (BodyPro Rockdale) gives me a shaker (with a blender ball inside) for free when I buy a 5lb tub of ON gold standard whey for $75 (which is a bargain in itself). Wouldnotbuy/10

    • +4

So…. it's not free then is it. It's $75 for whey + shaker. Bit different to paying $6 for a shaker if that's all you want isn't it??

  • +1

So, just went to Chemist Warehouse after work yesterday to pick up the same thing. Wouldn't you know it:

    http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=59405&pnam…

$5 and even has that little metal whisker.

    • This is no deal based on the above alone.

      • You guys do realise that those are ~400-450mls, or about half the size of this one, don't you?
