    Smells like a rep…?

    • +11

He's a mod. Someone is getting banned.

    • Do you think we should report the OP to ozpete? ^_~

    • oh snap ;).

    • Im sure Ozbargainer make a good parliament/regulator.

  • +2

Also while you are there you can pick up some protein powder or other health food items cheap as well.

IIRC protein powders will be seized by customs if they inspect the package as they are derived from milk. Also have to be careful and research what supplements you want as many do get seized…

    • yep, importing whey is a bit of a grey area. they get seized most of the time, despite being sold here legally anyway.
there are reports of them getting through, but not worth the potential hassle + risk.

    • +5

Why would you buy from overseas anyways, you can get good protein shipped in Aus with higher % of protein (i.e NoBullSupplements and BulkNutrients and I suppose there are others.) than the bigger brands.

      • -2

Excuse me I have promoted the shaker, not the protein supplements, you and everyone else can do the maths and this was an example if it suited people, but you have taken the whole thing off topic.

Also some Whey/protein products are permitted to be imported. In fact iHerb have a system, by which they will not let you buy products that they have found in the past are not permitted into Australia.

As for referral codes, these are permitted here as long as they are identified as such. and others are welcome to post their codes as the main benefit of the code is for buyers.

Stick to the deal being promoted.

        • THat's all well and good that they supposedly have a system, but whenever I have read up on what can and can't get through customs the general concensus is that Customs can be quite inconsistent at times. So I really wouldn't be explicitly recommending people buy their protein from overseas…

        • I have taken the whole thing off topic?? Well excuse me if the posting system doesn't move up my reason i posted below, above my reply to the person above me.

        • I said the above section, which you participated in was off the topic. As for comparing prices we do ask people compare like with like. And frankly if you dont like it, which you dont, then leave the deal to others. Voting negative means there is something wrong with the deal, vs a personal dislike. If we allowed personal dislikes then every vegetarian could vote down meat deals etc.

This is NOT to say making comments are wrong, they are fine, the issue is the voting.

And the comment wasn't directed at any one individual it was the group direction of the discussion which was to do with protein powder, whereas the deal is to do with a shaker. And its very hard to determine which comment you made was the one you used for the vote you made. thats a limit of the system

      • Yeah - shop locally on these ones. Lots of great quality whey available from AU/NZ, we have a huge dairy industry here.

  • +7

Not bad for the price but I usually get these free + samples when I order protein

  • +12

    How is this a bargain?
It's just a generic shaker. Theres nothing special about this "Patented BlenderBall® Wire Whisk" - all of these shakers have these balls in them. And they normally cost around $10 anyway - without having to wait for international shipping too.

Despite this being basically a regular, normal priced shaker, a saving of $4 is hardly a bargain anyway.

    • +8

" a saving of $4 is hardly a bargain anyway"

You're on the wrong website then! This is around a 40% saving…

    • .

  • +3

I agree with milkguru on this, how is this a bargain you can get this type of bottle (exact same) for that price on eBay. Or sellers throw it in for free when you buy protein.

  • +1

lol if this was up last week, i would have made use of it…i ended up gettinga a stainless steel mixer for 22 bucks..better than plastic anyways, especially considering how much usage it gets

  • +4

    Are we being punk'd, ozpete?

  • +1

protein powders I buy mix so well that you just need a spoon :) Try either ON, or bulk nutrients or professional whey. they all mix superbly

  • Where can you get one of these for $6? Seriously if I can get them locally for that I will but $6 seems good.

    • -2

      coles

      • With the ball? no

  • +4

Should'nt you also be disclosing that by using your discount code that you get 4% the value of every sale credited to your account? The code is part of a pyramid referral scheme.

    • -2

BTW since the referral bonus of $5 is more than the shaker cost then there is no referral bonus given to me on any others who are welcome to post their code, for that referral.

  • +1

I paid $12 each for these recently so it's a good price. They work brilliantly - I used them to mix Ultraslim which doesn't mix too well with cold water.

  • +3

Please elaborate on the "high tech" capabilities of this shaker.

    • +8

Plastic cup + bent whisk = Google mainframe.

  • +8

You guys need to own one to tell the difference, the blender bottle has a better build than the $3 bottles you get from anywhere else.

The blender ball itself is made of thicker wire and is firmer.
The walls of the bottle are thicker. There is a huge difference when you try squeezing the bottle with one hand.
Most importantly, the caps seal very firmly and has a loud 'click' when shut.

US$6 is a bargain for it if you qualify for the price

    • +22

From what I am led to believe these protein supplements instantly make people massively strong therefore wouldn't the "one hand squeeze quality test" just pulverise any and all blender bottles?

    • +1

I totally agree with you Hippocrit. These are much better made than the knock-offs's you get for free with a big bag of protein powder.

    • +1

I agree, the blender bottle brand are far superior to any other, especially when you use them in a dishwasher.

    • +1

I currently have in my cupboard > 10 shakers. Some I received free, others I bought, including a Blender bottle. Some I bought at retail, others on the internet.

While the build quality does vary, I have not noticed any greater advantage from using a Sundesa bottle over many other brands. The walls of the bottle vary fractionally among all my shakers of the same physical type. The Blender bottle does have a good seal, but then so do many others, and for the 20 seconds I'm actually shaking it, most others do the job OK.

My supplier over the internet swore up and down to me that he obtained his supplies from the manufacturer of Sundesa bottles, who also does OEM designs for other people, including Met-Rx freebies. So there are other bottles out there bearing different brands, often to be had for cheaper.

  • So many people are going to have mysterious malfunctions on their account. Or maybe Ozpete wont show them the good deals until 30 minutes after everybody else. ^_~

    • -1

We have a new system, where if posting or commenting as a mod, you will see the mod tag on the post. (note this one and all my others in this thread dont identify me as a mod)

If so maybe you should give examples, because we do try to be even handed

      • +1

Sorry it wasnt meant to be offensive, just a light hearted joke. You mods here are quite fair and help make this one of the best Aussie sites around which is why I keep coming here. ^_^

        • all cool thanks!

      • +3

Way too serious, man. I understand that sarcasm is lost across the net, but Lenneth put that wacky wink-face at the end of his post for a reason.

        He wasn't implying* anything. ^_~

  • +2

I have 12 shakers and I've never paid for a single one. 4 have this ball and there's nothing wrong with the thickness or cap seal. I don't see a bargain here. I see a referral code.

    http://www.proteinking.com.au/Shaker-Bottles-Mixers/Protein-… identical. $8.

    • -1

I have 12 shakers and I've never paid for a single one.

      You stole them ??? :O

      identical. $8

The one on your link is 700ml, this one is 28 ounces

      • Nah just free with purchases. The one I linked has thrown it in for free on two out of three purchases without asking.

        Identical statement retracted…

        • opps, wrong reply.

        • So the one you link to is $8 PLUS $6 Shipping.

And given if you buy other things this is free, but that's a different deal.

Good info to share, but hardly neg voting material

    • So what happens if you don't want to buy powder but just want the shaker?

And is $8+shipping less than $6?? seriously wtf.

    • Thing is, its NOT identical. Its the same style, but wont be a blender brand one. I've got a Slim & Trim brand one here, $4 at chemists warehouse, looks the same but it has broken within 3-4 months use

  • -1

You disappoint me Ozpete. I expected more from you.

    • +2

So what are you saying. That I cant post deals unless what?? You approve of them first? Please PM me with what your expectations are and in the future if I am not sure then I will need your approval before I post any deals?

Better still maybe we should have everyone meet your undeclared seal of approval.

      • +2

Was just stirring you up mate. With the code it's a good deal. +1 from me. Hope we can still be friends :p

  • +2

Chemist Warehouse also have a similar shaker for $7.99, pick up and save on postage.
    http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=62723&Shak…

  • About BPA – Bisphenol A is a chemical used in the manufacture of plastics and epoxy resins and is a known carcinogen that has been linked to brain synapse, reproductive and developmental impairments.

Furthermore, repeated use of common disposable bottles (PET) can cause the plastic to break down and carcinogens to leach into your drinking water.

    • -5

All food grade plastic is BPA free.

      • Only in China

  • The Blender branded bottle ARE better. You won't understand until you've actually owned one from this exact brand, not some ebay knockoff made of 1mm plastic. $6 is a decent price but not amazing.

Too many people on this thread don't know the difference between shakers. It may not be worth $6 to you but comparing it to the cheaper ebay stock is comparing it against more generic, unbranded stock.

    • It's Ozbargain. A large majority of people here can tell the difference in PRICES, but have zero idea when it comes to QUALITY.

These shaker bottles are excellent quality, and work very well.

  • +3

yea it's a spam. anyway if anyone wants to buy from iherb, you can use my coupon code: HOY564

    • +2

      ROFLMFAO, you've SPAMjacked Ozpete!

      • Actually It's well within our rules and I have no issue with this.

The game of sharing the deal, is primarily for the buyer to get the benefit, if when they do I or anyone else gets a benefit, then thats a bonus.

This offer has been there for 4 days, so I held off incase others wanted to promote the deal first.

My only issue with anyone posting their code, is that if they seriously believe its ok to post their code, then they should at least promote/support the deal and manyu882 has done that.

        Thanks for raising the point.

  • Ouch, tough crowd tonight Pete! You've gotta expect it though, with a sales pitch like:

    They have "high tech" capabilities

Referral link aside, & whether you're taking the mickey or not, I've gotta '+' the deal coz I don't see anyone putting up links to any that are cheaper!

Hmm, plus it's a coupla bucks cheaper than the last one offered here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36972 too!

    • Yea I thought using the quotes would indicate the "joke" but I guess "mod" season means people miss this little indicator.

But being a mod you get a little tough with the comments.

Unfortunately many want us when we rule for them, but never when we do the opposite… But hey I guess Wayne Swan will understand that tomorrow… LOL

      • +1

Hey, that's the World's Greatestest Treasurer you're maligning there buddy! Paul Keating's only a phone call away too! :p

        • Hmm, finally got a chance to catch up with the budget results…it looks like the worlds greatest treasury rat stuck a knife in my back the other night. Have at him Pete!!!

  • Needed a new shaker, 6 bucks is heaps good for a shaker regardless anyway. Here's my code KUP339

  • Can you pay PayPal?
Also where do you put the code?

    • On checkout page is where you enter your code

and Paypal is not accepted, at least in what I could see.

  • +1

Don't know why everybody's negging you.

This is the cheapest I can find delivered.
I've wanted one for a while after seeing how highly rated it is on Amazon.com
    http://www.amazon.com/Sundesa-BB28-SC08-28-Ounce-BlenderBott…
By the way, it's $7.88US + delivery there.

  • -8

    Paypal isn't accepted ? neggg

    • +1

it always amuses me when someone who hasn't posted a deal to the mob, abuses the neg button

      • -1

Do you even lift? paypal seems pretty safe dealing with international postings, I don't really abuse as it's my first neg ever on ozbargain EVER. Sounds like a generic shaker to me which is usually on sale at my local coles. These shakers sound as overated as

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Shaker-Pro-40-Diet-Protein-Food-M…

What's the point of having taking chances transaction mistakes when you can buy it locally and support local shops. BSC a pretty decent brand.

        • If you take issue with the deal in relation to value, cost or material that's one thing, just because they don't accept paypal, that isn't a cool justification of the neg vote. You should have a read of the wiki page

      • Thank you for your comments, neg abuses will give due consideration.

  • +1

I paid $5.50 for a normal shaker (no ball) at big w.
thanks for uploading the deal, ill be buying one.

  • shaker comes free with protien packs i buy from ebay, but thanks for posting

  • -4

    Good deal

    • So you're negging because….?

      • -4

        because I CANNNN!!! ahahahaha

        • someone drop the banhammer

  • Thanks OP. I love these cups. Great for keeping the water intake up :)

  • I have this bottle and it is indeed far superior in quality to others that my mates have. I got mine for about $12 so this is a good deal to me. +

  • bought one from chemist warehouse for the same price, didnt think it was exactly a 'bargain'.

  • man, it must be really dry on bargains out there for this to get posted and then so many comments.

It's not even a TV or cheap iPod. slow day huh?

  • Got a bit of a surprise that my mighty $6AUD is still getting me more than $6US. Go Aussie, go! Of course, after bank adds 2.5% for foreign transactions, it goes back over $6.

    • +2

May I introduce you to 28 Degrees MasterCard for all your foreign transactions? :)

      • Hmm, interesting. Sounds good. So they rely entirely on the outrageous interest rate for profit.

What I really want is a way to minimise currency conversion fees, which are about 2% or worse everywhere I look.

        • Well, that's pretty much across the board everywhere, but 28 Degrees usually gives fairly good rates, usually about $0.02 less than whatever the exchange rate is on xe.com, which is as good it's going to get really…

        • Quiexo is right. Just dont use the card for credit. Alternatively you can go with the Citibank plus account, which uses your money and gives close to the same exchange rate.

I haven't made two transactions at the same time to tell exactly, but transactions made within a day of each other was almost the same rate

  • If that is the case, use my code :D

    UFU519 - 5$ off !!

  • I have a plan. First the bottle, then the powder, and finally … THE BODY!

  • +1

Id say these are a bargain.

BPA free shakers are pretty rare at the moment and I know my local health food shop sells them for about $15 in this size.

Yeah sure its not that great of a deal if your happy with some cheapo one from somewhere else. (once you go bpa free you dont go back, I really notice a plasticy taste from a lot of water bottles and stuff now)

edit: got through to the shipping part. $27 for 7 bottles, its says its a $3.7 kg parcel. wtf

  • -2

Not a bargain — retail shops sell these for $15. Aldi occasionally sells a wire whisk shaker for $2.99!!!

    Example: http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_20315.htm

    • -2

Yep, i agree, same thing at aldi for much cheaper.

      • Agree the Aldi deal is cheaper, but its NOT available. So every deal on Coke by Coles Woolies or IGA, which is now more expensive than one sold 3 months ago deserves to be voted down by you two?

As you said retail shops currently sell these for $15.

If you are really that concerned about the price then give everyone a link to one that's cheaper shipped, that's available now.

Also the Aldi one doesn't indicate that its BPA free, which for some is an important health issue. Again is that worth the extra? well that's a personal choice.

Otherwise you are not contributing anything positive.

Or better still why not post a deal that is cheaper, then let people decide.

        • +1

Agree the Aldi deal is cheaper, but its NOT available. So every deal on Coke by Coles Woolies or IGA, which is now more expensive than one sold 3 months ago deserves to be voted down by you two?

True enough, but we come here for other bargains, which are often not available all the time. What is a bargain is a subjective judgment, and you're entitled to your own opinion.

Otherwise you are not contributing anything positive.

Also true, I contributed a negative vote. I had to explain why I did so.

Or better still why not post a deal that is cheaper, then let people decide.

Sure — I'll post one when I find it. Most normally I pick up one when buying other items, such as supplements, so shipping isn't an issue. For example, I believe Supplements Direct sells a 28oz/800ml one for about $5.

Normally however, I'd go for something like this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170685853695, which is 5 shakers and works out around $6.35 each.

        • -1

Normally however, I'd go for something like this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170685853695, which is 5 shakers and works out around $6.35 each.

So where's the deal when these work out at 5.35 each for 3?

          Maybe try again.

  • +1

I'm voting positive just to counteract the ridiculous negatives here.

    • +2

If I said I was voting negative just to counteract your ridiculous positive, my vote would be revoked by a mod. Same should happen to you.

      • +1

If I said I was voting positive just to counteract your ridiculous negative in order to counteract epicaricacy's ridiculous positive, I would become confused. Same should happen to you. :p

This is a fairly deep-nested sequence of hypothetical dream-votes here kids, you might need a totem to keep you in reality, something small & heavy…say, a stainless steel wire ball! ;)

  • -1

Don't see the deal here, I've got about 5 for free so far, depending where you buy your protein you can often just ask for one.. The whisk ball or whatever you call it is in heaps of shakers also..
If it was $2-3 I would say good deal, but i've seen them for $10 on sale in shops without buying protein and without waiting for int. shipping.
