Was cheaper yesterday for $579 at Supercheap but can still get it for that price at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0876FQ8R9

Bunnings still have it for $579 too

Also note this is the older 2C 1080P version and not the newer 2C Pro 2K

I don't mind 1080P. I wished the older version would be on clearance like the reduced price in February 2021 when it was just $349 on Amazon.

  • Can you add different Eufy cameras to the same HomeBase?

  • Great system, great value. Battery claims check out, I've had mine installed since Nov-21 and have not had to charge one of the four yet.

    • +1

That's pretty good - mine needed recharging every 3-4 months until I got sick of that and bought the solar panels (also on special for $79). So now they are always at 100%. Aside from this inconvenience the cameras work well … have not missed a beat.

  • If you have access to members advantage you can pick up the 4 cameras 2c pro for $660 ish

I have been using eufy ecosystems for a while now. Would recomend to avoid any set that come with homebase 2 as it got in-built storage only 16GB, no external microsd slot and usb port doesnt work with thumbdrive. Only way to expand the storage by NAS or buy the cloud service. Try get set with homebase 1 as it got expandable storage for microSD up to 128GB. 128GB can store file up to 4+ months with 4 camera setup where 16GB only can store up to 1-2 months. Homebase 1 also keep getting firmware update so it can connect to the latest eufy ecosystems.

    • Hi Meaty, thanks for pointing this out. I was considering a eufy or other system and would love any recomendations from someone in the know. A basic 2-4 cam system that will be connected to the building's 4G internet, ideally the cams are weatherproof as it's to secure an outdoor laneway access area to the building, 720p or whatever is fine, standalone storage, can be accessed remotely, low maintenance, ideally will provide power to the cams so nothing to maintain etc. I am quite nescient in this area any advice would be greatly helpful. Love a bargain.

Also if the system could have interior motion detection with remote notification that would be amazing. I've been looking at a couple of individual units but would be great if it were all integrated.

      • Before giving any suggestion, do you prefer constant 24/7 auto recording with online stream or just camera that record when motion detected with online stream?

        • Probably a system with both, a constant cam on the house exterior and motion cams at the entrances I suppose that would be optimal

          • +1

@chyawala: For 24/7 outdoor recording, eufy only have 1 outdoor 24/7 camera that is weatherproof. It is called EufyCam Outdoor Pro 2K (wired with SD card slot up to 128GB). If you connect the camera with your Wi-Fi and have internet access, you can view the video online via eufy app. Currently Scorptec having a sale for this unit, $169/each + delivery/free click collect or $179 on amazon with free prime delivery.

You can use either eufy indoor Cam 2K $70-79 or eufy Indoor Cam 2K Pan and Tilt $90-$98 for the entrance. The motion sensor will work behind glass as long isn't tinted and at night there's proper lightning on the entrance. It got SD card slot too for up to 128GB and if its connect to Wi-Fi with internet access, you access the video online via eufy app also. Both device can be setup record on motion sense only or continuous recording.

If you gone with these 2 options, you dont need the homebase as they will work independently without it but you need to buy bigger sd card for each camera if you want keep the record file longer. $0 subscription on these setup and almost zero maintenance once setup.

            • @Meaty: Thanks so much. I will probably use those two cameras. I'm hoping that they will be quite lean on data as they will have to be connected with a 4G cellular modem on prepaid data. I assume they only use internet bandwidth when I remotely access them with the app. Is it possible to also view/download the footage from them remotely? That and being able to view them live would be amazing.

              • @chyawala: Pretty much when you not accessing them via the app, the camera will just auto record on the device micro SD card. When you try to view them on the phone app then it will use the internet. You can view live and download the footage from the camera via eufy app.

    • I find 16GB is more than adequate for my 2 camera + doorbell setup. I can go back and look at several months of footage. Don't really need to keep footage for any longer than that.

      • Which system did you get? Is that the 2 cam plus home-based and doorbell?

        • I got the homebase 2 with two 2C cameras and bought the doorbell separately. Added some solar panels for the cameras a few weeks ago because I was sick of charging them every 3-4 months.

      • +1

Yea but if you got 16 eufy device connected, maybe like 4-8 camera and the rest eufy sensors it will be full in month or so. So it all depends how far you invest on their ecosystem.

        • I don’t think that’s a problem. I have never needed to go back that far. You can easily download any videos you want to keep.

  • Where can I buy a set with home base 1 so I can upgrade the storage capacity? An way to get 2C Pro 2K (newest version) with home base 1?

    • +1

This is a eufy camera kit x3 with 365 days eufycam + homebase 1 >> link. Also want avoid eufy 2c pro 2K as their battery life according to eufy 180 days but in real world test only 3-4 months due 2K recording use more battery.

  • Does anyone know if the doorbell chime? I have an existing video cam door bell connected to home video but the video camera scratched and not chime … thinking to get it replaced.
