YouHodler, EU and Swiss-based company focused on crypto-backed lending, is offering an easy US$50 sign up bonus

  1. Sign up with a referral link
  2. Get ID verified
  3. Deposit US$1000 in any crypto/stablecoin (it's best to deposit a little more in case of fluctuations)
  4. Choose which coin to receive the bonus in (you actually get an extra 260% interest (APY) for the week = $50, so make sure you pick a coin which has at least a $1000 balance)
  5. Receive the bonus US$50 after 7 days

They also have good ongoing rates on most stablecoins, like USDC at 12% with no hoops to jump through

  • Do you have to include this in the tax return as its a bonus = hence gift?

    And whats the withdraw fees?

    • My best guess would be no if you're not a trader.

The taxing point would be when you sell or trade it for another currency/coin. Deemed cost base is probably the market value at the time you got the bonus. NFA!

All sign up bonuses are tax free because they count as gifts, whether they are cash, crypto, shares etc.
If you get the bonus in something like BTC and hold it long term then you will need to pay tax on just the difference between the receiving price and the sale price.

The withdraw fee depends on which coin/network you use. I plan to withdraw USDC using BEP20 for US$1. If you have a Binance account this is an easy option to cash out.

Oh didnt know bonus on crypto and shares are also tax free. thanks for the information.

Waiting for some hat to come in and say CGT.

  • Referee gets $50, what does the referrer get?

    • +1

$50 each for referrer and referee

      • Cheers.

12% interest on stablecoins in pretty damn good these days eh.

    • 12% paid in what? More stable coin? Many are just minting whatever their generic coin is and diluting the supply..making them worth less and less.

      • +1

        You get paid in stablecoin.

..making them worth less and less.

        Basically like fiat.

      • +2

YouHodler does not have it's own token, it pays out interest in the same crypto you deposit.

        • That's pretty good then. Cheers.
          KYC required?

  • Thanks signed up using one of the referrals.

    • +1

Make sure you add your referral code to the ozbargain list considering their is only 8 at the moment there’s a good chance you’ll be someone else’s referrer.

  • Is there any day limit that you have to deposit $1000 to qualify?

    • There's no time limit in the terms and conditions. It can be spread over multiple deposits too.

  • I had a look at their help articles but couldn’t find if the withdrawal fees are the standard gas fees?

    • +1

It depends which coin you plan to deposit.
For most coins they charge a commission on top of gas fees. It would get expensive if you wanted to use ERC20.
They support cheap BEP20 withdrawals for a lot of tokens including USDC though: $1 withdrawal fee + a few cents of gas

      • Yeah true that. Was going to deposit USDT. That’s a good deal then 👌🏽

  • Hey friends, if you get on this, I'd suggest in-and-out/smash-and-grab. The returns they offer are certainly not safely sustainable longer term, and unfortunately they create a deceptive front for a large portion of their products which are basically Leverage Trading, which is extremely risky [almost a gamble] even for those few who know what they are doing. If you smash and grab, you could be safe, if you are thinking beyond that, PLEASE do proper research into the platform- and not just of YouTubers that have affiliate links in the description.
    Peace.

This is clearly written by someone that doesn't use leverage.

  • I just signed up with the random referral shared here and I am getting a different bonus…no $50

    See this: https://ibb.co/XZNBwFm

    • Yeah it’s the same deal. It mentions the percentage in the deal and works out to be $50 USD.

      • +1

        Ok thank you

  • I wasn’t thinking clearly and only sent $110 USDT, does anyone know if I can send another $900 or does it need to be in one transfer?

    • +1

Multiple transfers should be fine. From the terms and conditions:
"Invitee can make the first deposit with several transactions. For example, he deposits 500 USD with the first transaction and 500 USD with the second. Once the balance reaches 1K, the reward will be provided"

      • Perfect thanks!!

  • anyone received the $50 bonus coins?

    • +1

It hasn't been 7 days yet. Interestingly in app it says 14 days instead of 7 when I activated by my reward today.

    • I've earned the $50 already, it's not really a bonus like from other institutions.
it's a boosted rate, you have to choose what coin you're boosting your rate for (just pick the one you deposited).
USDT earn rate goes from 12.3% to 272.3% for 7 days.
      $1000 * 2.723 * 7 / 365 = $52.22
So you basically earn $50 in interest in a little under 7 days.
$2.22 is the amount of interest you earn if it wasn't boosted. So you effectively get the bonus over a period of 7 days.
The more you deposit doesn't impact this earn rate as I found out (i.e. you dont get the $50 earned quicker), so it's actually more beneficial if you keep additional capital elsewhere while the bonus rate is active.

That being said, 12.3% is a good rate for USDT/USDC regardless.

      • If you have 10k in the chosen coin, would the 10k get the boosted rate?

        • +3

          Disregard what I wrote before.

It seems like the $50 is given to your account over the 7 day period (i.e. your account gains interest of $7.14~ per day for 7 days)
and you also receive interest at 12.3% of whatever your deposit is (e.g. you deposit $10000, so you get $3.37~ per day into your account as well).

If you deposit $10k at the end of 7 days you should have $73.59 in interest ($50 + $23.59)

@c0dingmachine: Its strange. I deposited 1k on 15 April, I got an interest of $1.89 and bonus $9.85 on 21 April. I checked few days ago it was showing on top right of the app as $30+ (Payout in 3 days at the time). Which I thought would add on to make up to $50 as you mentioned. However, I just logged in the app today to see no $30-40 was credited. It now shows $2.28 earned (payout in 6 hours from time of this post). As it stands, I have $1011.99 currently and $2.28 earned (payout in 6 hours).

Any idea how to contact support? I tried the option in App and doesn't show an option to send a request.

            • +1

@lilkid28: I emailed them as mine was only $10 - they said they know about the issues and it’s being fixed now. So I reckon for now wait a few more days and if it hasn’t come through email them.

              • +1

@bobwokeup: Ok. So I've referred someone else. And there is an option to claim another reward. I suppose it just means I can boost it 272% for another 7 days to get $50? I'll probably wait till the $50 gets credited before I do so.

                • @lilkid28: Good question I don’t think it will impact referrals but yeah best to wait until you get the $50.

                • +1

@lilkid28: No need to wait. You can claim the referral now and an extra 7 days will be added. I had claimed both at same time and it said payout in 14 days. I got the first ~US$50 today.

                • @lilkid28: My referral for $50 was "expired" today. That payout was meant to be due in 2 days …. So in end I only got the $50 sign on bonus.

I've messaged them why the second $50 was expired.

                  • @Lucille Bluth: Pretty poor form from them. It's been more than a week and they trying to fix something simple. As long as people have held for 7 days or so, they should just credit the $50. Making it a boost for 7 days in chosen coin seems more like a trap to get someone to choose a coin they didn't deposit or to get someone to deposit more in.

              • @bobwokeup: have they fixed it for you? thanks for sharing.

                • @jwl81124: No worries, not yet. If it’s not fixed on Monday I’m going to follow up.

                  • @bobwokeup: I just signed up and the support team is still online now after I send them a email to [email protected] and got reply in 10mins

                    • @jwl81124: Cheers yeah they said “it requires additional time to be completed”

                    • +1

@jwl81124: Asked them today and reading between the lines they have no idea how long it’ll take 🤦🏽‍♂️

                      • @bobwokeup: Bit ridiculous tbh. They can just credit it easily.

                        • @lilkid28: My thoughts exactly. Credit and then fix it for new customers.

                      • @bobwokeup: hope you will get it soon

                        • +2

@jwl81124: Their referral system is broken imo. I activated a boosted rate from a referral, based off my calculations I'm not earning anything from the boosted rate. Still stuck on the base rate :|

                          • @c0dingmachine: thanks for your sharing, I haven't deposit yet, I don't have USD, in the middle of transfer money. I hope they will honor the deal for everyone. Who really got the bonus?

                            • +1

@jwl81124: I got about 95% of my sign up bonus via a referral link (I didn't bother emailing because it was close enough), but my referrer bonus (someone signed up under me) isn't working properly so I have emailed them about it. Still waiting for some clarity though…

I think the sign up bonus via a referral works for the most part and their normal interest rate payout is fine as well. Probably more on the generous end as well seeing as everyone is cutting back their rates.

        • My understanding is that the boosted rate is capped at US$50. You will also earn the advertised yield for whatever you deposited on top as normal so as c0dingmachine says.

Does anyone know what the BTC withdrawal fee is since people at now at the stage of being able to withdraw? I only deposited my US$1000 worth yesterday.

  • Have any one received the modified sign up bonus?

    • Nope I contacted support the other day and they said they’re still working on a fix. Not a good sign when the reward was meant to be paid after 7 days and it’s been weeks.

      • I just got mine 2 mins ago. I honestly wasn't expecting anything but I did actually get it :) (got my sign up bonus + a referral payout too)

        • Cheers just checked and also got mine as a “refund”. Hopefully they’ve fixed it for newbees but I’m taking my funds out ASAP.
