People who play Ubisoft games have been playing the same MTX laden game repeatedly since 2014.
They'll probably love a chance to pay again to make the game fun with a subscription service, look what they've done so far.
They're targeting people who actually buy in-game crap with their whole "rewards" system, you basically get loot boxes from it. The kind of people who spend hundreds/thousands in games anyway, it just lets them get the games for "free".
No doubt this is just a shot at hoping tonnes of people forget to unsubscribe and grab $20, because for most people this service is really not worthwhile. Even at release price Ubisoft barely puts out $240 worth of games a year (and for AC players, just wait for the first Epic store $15 coupon matched with a sale).
I tried this a few years back (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462767) and was able to finish a few games during that period. Some others got caught out by the fee though so be careful.
7 days is a joke in comparison and yes, the normal price is insane especially when gamepass exists at a fraction of the price.
Careful with these - suggest you use a prepaid card with no funds and an unused account. The last 30 day one my card was charged twice a day after signing up. Seemed to happen to quite a few people overwhelming ubisoft support so they chose to automatically reject all refund requests and shut down accounts that requested a chargeback. I never even used the service during the trial or after the charge.
pretty much is like gamepass but with only ubisoft games.
Hmm what happens if I play anno DLCs with this, having already the base game, will I be unable to play my saves after it expires?
