NAB Credit Card Pro Rata Fee Refund When Closing Account?

Hi all,

Just wanted to double check with NAB, whether a cancellation of the credit cards results in partial/unused refund of the annual fee?

Can someone shed light into this if they have experience?

      Wrong.

      They do pro-rate the annual fee. Please don't share wrong information if you do not know the answer to it.

        Cancelled my NAB card in April 21 and got no refund. That was my experience and that is what OP asked for - people's experiences!

          Your experience is different to mine and many others here. Did you contact NAB about the refund and, if so, did they specifically tell you no refunds?

          You should requested to speak to supervisor if they said No. May be it was someone new. Happened to my partner when she cancelled last year. Lucky I was next to her and told her to requested speak to someone in authority about that. The CS operator went away for few minutes and then came back to acknowledge about the refund.

    I cancelled my NAB credit card last year and was refunded the annual fee pro-rata.

      Was it a qantas points one? Im trying to cancel while getting this months points allocation :D

        Yes, Qantas card. The NAB spokesperson specifically asked me for my bank details to remit the refund to (as I hold no transaction accounts with NAB).

    I had my fee pro rata refunded last november with them instigating it, I didn't have to ask.

    A couple of comments said they got the entire fee refunded by NAB, not just pro-rata.

    Late to the party but I just closed my NAB Qantas card today cos I waited for the points to hit. Went on the live chat, had to wait a while but easy process overall. They confirmed the refund as well, basically spent under $20 to get my 100k bonus points

    I got a full refund, but I did only have the card open for 3 weeks. Love how efficient NAB is with bonus points. Cancelled over the phone, as I always do.

    Cancelled last week and, after confirmation, the operator immediately worked out how much I'll get back and asked what account I want to credit back. Out of pocket was $20 - $295 fee, used card for approx 3-4 weeks.

        Got my refund about 3 weeks after I requested it, and they refunded to an external BSB and account number

        I think you could probably get it if you ask. Apparently they just removed "automatic" refunds.

          Can I ask where you heard that? I'm thinking of rolling the dice on a possible refund (haven't applied yet) so would be good to know.
